A huge thank you to the excellent team at Venture property in Darlington!! I bought a buy to rent property through Venture and it was an excellent journey from starting to finish. Huge thanks to both sales teams and rent teams , I bought property from them and after that I put the property on rent, they assisted me to finding tenants, within a month I got tenants. First time I jumped in this business and I was totally blank and had no idea how to process. The team helped me in everything , they were helpful, informative and professional. We were really impressed with the service we received when selling our house. From start to finish, the team were professional, efficient and approachable. The photos and video of our property were of an excellent standard and really helped to showcase it at its best. The advert on Rightmove was well put together and attracted a lot of interest very quickly. Communication was also spot on. We were always kept informed about viewings and appointments, and everything was handled smoothly and promptly. Disappointing move-in condition and unhelpful response so far I moved into a Venture Properties, managed home on 15 Aug 2025 (let through Lynn). Lynn was excellent - responsive, clear, and handled my check-in gracefully. Within the first three days I reported multiple issues with photos and asked for help. My main contact since then has been Nikki. What I found on move-in (photos to be attached): Carpets: very dirty and need a deep clean; General cleanliness: cobwebs and dust throughout; Mould: visible in the bathroom and on the blackout blinds; Heating: several radiators not working properly and/or can’t adjust temperature; Front bedroom: small window broken (won’t open/close); bedside wall light appears broken and has no switch; curtain pole is loose and sags/falls; heavy dust on shutters; Kitchen: cooker hood thick with grease (filters likely need cleaning/replacing); oven heavily soiled with baked-on grease; Garden boundary: rear right fence leaning/falling. What I asked for: Authorisation to use my professional cleaner to deep-clean carpets, cooker hood and oven with reimbursement on invoice, or for Venture to send their contractor. Venture’s response so far: I was told the property had been “domestically cleaned,” that cleanliness is “subjective,” and that cleaning would be at my cost with no reimbursement. Why I’m disappointed: - “Subjective” isn’t the standard: The tenancy pack sets objective baselines (return/receive in the same condition as at the start - fair wear & tear excepted; working heating/electrics; free from serious hazards like mould; supplied appliances maintained). With a previous tenant having a dog (confirmed at my viewing), a proper move-in clean and accurate check-in record aren’t matters of preference. - The “domestic clean” here clearly wasn’t a move-in standard: carpets still dirty after my own clean, cooker hood/oven heavily greased, mould present. - Refusing to authorise reasonable cleaning (or reimburse mine) places the cost of a below-baseline handover on the incoming tenant. I’ve shared a final cleaning invoice from my previous tenancy (full house + carpets) to show the standard I leave properties in. I’m not asking for anything extravagant - just to have the home brought up to a proper move-in baseline and the repairs scheduled. If Venture addresses the cleaning and completes the repairs promptly, I will update this review to reflect that. As of today, my experience has been poor: a substandard handover and a dismissive stance on putting it right (with the exception of Lynn’s excellent service at let and check-in).

Venture has managed our investment property for many years and having bought another one recently, the easy option was to appoint Venture to manage it. As we live overseas, we rely on them heavily to manage everything related to our properties. Matthew, Kylie and Lynn worked extremely hard to get our 2nd property on the market and let. Nikki managed our property for many years and she was extremely helpful and efficient. She has recently been taken over by Sophie when Nikki was promoted. Sophie is doing a great job so far. A Big Shout-Out to Venture Properties! My partner and I went through a tough time recently after being misled by a letting agency in Darlington (we'd rather not name them). As a result, we were left with very little time to find a new place, sort out our belongings, and make the move. My experience with venture properties (Darlington) has been excellent. It was the first time I had sold a property and staff were aways there to help me through the process. From the valuation of my property to the completion of the sale, I have been nothing but impressed by the professionalism of the staff. All emails were responded to in a timely manner and when staff were not in work, other their colleagues would respond on their behalf. I was kept up to date with viewing appointments and any feedback from the viewings was forwarded to me. All staff are a credit to the company but Liam and Grace were particulary helpful. If you are selling a property, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Venture!!

As a first time house renter, as silly as it sounds I found the prospect really quite daunting, but Venture really straightened it all out. Everyone I spoke to was very helpful, the viewings and contracts were straightforwards and simple and I never felt like I was being taken for a ride or otherwise used. Infact quite the opposite, I always felt like I could reach out and ask a question, and they've been on my side the whole way, and now I'm happily set up in a property and all's well. Ive rented from venture now for nearly 2 years. The whole process from before i got my house up until now has been nothing but 5 star. Venture allowed me to view my house even after missing my viewing slot, nothing was too much trouble. They have allowed me to put my own personal spin on my home which they didnt have to do. After the bad weather we had at the end of last year my bathroom ceiling started leaking. As soon as i reported it to tracy she had a roofer in place to fix it ASAP. Tracy honestly couldnt be more helpful regardless of what i ask her. I missed a rent payment last year and Tracy was so understanding of my situation and came up with a more than affordable payment plan to help me get back on track. After renting properties from multiple different estate agents in darlington Venture top the list.

The best agency in Darlington by far. I have just sold my house with Ventures valuer Jack who initially valued my home very accurately. I received five offers in the first week of marketing it. Myra helped me with the difficult choice of choosing a new owner then Kelly and Carl kept me informed regularly with the 'limbo' period of the sale when Solicitors carry out the conveyancing. In the final week Carl even helped to pull all of the strings together and we completed a week earlier than expected which was great. A very pro active and diligent team. With such a lot of money at stake and raw nerves why choose second best. I would always use Venture every time.
