GoogleMartin & Co Crystal Palace are extremely professional and caring agents. From the onset of marketing our property for sale, they gave sound, honest advice about the current market, to position it at a good sellable, but not over inflated price. This encouraged many viewings. The coordination and communication for each visit was arranged swiftly and really helpful feedback given immediately. Once offers were made, they guided the negotiation process fairly, then worked hard towards securing the final successful outcome. Everything ran smoothly and with their help and reassurance at every stage, it minimised any stress associated with selling. My thanks to James, Michael, Paula and all the team for their time, understanding and wise advice.

Google2025: An update with further accolades! In July 2024, our ground floor flat was flooded by faulty plumbing in the flat above. Martin and Co were fantastic in responding to the immediate emergency: ensuring the tenants' safety and minimising property damage. But they were absolutely outstanding when it came to the months that followed - identifying and managing repair works, liaising with the freeholder's building insurance loss adjusters. The outcome could not have been more positive: the works were successfully completed to a high standard and the claim was fully reimbursed. We then proceeded to sell the flat and Martin & Co were again fantastic - swift, efficient, and, when the masters of diplomacy when it came to tricky negotiations weeks before completion. We could not recommend them more highly. 2023: We can't speak more highly of Martin & Co at Crystal Palace. From the very first phone call everyone in the office has been exceptionally professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing us the best possible support as new landlords. As well as covering all the basics they have consistently gone above and beyond in terms of their general and specific advice, which is always oriented to ensuring the best outcomes for tenants as well as landlords. I could not be happier to have James and Annabel as managing agents!

GoogleBoth as a sales and letting agent, Martin & Co in Crystal Palace is a pleasure to deal with. Not something I've ever said about any other estate agent or lettings agent/manager. Everyone there is just so nice, efficient, helpful, swift to get back to you - almost unheard of in the property business. There's none of that pushy, wheeler-dealer attitude that so many estate agents have, which makes you mistrust them. On the contrary, their honest, straightforward, personal style makes you feel at ease and well supported. If it weren't for the cheerful, common-sense, pragmatic, can-do approach of James Gough when I was buying my flat, I don't think the sale would have gone through. The vendor and his solicitor seemed intent on hindering the process and pulled out of the sale at one point, which made my solicitor advise me to walk away. But thanks to James, we managed to seal the deal - and get a last-minute lease extension. The fact that he is a solicitor by training is also very reassuring. Normally, I would try and manage my own rental property, but because James was such an ally over the purchase of my flat, I kept the team on as managing agents - and am 100% pleased that I did so. So many little things go wrong or come up, and they just deal with them with the least fuss and expense. It's so nice to deal with real people! Thanks, James, Lucy, Annabel and all in the office! UPDATE 23 April 2024 I have just sold my flat through James and team at Martin & Co.Throughout my 10 years of ownership, they continued to be reliable, friendly, helpful, responsive managing agents. GoogleI rented my flat through Martin & Co over the period of about 10 years. From start to finish, the service I received was outstanding. James & Annabel are capable, thorough and extremely personable; their information management is excellent and they were hugely proactive in how they managed the flat. So much so that when it came to sell, I used them for that as well (the sale was every bit as well executed as the management). I cannot recommend them highly enough.

GoogleI strongly recommend Martin and Co for any prospective tenants in the area. We rented our first home together through Martin and Co, and had a wonderful experience with the whole team - notably Annabel and James. Renting for the first time can be nerve wracking, and we’d heard all the horror stories about unresponsive managing agents and other issues, but you’ll get none of that with Martin and Co. We stayed in the same property for three years, and this was largely due to the peace of mind we had from our interactions with the team. Always quick to respond to any queries we have, and incredibly helpful through any rare teething issues with the flat. The team really care about their tenants and the properties they manage and it shows.

GoogleI would highly recommend James and his team at Martin & Co Crystal Palace. Throughout the process of buying my property, James was nothing but helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, doing whatever possible to assist both the vendor and me. Post completion he continued to keep in touch which was much appreciated, making me feel very welcome to the neighbourhood! A few years later when I decided to rent out my property, it was a no brainer to contact James and team to appoint them as managing agents. I was delighted at how quickly they found my tenants, and very impressed with their support and guidance throughout the process. During the tenancy I couldn't ask for more in terms of their efficient management and communication. After moving back in, when it came to putting my house back on the market to sell, there was no doubt in my mind which agents I would appoint. Despite the turbulent times within the housing market they found a number of suitable buyers, and were once more thoroughly supportive and proactive during the process which completed smoothly. Our property-buying process was extremely long and stressful (through no fault of the estate agent) and we couldn't have had better customer service from Michael and James. They were so empathetic and supportive, and we never had to chase them. They took initiative to push for us and kept us up-to-date at all times which honestly was invaluable during a process that felt hopeless at times. It felt like they were really on our side. GoogleI recently used Martin & Co in Crystal Palace to sell a property. My first contact was with Michael, who is very personable and has excellent communication skills. He provided a realistic appraisal of the value the property and advised the correct asking price to attract interest quickly. Unlike many other estate agents, he provided a no nonsense approach and was transparent with the commission fees. He demonstrated expert negotiation skills with potential buyers and he was highly motivated to achieve the best sale price for the property. I was kept fully appraised of feedback from the viewings. Once the offer was accepted, James took over to progress the sale. The buyer had quite a few demands and James kept calm negotiating with both the buyer and solicitors using his expert legal insight. So if you are looking to sell a property in Crystal Palace and surrounding areas, then I would recommend you look no further than Martin & Co.

GoogleMy partner and I moved from Crystal Palace to Helensburgh in Scotland in 2014. Having had a lot of negative experiences with other estate agents on "the triangle" we were extremely nervous about how this new relationship would work out and I vowed to give it some time before writing a review which would bare all about our experience. James and the gang provide the best service you can imagine from an estate agent. I know that "best service from an estate agent" is not exactly a great compliment when it comes to the quality of service from the industry as a whole (I'm sorry to say this, but in my experience it is entirely appropriate) and that is exactly why I have used the words "you can imagine" in my statement above. I genuinely cannot imagine, even in a made-up world, getting better service than that which the team at Martin & Co Crystal Palace provides. They go above-and-beyond in every way. No longer am I nervous when there's an issue with the flat - the team will personally see to it that an mitigating options are tried before they book in a professional. No more unnecessary fees/bills for a boiler which just needed to be turned off and back on again! As mentioned, the service is incredible. The team is always quick to respond to queries and will bend over backwards if they can help. I have to mention a particular scenario which also highlights how the team cares for its tenants just as much as for the landlords who employ them (this was an important factor for us). We had some new tenants move in and, after a year or so, having already renewed their original lease, sadly their relationship had run its course. The team here contacted me and explained the situation asking if we would agree to them ending their tenancy early. I feel most agents wouldn't even entertain contacting the landlord about something like this due to signed contracts. Even though this was during the first COVID lockdown, we immediately agreed due to the circumstances discussed. The team were able to find us a new tenant immediately (again, during lockdown) and the transition was absolutely seamless. Even though we were located so far away, everything was handled completely stress-free for us. If you are in Crystal Palace or surrounding areas you absolutely must employ Martin & Co. They literally are top-tier in every sense. If you are not based near by, you should do what you can to persuade them to take your property on to their books. They really are that good.

Michael called first thing in the morning and arranged a viewing the same day in the afternoon. By the evening the Flat was ours.
