To update this review, we have used Venture in Crook to sell the property and this has been the easiest of processes. We were fully supported, with excellent communication from Angela and the Team. We are moving permanently up to County Durham and only wish that our Estate Agents in Chichester were as good. There is no comparison between the 2. We have had excellent service from the team at Venture Properties in Crook. They were the only estate agent that we tried who seemed to care about our needs, and as a cash buyer, we were looked after really well, with plenty of options sent through for us to consider. As we were travelling up to the area, everything was put in place for us to visit our chosen properties and we met a lovely family who were looking to buy a bigger home. The whole process has been so easy, with great communication and a stress free transaction. Thank you all for your help and support.

We moved in March 2023 Landlord was relatively accommoding when moving in, house was nice and clean and seemed ok. As we were moving in there was some garage works as the ceiling was falling apart, they got a contractor in, and he did a pretty rough job but it worked so no complaints from us, we are not unreasonable as long as it does the job. Shortly after this, there were issues with leaking, and they had a contractor out to fix the roof above the garage, this was only noticed due to the newly replaced ceiling being soaking wet. This was not replaced after the roof was repaired. I took a day off work for this contractor to show up, who actually showed up at 7:30am the day after they told me, as i was leaving, going to work, with my only option to give him a key if I wanted this fixed anytime soon. They had photos of this ceiling submitted by me which is why they got the roof fixed in the first place. One of these tiles ripped and swug off the ceiling (probably becuase it was soaking wet and damaged) while me and my roommate were in the garage almost hitting him. After this happened, we reported it as a seperate incident to the initial one, as there was now a hole. This initially wouldn't have been an issue as it was only leaking if it rained heavily. But now it was leaking regardless wether it rained or not. I heard nothing for months, I didn't even get an email addressing the hole in the ceiling. As we were going through the process of leaving the property I mentioned this - they say they were not legally 'required' to fix the issue as it was not a part of the 'structure' to the house(roof being structure, ceiling apparently not). This caused some tension as I considered water and bugs crawling into my house a concern - which was only escalated by the fact that the people answering their phones have clearly had no customer service training given the way they speak - at one point genuinely shouting 'no we don't, no we don't, no we don't' before hanging up the phone (referring to the fact they do NOT have to fix this hole) While I can understand standing on legal grounds, you may not have to fix it. But as a letting agency, you have an obligation to the people in your properties - would you consider this acceptable in your home? After moving home, and hiring cleaning services to clean the property, we waited. There were some items left and some minor paint issues which we were prepared to pay for in full as well as the removal of the items. They tried to charge us 200 for a 'Full property clean' based on an inspection not 24 hours after it had been cleaned as well as an absurd amount of money for a full paint of multiple walls which we were not liable for - it's worth mentioning that both an online submission and in person issues had been raised about the shoddy paint job as it was flaking all over the house and they were aware of this from DAY 1. We were forced to pay money to dispute this, and when trying to contact the letting agency, they completely washed their hands of it (i guess because we weren't paying them money as we'd moved) and refused to even get in touch with the landlord for us. These charges were then reduced significantly after third party arbitration, likely after realising they were inflating the numbers. Overall, I don't think they are too bad, if you are a landlord, they prioritise your needs and help you make a profit. As a tenant, I wouldn't recommend them as it's clear they will stand by their legal obligations, but not their human obligations.
