I bought my new house through Shortland Horne and had an excellent experience. I dealt with Laura who helped me every step of the way with sharing advice, chasing solicitors and the upward chain and so on. It was invaluable during a very stressful time. I sold my own house through Purplebricks - never again! I always struggled to get hold of them and felt on my own, whereas Shorthand Horne it was great. Thank you!

I would not recommend Shortland Horne, it was obvious that they had overpriced the value of our home and I questioned their valuation on the basis of comparative properties. We went with their advice and never had an enquiry for 5 months, they then advised us to drop the price by 50K which we did bringing it to a realistic price. Fortunately they did find us a cash buyer but after agreeing a price and instructing solicitors Shortland Horne after sales assistant Linda nearly lost us the sale by advising our buyers to ‘have a plan B’ and to keep looking at other properties, she then told us that unless we could speed up our solicitor our buyers may pull out, we found out from our buyers that they were lied to as well. In the end I complained to our solicitor and she sent Linda Collins an email asking her not to contact us again and to only contact her. We found her to be extremely rude, overbearing and deliberately misleading. John Bowden

GoogleThe Most Unethical Property Agency I’ve Ever Encountered I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Shortland. Their and the landlord's consistent negligence forced me to escalate the issue to both the Council and the Property Redress Scheme. Though the Council couldn't intervene in time, the Redress Scheme ruled in my favour and ordered Shortland to pay compensation. Throughout the tenancy and the complaint process, Shortland consistently deflected responsibility and never offered an apology. Even during the compensation case, they attempted to shift blame, which was rightly dismissed I contacted Shortland by email on the 25th of July as they request in their reply below, but no one has answered. This was the most unethical and unprofessional service I've encountered.

I sold my house with Shortland Horne last year. Sue and her team were great at getting things done quickly. The sale of my house was very efficient and when there were issues with my purchase (not through shortland Horne) Sue and her team would chase this up for me on my behalf.

This is the first time we have used Shortland Horne. Our 2 contacts were Andy (Sales) and Shelley (Aftersales) Both were very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Communication was excellent. They took responsibility for keys and viewings and kept us informed throughout the whole process. Shelley went above and beyond, liaising with our buyers and solicitors, keeping us informed every step of the way.Would definitely recommend Shortland Horne from our positive experience.

We were quite nervous about choosing an estate agent as we had not moved for 33 years. However Chris made us feel confident straight away that they would do a good job for us. Chris was very friendly and put us at ease, and we soon had many prospective buyers coming to view. On the day of completion in January Linda very kindly looked after us giving us coffee while we waited for the release of the keys. Great service!

GoogleThe team at Shortland Horne have been a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended for anyone looking to sell their home. Started out with Rich coming round for the valuation, was really honest and enthusiastic about the house. We didn't feel like we were getting a performance, rather we were getting someone who was confident in what they told us. When we signed up, we were open in our expectations as we didn't want to list immediately and we got exactly as we asked. We didn't want to be too involved in the sale which was no issue. Viewings were conducted without us being around and we had agreed a sale within a few days of the first. The guys in the office were great at answering any queries and were happy to run over to get us final meter readings after we had moved from the area. If you are looking to sell and don't want to be stuck with a poor team who don't care, Shortland Horne is who you need to go with. GoogleI am extremely disappointed with my experience. I specifically enquired about this property and was clearly told it was pet friendly before arranging a viewing. Based on that information, I travelled all the way from London to view it, as I am urgently looking for accommodation due to work commitments. After taking the time, money and petrol to attend the viewing, I was then informed that the landlord had rejected my application due to my pets (two small dogs - which i even included were fully trained) - which makes no sense given I was assured from the start that the property was pet friendly and to double check I had even asked the same in the viewing. I have two years of excellent references from my previous landlord, who happily housed both of my pets and returned my full deposit as I left the property in impeccable condition. This situation felt very misleading and has resulted in a complete waste of my time and money. I would not have travelled such a distance had I been given accurate information from the beginning.

I was helping out my sister to sell her house in Coventry and so needed a Real Estate agent whom we could trust, rely on and be responsive. By reading the reviews of this branch, we decided to choose them as our agent. We are so glad that we did, they are the top notch Real Estate agents (Sue and Richard) and my sister's house was sold very quick and smooth. They provided excellent communication and kept us informed throughout every step of the way, even the viewings' schedules and feedback....etc.. When it comes to offers, Sue (the manager) provided us with expert guidance on what one should be considered based on different market factors. Sue and her staff team were so helpful, professional, knowledgeable and responsiveness. I highly recommend Shortland Horne the Walsgrave Road branch for their exceptional services!

All staff were professional and helpful, they responded to queries in a timely manner and were available both on the telephone and via email. Sue went above and beyond her role in advocating on our behalf to our buyers and their solicitor and I do not know to this day whether we would have made it to completion without her dedication and diligence, we couldn't thank her and her team enough!!

GoogleThe service provided by Sue and Richard Costello at the Walsgrave branch was exemplary from the beginning of the sales process for my Mother’s house. Both Sue and Richard were incredibly professional , supportive and reassuring throughout which was hugely appreciated by my family particularly my Mother. I would like to emphasise that nothing was too much trouble for Sue and Richard with Sue going above and beyond in assisting my Mother when she was experiencing some technical issues with some documents. This underlined the personal approach which I felt deserved recognition with the owner of Shortland Horne. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Shortland Horne to anyone selling their home in the Coventry area. Thank you again to Sue and Richard for an excellent service .

GoogleTotally fabulous service. Sue and the team held my hand through the sake of my mums bungalow. Living 200 miles away I needed someone I could trust and Totally rely on and I found them. Sue said they could sell the property quickly and she did just that. During the process of solicitors talking to each other she managed the whole thing. They was very good they did not sell our house it was on the market for 5 Mouths and we had 4 viewing in that time we thought that was low and could not understand why we was not getting more viewing. We would use them again but ask them to market the property different way. (the Parking)

GoogleThis company demonstrates an extremely poor standard of professionalism and customer service. A property viewing was booked and confirmed for 1:30pm on 20 December, including explicit confirmation earlier in the week with a member of staff named Emily. Despite this, I received a call the afternoon before the appointment informing me that the viewing could now only take place at 12:30pm. I made it clear that this was not feasible, as my entire week had been planned around the originally confirmed time and I was travelling from London. No attempt was made to offer a reasonable alternative or compromise. I was simply told that someone was unwell and that 12:30pm was the only option to “fit the diary,” with no regard for my prior confirmation or travel arrangements. In an effort to accommodate their last-minute change, my partner, who lives near Coventry, attended at 12:30pm. I arrived at 12:45pm, having travelled from London. Despite this minimal delay, the agent on site rushed my partner through the property, repeatedly attempting to end the viewing. Upon my arrival, I was refused entry entirely and was not allowed to view the property at all. When I contacted the estate agency to address the situation, responsibility was shifted entirely onto me, with staff stating that the incident was “my fault.” To make matters worse, the agent conducting the viewing used foul and inappropriate language towards us, which is wholly unacceptable in any professional setting. This experience reflects a complete lack of organisation, accountability, and basic courtesy. The company showed no respect for confirmed appointments, client time, or professional conduct. I would strongly advise others to avoid engaging with this business, as it appears incapable of delivering even the most fundamental level of service.

Phone attendant was rude and unhelpful while trying to locate the property, I was there well before the agreed time. They left the property before I could view. I was being respectful trying to explain I couldn’t locate the block; I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to anyone so unprofessional before, like you’re doing me a favour or giving me a free house.

After being badly advised by a different company and a sale falling through, Shortland Horne quickly sold our house for us with excellent advice meaning we got the best price possible. Viewings were organised well and went smoothly, with as little disruption to family life as possible. The aftercare team were great at chasing the solicitors and helping move the sale forward. Linda was always happy to provide an update.The only reason it's not a 5 star review is because we gave them a key to conduct viewings and they immediately lost it. Luckily it wasn't marked with any details.We would definitely recommend Shortland Horne over some other estate agents in Coventry.

We used Shortland Horne for the sale of our late mothers house. Jon was realistic on the valuation of the house, clear on the market position, and extremely easy to trust. The team at the office did what they promised and when. In the closing details of the sale when the rubber hit the road, and for us, when the buyers solicitors asked for documents unrealistically, Sue stepped in to save the day. Would I recommend Shortland Horne? Yes if you want to leave the selling of your house to those who know the business.
