We recently used Maria B Evans for our house sale. They offer a very professional and personal service and go above and beyond what would be expected of an estate agent. They were extremely efficient and regularly updated us with progress. We were in a particularly long chain and Without the dogged determination of Sally and Davina I think our sale and purchase would have collapsed. We are eternally grateful to you all. Cannot speak highly enough of all the team. Thank you.

Service throughout was fantastic. I was kept fully informed during the entire buying process and the experience and service shown by Davina and Sally in particular was fantastic when moving along the other companies in the process when they slowed down and caused delays. Really felt like I was being helped over the line to get this completed without being pressured. Recommend to anyone buying in the area.

As a first time buyer, Maria B Evans were extremely helpful in pushing the process along, chasing solicitors, and getting answers to our questions in what seemed like a more complex transaction than normal. Great communication, a willingness to help and nice gift when it all finally went through. Thanks!

Davina and Sally, we're first rate all the way through our purchase. Without their patience and perseverance I have no doubt that the purchase would have failed. They managed two sets of solicitors, a buyer and seller relationship and were always available and considerate. We couldn't recommend them highly enough. Thanks

I had the awful misfortune to encounter this terrible woman 'Maria' on a viewing of a property nr Upholland. A most dreadful individual. Tried to rush our viewing and became defensive and hostile when pressed for further information about the said property. A very very bizarre individual who really needs to change her vocation in life. Maybe a lemon tester would be a more appropriate role for such a sour rude person. Update: this TRUE review will not be removed despite Her best efforts. Avoid this unethical and rude company. Go elsewhere where the ethic isn't what they can make from you, more what they can make for you. You have been warned

Highly recommend this agency.Maria and Victoria are friendly and professional, they made our move to this house smooth and all through the year and half we spent here they made it stress-free for us,they would address any issue we have promptly with excellence whether big or small ,which is rare to find in an agency these days. We were always sure that we are well looked after. We'll have to move to another city and my wish is to find an agency as great as Maria's!

Do not let a property from this agent. Where do I begin, untrustworthy, dishonest, rude and I could go on. Firstly, a property was displayed for let in the billinge area. It commanded our attention straight away so prompted me to firstly email Maria B Evans estate agents based in Parbold, when I had received no response to this it was followed up with a phone call a couple of hours later. I spoke with a lady now known to me as Maria herself from the agent who agreed she had received the email & took a whole host of details from me and said they would see if it met with the approval of the landlord first. I received a call a short time later stating it did and was advised I could view the property on Thursday that week. I asked several questions about the property to be told there is someone of the other line she'd have to go. I should have realised at this point this agent were certainly not going to be reasonable. I viewed the property at 17.15 that Thursday. I arrived at 1700 and waited outside, The only other viewer arrived late at 17.10 for their appointment and ran inside. I left it a few minutes and followed suit. On getting inside I was greeted by the current tenants who answered most of the questions as the agent (Maria & young apprentice) could not answer them such as council tax band etc. I was shown around asked several questions, during this time the other viewer left the property. I was told by the agent if I was interested in letting the property (which I had firmly explained I was) to call their office in the morning and pay the fees. If the other viewer wanted the property then it would be the landlords decision. The following morning I rang the office to be greeted by the same lady (Maria) I had throughout. She stated, sorry the property is now let. When asked how this was possible she stated the other viewer had rang the office at 18.20 that evening and she was in the office after returning from the property and 'had' to take the call, it all seems very orcastrated. She then took payment and agreed over the phone. I voiced my concern as I was categorically told to ring the following morning to be told 'it's just the way it is unfortunately'. I then asked, as discussed with her previously, could my interest not be relayed to the landlord to which she stated no, we have already agreed with the other viewer. It is my opinion I never stood a chance in letting that property and had simply been called to view the house as a visible presence to secure the other viewer. I took time off work, arranged child care and was dismissed when I followed the simple instruction of the agent. The agent continuing to practice and take calls past the 17.30 close time is one excuse, but the following explanation that she then contacted the landlord who agreed as I may not be interested is just bad form. My interest was in little doubt. The property was always going to the other viewer, I have little doubt the call received around 1 hour after practising hours was far from coincidental, I never stood a chance . This agent thus far is the least transparent, highly disloyal and incredibly underhanded agent I have dealt with. They wouldn't stand a chance in the hypothetical customer service and general fair decency awards but they would walk the snobbery and un-trustworthy award hands down. Potential customer be aware, I would suggest my story is common practice unfortunately.

We have only just seen this appalling review left on this site and strongly refute the account given by the potential tenant and his derogatory comments. The gentleman contacted our company 10 November 2015 and we went through his details/requirements. We arranged an appointment for 12 November 2015 at 5.15pm to look at the property, we only do accompanied viewings. We stagger the viewings when we have a lot of interest into 15 minute slots. Prior to the gentleman viewing the property we got clearance from the landlord that if he was to take the property would his 5 year old spaniel be allowed - the landlord agreed to the pet. The gentleman viewed the property at the designated time (5.15pm), he explained he had not completed on the sale of his property, and was looking in the area for a suitable property but that his wife would also need to see the property and he would contact us in the morning to arrange another viewing. He made it clear he was not in a position to commit to taking the rental until his wife had viewed it. Children are always welcome at viewings, he chose not to bring his 3 year old daughter with him. We received a call the same evening of the viewing from the other viewer, a lady (also with a dog) who was currently in a rented property and therefore not dependent on a sale proceeding, who stated she wished to go ahead. We contacted the owner immediately who said he would prefer to have the lady who wished to commit immediately rather than wait for the gentleman who if he contacted us, would require a second viewing and no guarantee he would proceed. We therefore followed the instructions of the landlord and the property went to the lady who contacted us immediately to go ahead. These are the simple facts and if the gentleman had been prepared to make the decision that he should want it instead of delaying we would have made the landlord aware of that. Rentals move very quickly and a delay can result in unfortunately you losing the property you wish to rent. We wish them the best in their property search.

The team at Maria B Evans have acted for me and my company for several years and have been fantastic to work with, they are all very professional but with a great sense of humour, all requests from me are acted on promptly and correctly, their advice has been second to none and I cannot think of another Estate Agent that I would rather want to deal with, I recommend them in either the sales or the letting fields. Outstanding service from Jo, keeps to her word & certainly knows the business, gives me confidence following many.months of mediocre service from estate agents across the Midlands & other areas. The quality of the photographs, maps, area information & property descriptions on the website are good, clear & extremely useful for one unfamiliar with the area. Overall, the best experience to date.

Thought real estate was an American term!!!!!! Parasites. Yea bet the charities and local business are eternally grateful lol. I don't suppose you make any money yourselves though do you guess you do it out of the goodness of your hearts don't make me laugh.

A · 7 April 2023

Agent replied · 6 July 2023

Good morning B Where the term Real Estate is now more generally used in America to describe property than in the UK, a quick google would suggest its origins are actually based here and date back to the 1660’s ( please see link attached - https://www.fastexpert.com/blog/why-real-estate-called-real-estate/) Where we don’t really use the term here in the office to describe ourselves, we do use Google, who are an American company, to create an online business profile, which is probably why you will see the term on our page and other Estate Agents pages too. As for your other comment, that’s down to your personal opinion. The many clients, local charities and small businesses we have helped support over the last 10 years would likely disagree.

Andrew, I am sorry to hear you've not had a reply to an email, I can see from the email steam at our end that we have spoken to you about several properties over the last few months via email and I know I've spoken to you about several houses and shown you at least one in person. We never like to comment on personal remarks made about members of the team, however, as the member of staff you appear to have directed this comment towards hasn't worked in the office for last 8 months, I am somewhat confused about the timing of your review? Please feel free to contact the office re any further properties that you feel may be suitable for you and your requirements and direct your enquiry to myself directly if you like. My dealings with Maria and her staff are always both very friendly and extremely professional. On the rental side, Maria B Evans is looking after two properties for me and they have found great and reliable tenants. Also they arranged for all the snagging problems to be resolved on a newly renovated house both efficiently and economically. I would have no reservations in recommending them.
