TrustpilotHouse Sold
Most aspects of Robinsons were great in selling my house - notably the house evaluation and speedy to market setup plus the pay after sale costs really gave a low risk strategy. When the offer came in; I felt I was a little by myself in the negotiation. It was my own pushing for more which was against the advice given to me that gained extra in the sale price. I guess each negotiation is different though and perhaps I was lucky.I must note feedback from my buyer who mentioned Robinsons seemed to prefer to deal with her mother which was disappointing to her.Ultimately, we put the house up for sale with Robinsons and they helped us sell it in a reasonable timeframe which is exactly what we wanted, and we'll always appreciate that.

TrustpilotRobinsons estate agents Sedgefield …
Robinsons estate agents at the Sedgefield branch, have been amazing with the sale of my late mother’s bungalow. From Ryan’s first visit being so caring, along with Sharon’s jolly nature and being so experienced to Danni being so polite keeping us informed. They have all been very thoughtful and amazing at this sensitive time.

TrustpilotComplain
To whom may concern,I was on my way to see the house on sunday January 19th 2020 and the person in charge to show me the property called me 40 minutes before the appointment (11a.m.) saying that he cannot show me the house cause the tenants are not available before 12 p.m. without explain the reasons.I consider this unacceptable behaviour from both parties since I organised this view almost 1 week ago and there was plenty of time to organise themself and eventually reschedule the viewing.I was already on my way to see the property when i received the call.I organise my journey and I do think people can organise theirs so I found unacceptable and rude and unprofessional what just happened to me.I'd like to remind that everybody in this world have plans during the day so it is ridiculous trying to postpone a viewing 40 minutes before the actual viewing.

Excellent help and the highest standard of customer service from every staff member I dealt with, everyone at Robinson's made my house purchase incredibly straight forward, stress and hassle free from the day my offer was accepted and I was most certainly treated as an individual. Nothing was ever too much trouble and I was kept up to date on a regular basis as to how my purchase was progressing. My particular thanks have to go to Joy, the sales progressor, who was amazing, an outstanding professional, a really lovely lady and a pleasure to deal with.

Katherine Quinton Has been fantastic since start. We fist came in via Loui and he was awesome what he said he would do he would and his advice was second to non. But in a tough market you really see the value of a physical estate agent and Robinsons are second to non. Katherine rings me every week and has helped me and support me since our instruction. If you think off using a on-line estate agent then think again the value of real people have a true value well done to Katherine for your constant support x

TrustpilotAppalling letting agents.
On average I called Robinson’s letting agents 3 times a week trying to sort out various problems, namely a shower which during my year of renting their property never produced hot water. As a result of this I developed a medical condition that forced me to move back to my family home for 3 weeks. During this time period I spent a night in A and E and was told that had my condition been left any longer I would have had to have an operation. I had 7 months continuing on this lease, and although I explained how the poor living conditions had resulted in me going into hospital, the shower was never fixed. Luckily, I had friends in other houses who were equally appalled by Robinson’s treatment of me and allowed me to use their showers. I have always maintained my side of the contract. I have always paid my rent on time and respected the property. However, they have not complied with the regulations outlined on the gov.uk renting page, which states that landlords are always responsible for sanitary fittings, heating and hot water. Despite my horrific ordeal, I struggled to get my deposit back. At no point has anyone apologised for the appalling living standards that I have had to endure. I feel completely exploited by this company and would never use them again.

TrustpilotWarning to guarantors of student accommodation
The students endured appalling living conditions during their years tenancy; no hot water, freezing conditions, lights not working, black stains on the shower, overgrown garden and house rancid on arrival (including unclean, un-flushed toilet) etc. After complaining, they were informed that the house had been professionally cleaned which we struggle to believe. The letting agents were rude, unhelpful, inefficient and seemingly always out of the office. The only time anything might have been faintly sorted was when parents called, showing a complete disregard for the students who had to live in these awful conditions. The students signed a contract that was never seen by the guarantors. In our circumstance the guarantor contract did not state that the students had signed a joint and several contract. We were informed by the letting agent at the end of the contract, once payments had not been made by some tenants, that due to the joint and several contract we were liable to pay any outstanding rent owed by any of the members living in the property. This felt extremely unfair as we had always paid the full amount on time and were completely unaware of the clause in the contract. After the initial signing, the contract was only made available to the students and guarantors once payments were due. The agency proceeded to withhold the deposits. The fact that they were withholding our money was informed via email and when we tried to call the office multiple times that day, the student coordinator who had sent the email, was seemly unavailable. This added to frustration as we were very concerned that despite having paid our share of the rent, we were suddenly faced with the possibility of having to find a great deal of money to pay for the unpaid rent of other tenants. After multiple phone calls we called at the end of the working day and were told once again that the student coordinator was with a client and we would have to call later. Concerned that we were being ignored and that the coordinator was skirting their responsibility, we said we would hold and wait until she finished with her client. Miraculously, she finished with her client within 20 seconds and was suddenly available to talk. We were told that the students should discuss this amongst themselves, highlighting the company’s idleness once more. It is the agency’s responsibility to ensure that rent is paid, not the other tenants. At no point did we receive an apology for their poor handling of the situation, and the company showed complete disregard for the stress incurred. It’s very disheartening to have been in this position when you have upheld your side of the bargain and paid all your share of the rent. We would never have agreed to be guarantors if we had been aware that it was a joint and several contract, and this information should have been readily available to the guarantors. Many 18/19 year old students will have never signed a contact before, as Robinson’s are aware, so they draw a contract that works greatly in their favour and exploits their naivety. The students were only given one contract to read. As this was a joint and several contract, each student and guarantor should have been given a copy of the contract to read to ensure that each guarantor is happy to guarantee all students living in the property. Robinson’s should have also encouraged students to seek separate legal advice before signing, as its highly probable that they had no idea what a joint and several contract was.Having looked at the directors responses to any complaints regarding the service, it is clear that the director always has a similar response. Rather than listening to the customers and apologising for their experience, they belligerently inform the customer how great the company is. The company’s unwillingness to see any fault and hold themselves accountable for any wrongdoing is why our experience has been so poor. This agency lacks honesty, integrity and morals.

TrustpilotHouse Sale In Fishburn, County Durham
I recently sold a property through Robinson's in Sedgefield and would like to personally praise Sharon who worked tirelessly to make sure everything went through.Through the solicitors it became quite an arduous process but Sharon not only diligently dealt with the work expected of the Estate Agent but ended up acting as go between with the buyers, their solicitors, financial advisors and my solicitors. This work was at times lengthy but I was kept well informed and up to date with developments at all times.I would have no hesitation recommending Robinsons to anyone looking to sell their property.

TrustpilotMisleading, rude staff. Will let you down for sure, as they did with me and many others!
Rude and dishonest company. Not professional whatsoever. The representative are very rude, they don't communicate with each other. they are very confused and don't really know how to deal with clients. They have been dishonest with me and very negative of the sale/rent/ manage my property. Robinson will let you down for sure! They have done to me and I am sure I am not the only person. My next step will be to report Robinson to trading standard. I believe if their is any kind of misleading should be reported as this can affect more people if not dealt with. Even from the reply you can tell how Robinson don’t care about they client. Misleading clients is breaking the law mr Director! Shame that you don’t think that!

TrustpilotVery poor communication
Very poor communicationEDIT TO INITIAL ENTRYI received a phone call to discuss why I had given a poor review of the communications and I now see the response below that everything stemmed from setting a moving date, this is incorrect, which is another reflection of the poor communication from Robinsons. I explained on the phone that we were unable to contact Robinsons on many occasions to discuss the purchase of a property and whilst many times I was told someone would phone back, they very rarely did. We found it very disheartening to eventually speak to disinterested staff, one in particular. What was also frustrating was that solicitors were also struggling to contact Robinsons. I made it very clear I my phone call following my review that I was aware that the agreement to moving dates was down to solicitors and not Robinsons. I wouldn't recommend.

Hi AnonThank you for posting your review. I have spoken to the manager at the Crook Office who i understand rang you to discuss your review. I understand the main problem was with the completion dates. As Alex would explain the completion dates on a sale and purchase are discussed and agreed between solicitors. As Estate Agents we do not get involved in the setting and agreeing of these dates. We do not feel that your 1 star review is a fair reflection on the service that was provided in this case. Thanks again for your review.RegardsSimon Wright.Director.

TrustpilotCheap but not value for money.
Cheap but not value for money.Although the cheapest in the area they did not seem to actively market the property, keep us up updated or give us a direct/constant contact point. They promised to do the viewings on a vacant property but never managed a single one.Despite that we fell lucky and a buyer was found very quickly who liked the house, the area and wanted to move quickly. We did the negotiations and the buyer pushed the sale through quickly, no involvement or help by Robinsons. The biggest expense in this house sale, that only lasted 2 months, was Robinsons. The bill was 3 times the legal fees!!

Currently living next door to a property rented out by Robinson’s estate agent, we share a fence that is the rented houses responsibility, 1/2 of the fence is practically falling down and was reported by the tenant approx 8 weeks ago which has still not been repaired. After chasing this up today we have been told as it’s not an emergency and they are unable to give us a timescale of how long the repair/replacement is going to take. I thought Robinson’s would have a little more pride in the appearance of the houses they rent out and for the people living next door to them but obviously I was wrong. It is now the 2nd of July and still the fence has not been repaired! I look forward to your response Mr Wright.

TrustpilotA professional customer focused organisation, great to work with..
I picked Robinsons estate agents to sell two properties because they appeared to offer the best combination of local service and value for money. During the course of the sales there were a number of problems around surveys etc and Robinsons went out of their way to assist. They were always contactable and responsive and came up with solutions which enabled the sales to proceed. They made what could have been very difficult very straightforward, particularly as I do not live in the area. Elaine in particular in the middlesbrough office was great to deal and was very customer focussed. I would not hesitate to recommend Robinsons.
