Zero star not available

Zero star not available. As a landlord they always blamed other people, never took accountability. Complaints process only active on socials but details on their “investigation” never posted and hidden

Connells warndon.

Connells warndon.Terrible. Just brought our first house and the seller used these lot. We had to chase all the time, not kept in the loop at all. I was led to believe I was in a bidding war with interested party, turns out they lied. I paid an extra 2 grand for nothing. On completion they gv my mrs a welcome pack with random stuff which several were out of date. Steer clear, bunch of muppets is putting it very lightly

Great service e

I have recently moved into a rental property, moving house can be very stressful and Connells made the transition into our new property almost stress free. James kept in touch with us to keep us updated on a weekly basis so we knew what to expect and was prompt with any questions or queries we had.I will definitely be recommending Connells in the future.

A big thank you to Kelly for offering a very personal and extremely easy experience in renting my property. It had been so effortless which is exactly what I required and tenants were found within a week.Thank you for going over and beyond Kelly nothing was ever too much effort for you, a true credit to the company and gold star service. Residential Lettings service apalling

We used Connells letting service to save us time for a considerably large fee. Not only was the tenant very disappointed with their service but Connells asked us for the names of contractors and in one case asked us to organise the service that we had paid them to provide. We never had the same person dealing with anything and even when we dismissed them we had to resort to their complaints process to partially resolve the issue. Steer well clear is my advice as you will pay for a service that you not receive. Never again.

Dealing with Connells has been an absolute nightmare. They are painfully slow to respond, regularly ignored my emails, and never pushed the buyers for updates. It felt like we were doing all the chasing while they just sat back.

Connells North St Bristol

Connells North St Bristol Speaking as a landlord I would not use this particular branch of Connells again. While getting some properties valued recently the agent and I got chatting,I explained I had a difficult tenant and due to my age I was thinking of handing my residential portfolio over to a property management company. He advised me to use his team (only one person at this particular branch) and me being keen for an easy life contacted Beth. While I should stress that the team I spoke to in her absence (kingswood branch) came across as wanting to help me and also very professional as was the sales team at this branch,I can honestly say I don’t feel the same way about Beth. I felt like she was under the impression she was me a favour rather than charging me 11% something she actually did say is I’m dealing with the tenant for free despite me telling her to bill me for it. The whole point of me letting her deal with this particularly tenant was to see if she would be capable of looking after my portfolio. I personally feel this would be something she would not be capable of doing.

Left alone to deal with a tenant who doesn’t want to leave after being served with a notice.

I directed Connells that I needed my property back and they advised the customer of my instructions. They told me the customer has to save the notice period, which is about a month and a half. As I’m writing this review, Almost 6 months later, the tenant still hasn’t left the property. There hasn’t been any updates from Connells regarding the eviction notice. They left me to deal with the tenant (which hasn’t been easy) although THEY ARE STILL COLLECTING MONTHLY FEES from this property. I have now decided to go the legal route…will update in due course

When is an auction not an auction - seller beware

Seller beware of signing up to the Modern Auction method of selling your house. I did and wasn’t given the contract to read before signing up or sent a copy to allow the cooling off period by the Watford branch. Apart from being told this would be easy and bidding was like on EBay. Interested buyers would bid and the idea was that the price would reach the reserve or above. The buyer pays 4.2% above the sale price and the seller pays no commission. All good so far! In reality people who view make an offer and as in The traditional selling method the offer is put to the seller. If the offer is refused the buyer is under no obligation to put that bid on the Iamsold website to generate more bids. So for 6O days my house stayed at its original starting price even though people had made offers moving towards the reserve price. People on the watchlist saw none of this as nothing happened. And it certainly didn’t generate a ‘bidding frenzy’I gave notice on the contract and was told it would cost me nothing. SELLER BEWARE clause 3 of the contract which I had never been given a copy of stated that I would be liable to pay the 4.2% for the next 12 MONTHS if anyone Connells had introduced subsequently bought the house. A list of 60 people. Going to a new agent you are tied to Connells for 12 MONTHS and the new agent is obliged to tell Connells if someone from the list buys the house. You, the seller then incurs the 4.2% commission charge plus the commission charge to the new agent. This does not happen if you stay with Connells and use the traditional method. However as they introduced 60 people and failed to sell the house, which by the way was valued much higher at the start of the process and the again by an independent agent more recently, they are unlikely to be able to sell it at a higher price. For a buyer a £300,000 house will cost around an extra £20,000 on top of the buying price with stamp duty and 4.2%. In my opinion The traditional method where the price starts high and buyers make offers gives a far better deal to both seller and buyer as both are in control of the sale price and end costs and there is no ambiguity.

Connells - the most unprofessional estate agent in …

The most unprofessional estate agent in the UK. While selling our property Connells showed as the most unreliable agency to work with. All is bad about it: from pictures they take to advertise a property (very poor quality and unprofessional) to way of communication with me (never come back with the feedback after viewings, never calls you back when you leave a message). Please don't waste your time with Connells

False advertising, lack of communication and professionalism

Connells MaidstoneWe recently rented a property that was advertised as partly furnished. On both the website and after enquiring they confirmed that would include only the white goods. However after moving in we found multiple piece of furniture that were not communicated and now they are asking us to pay for storage in case we don't want them in the house! If you are dealing with them make sure you go through every little detail before you make any decision - overall very poor experience..

Connells Coventry branch

Bought this house via Connells so I expected they'd be able to sell it again. Fat chance. As others have said they got me to drop the price pretty soon into the process. They didn't mention my house on their Facebook page without prompting. They didn't put up a for sale sign without prompting. They turned up for one viewing without realising they had my keys and were expecting me to let them in. They promised feedback on viewings which they did not give and the penultimate straw was coming home one Friday after a viewing to find my front door unlocked. They did not answer my emails without multiple prompts, including my cancellation request and at the time of writing they have ignored another set of emails asking them to drop off my keys. If they fail do so when specified I will report the theft of the keys to the police. Spivs and incompetents all round. Avoid if you want to sell your house.

Poor Experience

We used them via Persimmons home exchange. The initial valuation and communication with them was great as they want to get your custom. They were meant to phone us/ email about our house listing so we could proof read it before it was put on the market. They listed our house as leasehold and made up information about this lease.. The property is freehold.. 🙄 we contacted them about this and they said it takes a week to amend it on the website. 2 weeks later it is still currently listed wrong.Anyway, this probably lost us quite a few potential buyers but luckily we also had our house listed with a local estate agent who marketed our house correctly and we sold within a week with them!

I was a prospective tenant for one of the properties listed with them. They cancelled a viewing 2 hrs before the appointment saying the house was having 'some work done'. We rebooked the viewing for 2 days later and I called on the day of the viewing to confirm some details about the property. It was only then that I was informed that the property was not available. They had not bothered to contact me to cancel the viewing (was meant to happen in less than 2 hours). They did not apologise and were actually quite rude. I don't trust them at all and wouldn't be surprised if the information I was given was untrue. I would not recommend them!

I do not recommend

This agency performed a sales and rental valuation at my property. After the total renovation of my house was estimated at £1,600 per month as renting price. Using any website that rents houses in my area the monthly price is around £2,000 in lower standards. The hours in which you can receive apointments are between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. When I asked about later hours, I received the answer that I had to take a day off from work. The agent was very young and his behavior was unpleasant.I must add that I had a total of four agents. I received quotes of £2000 pm or more from three of them.

Avoid Coventry branch sellers.

Coventry branch... I found a member of your staff extremely unhelpful and rude. You can find out who this is by pulling my details and who I've spoken to (if you care?) Two rightmove enquiries and promised calls back with info. I I had to chase twice. To be told rent is "about 900" - when your selling an investment property how can you possibly not have that information and expect landlords to make a decision? The it turns out when you check its £750....It's super unprofessional and I would not be satisfied if I was the homeowner that you are not following up viewing enquiries and that you are not able to give basic info on propertiesFeel free to pull calls with me and listen to how I was handled and how your staff are treating customers. No longer want to view!!! From your Coventry branch.
