We were initially signed with another estate agent in an attempt to sell our house in Croydon and met Chris Suppu at a house viewing. Having failed to sell our house after months of being on the market, we ended our contract with the previous agent and decided to sign with Chris at James Chiltern. We valued Chris' honesty and ability to communicate complex things clearly. Chris made a huge effort to bring in serious buyers and we felt very optimistic throughout the process. He was transparent and gave great advice. We were incredibly pleased when he secured an offer on our house and eventually completed the sale. From beginning to end, Chris was available and supportive. His wealth of experience was invaluable to us. He was patient, consistent and went above and beyond to keep us updated and consistently pushed things to progress things forward. From giving us recommendations to helping us dissect legal processes, Chris was irreplaceable in his service and knowledge. Even when there were complications beyond our control, Chris was at the forefront communicating with all parties and relaying information. We can't thank Chris and James Chiltern enough for helping us sell our house. Chris you're a legend!

I was eagerly looking to move in to a new house ; hence had contacted numerous Estate agents, no doubt all displayed apt professionalism. However the proactivness and customer experience displayed by Stahl Fernandes and his team ( JC branch at london road) was stupendous. Been with James Chiltern from 2015 until last week when we moved out of the area. A very professional team lead by Ayazz, friendly, polite and know there stuff. Any issues as a tenant was dealt with, professional and with care. If you popped in for any reason it was more like seeing some friends rather than an agency. If there was an option, I would have given it 0 stars.For the past two and a half months, we have been complaining about the water leaking in our bathroom. After making many requests, an elderly contractor finally came and said he would come back later without doing anything. We have called the agency several times and sent messages. Most of the time, they do not even respond. Even we got a letter from thames water mentioning about the leak which was sent to the agency.we have been paying the expensive water bill for two and a half months. After that, our induction stove broke. It has been two weeks now. Even after telling them about it, they have not come to do anything. It has been two weeks since we cooked properly.. No matter what we say, it is the same. No responsibility to the client.We are completely lost.

I feel blessed to have JC as my 1st Estate Agent in London. Almost a year ago when I was looking for a Room to move out to, being a Part-Time Student and a Full-Time worker, JC came to the rescue. The staff at JC have always been warm, approacheable, professional and considerate. PART 1 When looking for a flat to share with 2 other women, we found a property let by James Chiltern. At first James Chiltern was professional and we had no reason to believe that the move was going to be anything other than expected when moving into somewhere new. All regular checks etc. However, my emails asking for the safety certificates and requests were never answered, even when chased. Naively, I carried on with the move and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, as soon as we arrived to the property issues arose and hour by hour the issues become more serious, to the point the flat was inhabitable. Issues that came alight during the 24 hours we managed to stay in the property was genuinely shocking. No fire alarms, carbon dioxide alarms, back door with no lock, broken windows, drain blockages, major leaks, gas boiler not functional. No working fridge or freezer. We contacted James Chiltern about these serious issues and the ‘landlord’ visited, which caused us more distress than anything else. James Chiltern did however manage to send two contractors, a general handy man to place a temporary fix on the broken window at the front of the property(attempted break in) and a temporary lock on the broken back door. Which at the time we were grateful for. However, in amongst these this chaos of our move in the ‘landlord’ (I am actually still unsure of who this man was, he was calling himself the landlord but also made it clear he didn’t own the property?), send round an extremely dodgy unsavoury character to dispose some unwanted furniture. We were made to feel unsafe and better communication/direction was needed by JChiltern to avoid this situation. We were confused and wondered why this property was even being allowed to be let, as it was extremely clear that the flat did not align with specific property standards, including fire safety and HMO regulations. Ultimately, myself and the two other tenants were forced to move out the following day. After being stern with the staff at James Chiltern, we managed to persuade a member of staff to make a personal visit to the property as we came to the realisation that it was not habitable for humans. Lawfully and unlawfully. Said person did eventually come, and the member of staff was shocked to say the least. This is when we learned that James Chiltern had a personal connection to the owner and HAD NOT SEEN the property they were letting. It was actually sad, as the estate agent explained to us that other staff at JC would not approve of her coming to the property as they lack understanding. I am grateful for her visit, she agreed and said it was inhabitable. She was shocked that we had moved in.

Our overall experience with this agency was extremely disappointing. Maintenance requests were constantly ignored, it often took multiple follow-ups over several months just to get any acknowledgment, and even then, contractors rarely showed up as scheduled. When it came to our deposit, the situation was even worse, with an unjustified upcharge and poor communication throughout the process. We ended our tenancy frustrated and disappointed, with several issues still unresolved. Definitely would not recommend.
