Informed there was a property I may be interested in so next day I phoned to arrange a viewing. The phone call went to a town about 60miles away. Theye said they would get my local agents to contact me. I heard nothing so next day phoned again. Three weeks down the line I am still waiting for them to contact me. I won't be using Bridgford for any future house transactions based on this experience.

My husband and I were on the look out for a new family home. After contacting the team reference a viewing we began dealing with Max. We found him to be honest, and reliable. Max quickly understood what it was we wanted in a home and within a week had suggested the property we are now moving into. Terrible communication, valuations and organisation.

We sold our flat with Bridgfords Swinton and the experience with them was terrible from start to finish. They over-valued our property by £15,000, meaning that when our buyers applied for their mortgage they refused to give them their full amount, causing us to have to sell the property for £15,000 less as we didn’t have the time to put the property back in the market due to our chain. We had further issues with our buyers’ mortgage application causing a huge delay in the sale, and we actually ending up initially losing our forward purchase due to this. Throughout this whole nightmare Bridgfords were absolutely useless. We told them time and time again to call my partner instead of me, due to our professions, and they constantly ignored this and rang me. We had to deal with our buyers directly as Bridgfords had very little communication with either of us, and would actually ring us to ask for an update on our buyers situation! Causing us more stress and an extra party to deal with and update. Whenever we spoke with Bridgfords they had absolutely no idea what was going on and couldn’t keep track of any part of the sale. They were by far more of a hinderance than a help. They also didn’t conduct any showings of our flat themselves (as they had initially sold to us) and we had to do every showing as whenever we asked them they said they were busy. They charged us £2,200 for the pleasure of all of this.Overall, if we ever come to sell again we will be sure to steer clear of Bridgfords and would highly advise others do the same.

Bridgfords is just the best and their houses are usually beautiful. They were also very responsive and helpful right from the letting process to when we moved in. Issues are usually responded to on time for the 12 months we stayed. It's been a wonderful experience so far. No regrets. You won't regret it.

Dont Waste Your Time

I had a very bad experience with one of their estate agent in cheadle hulme. Be aware of Omara, she views you the property and stands still and doesn't even puts up an effort to speak or show the property. A pure lack of training and wonder how bridgfords keep a check? On top, if there's other properties to see, they'd give you excuses and never deliver what they promise, delays on delays. I guess barely they have good agents and mostly its all bad. Its pitty to know what such companies has such employee who works as if they are forced to do so.

Horrendous experience with Bridgfords…

Horrendous experience with Bridgfords as a buyer. While being shown a property by Bridgfords in Knaresborough, we were told by the estate agent that there is no need to do a survey on the property as the previous interested party had done one and there was nothing to worry about. I found this very unprofessional and alarm bells were ringing and rightly so as it later turned out that the house was built from a non-standard construction. At a later date we viewed another property with Bridgfords and this time communication was a serious issue, it was extremely difficult to get hold of anyone in the office, often we would call and the phone would be picked up and then instantly slammed down, we would walk past the office and see plenty of staff in the office and our calls being ignored. We ended up missing out on the property as we were simply unable to get through to them. Overall, an extraordinarily poor experience.

Do not trust them, they will rob you blind

Do not under any circumstances go with these! They will steal from you. They never asked prior to us applying whether we would need a guarantor and because it became obvious we did after application they decided not to go with us and stole our holding deposit from us. We a family with a small child and a baby on its way and they refused to give us our money back. They wouldn't budge a little bit. Not even offer a little bit back. Horrible estate agent that will rob you blind. Do not trust them!!!!

Zero engagement for deposit return

My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Bridgfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back.Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request.An agent did respond so say someone from the deposit team would be in touch.Chased again on 22nd Jan advising that nothing had been heard - to date zero response.They were very good when it came to take my money. There can be no excuse for the lack of engagement. A dispute has been raised with MyDeposit.

DO NOT RENT FROM BRIDGFORDS !!! I was told from many to avoid this company but unfortunately chose to ignore that advice I now regret, I informed bridgfords I would be leaving the property and in terms of viewings would have to be after 5pm and that I was leaving on a certain date, Harriet would ring with attitude not happy in the fact I couldn’t be available for viewing that suited them to the point she told me they would take the property off the market knowing I needed to leave early as her main aim was to cause more stress whilst knowing the sensitive situation I was in I made my self available for THIER times to which I lost out on wages THEY were supposed to be at the property to show people around to which they were always late so I would do it. Disgusting service they withhold all your bond no matter what, even the removals company told me I’d never see the bond again as no one does. And if they deal with the maintenance you have no chance, the bath panel in my property was broken and My child could of seriously harmed himself on this but it took them 3 months to sort it.

Worst estate agency I've ever used by FAR! You couldn't pay me to rent through them, will never use these guys to rent through again! Charges absolutely extortionate and they charge for EVERYTHING they do. Just got done renting a property through them for 6 months, after numerous mid term calls attempting to arrange viewings!? When I'd only been there for 2 months because they hadn't bothered to check their sytems, they then harrassed me saying I hadn't paid my rent when I had!!! Absolute joke! Then I get an email along the lines of 'great news your landlord has agreed to offer you the property at the same fixed cost for a further term, all you have to do to claim this is pay about £200 in ADDITIONAL admin fees to stay'!!!! I've rented for years and have never ever heard of anything quite like this. Then to top it all off my new estate agent called me last week when they were trying to collect a reference re: me renting through them. THEY ASKED FOR £25 TO GIVE A REFERENCE!!!! Absolutely horrendous, I'd seriously rather be homeless than rent through these ever again.

If you're a Landlord RUN AWAY!! They do not check references and even suggest bad tenants to landlords! I had a dispute going on about the deposit held after the tenant trashed my house and left with unpaid rent and no forward contact details. Turned out 4 months later deposit still with Bridgfords and they call me saying 'good news' the tenant has called and wants the deposit. I ask about address details and they informed me he was a "new tenant" of theirs who they accepted and offered to a landlord based on income only. I guess they did not feel like mentioning to the new landlord the tenant wrecked the last house they were in.

Stuart (Mortgage Consultant) in the Darlington branch was amazing, easy to deal with and knew his stuff, rings you back instantly, gets you a brew, everything that you expect to happen but doesnt with other companies - (brew was a tad milky). His knowledge of mortgages and the system is second to none and I would have seriously struggled without him. He even stayed stayed back till 7pm on a Friday to complete the mortgage offer. My only regret is that I didn't use Bridgfords for the house sale and to advise the best solicitor. 100% recommend, even saved me money on SKY TV.

I wouldn’t recommend

I wouldn’t recommend. They set you up with an energy supplier even though you withdraw from an application. I didn’t even sign the contract and they raised an account without my consent. I had to be on the phone for almost an hour to close an account I didn’t even set up which will take 6-8 weeks with OVO. The staff at Stockport are lovely but I got spoken to like I was a child when I called up asking why this happened by Katherine when in the past she’s been nice. I don’t recommend Bridgfords. 👎🏾
