Myself and my wife used Mov8 and have received absolutely excellent service. From the start and right up to settlement completion yesterday, everything was handled brilliantly, we were so happy with how detailed and supportive our solicitor Iqra was. Even if I was about to email with any sort of questions, I'd receive an email from Iqra leaving me not even needing to send my email or ask anything. Used Mov8 for conveyance to buy my first home. Was assigned a trainee solicitor who never met us, never shared any update with us. Just no personal touch. Kept everything till the last date. We didn’t know we would get the house until the last hour. We being new to the property market had a few questions and doubts. When we asked our solicitor who was our personal solicitor we were met by someone who was robotic and didn’t care and was just doing her job. No personal touch. When I was enquiring and shopping around to find a solicitor Mov8 customer service was the best. I mean the best… follow up calls and emails etc… but once we decided to go ahead with them the relationship just died. Our solicitor just sent an email to us asking for docs.. no personal call to introduce herself and explain the process and what will happen. Nothing. We ignored this and felt it’s ok but when things were just left till thxx we last minute is when we lost it. Can you imagine not knowing whether you will move into your new home or not till noon the day you have to move out of your old home. Update. The more the time goes by the more I regret using this company. Our lawyer did NOT advise us anything. Did not explain anything. We were in the dark and just went through it blind. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone buying their house. Just to add. When our offer was accepted we wanted to visit the house to just check on it again to see if we missed anything. We were told by the seller’s lawyer we cannot until the missils or something is exchanged. We checked this with our dear Mov8 solicitor who agreed and didn’t make any effort to help us view the house again. And we didn’t until we paid the money and got the keys. Now I come to know we can view the house after your offer is accepted. Our lawyer didn’t help us do this! In fact she collaborated with the seller’s lawyer to keep us in the dark and prevent us from viewing the house. Only after we move in we come to know the bathroom aesthetically covered up and needed a whole new renovation. We trusted this solicitor and this agency and they back stabbed us!

That was a mistake, and we had a lot of issues and too much stress. Fortunately, MOV8 accepted to take over our case, and it was a night and day difference. Move8 were the solicitors of the sellers of the property I recently bought. We had some issues throughout the process. Before completion Move8 did not have paperwork regarding an outstanding Statutory Notice for the property that they should have had, given that they had also been the buying solicitor when the previous owners bought the property. This almost resulted in a delay with our sale but luckily our solicitor was able to secure the paperwork, with no support from Move8. There were also communication issues about what the sellers were leaving - I.e white goods. They tried to sell us some of their furniture but then wouldn’t engage further when we tried to confirm this. Once we moved in there were several issues with the property that breached the Scottish Standard Clauses. We reported these via our solicitors but the communication broke down after that. We’ve made several attempts to continue communication and have been shut down. I’m surprised by the number of positive reviews here as it does not match what I’ve heard via word of mouth - I will be steering clear of Move8 as either a buyer or a seller in future.

Maxine was really helpful when we were starting to look into buying a house, and made offers swiftly and was patient. Our solicitor Kim was great, responded very fast to queries, sometimes within minutes. I didn't think we would buy the house in the time quoted (as naively I thought it seemed too quick), but we did thanks to Mov8. My only criticism is the online dashboard didn't seem to always reflect what was happening, even now it's marked as ~60% complete but we have completed buying the house. However, friendly, knowledgeable and responsive staff throughout the entire process. We would use Mov8 again in future.

Mov8 Solicitors used for the concurrent sale and purchase of a house. Got the job done. A mostly excellent service with a short period of poor service. We used Mov8 for the sale of a house in Fife to cover the purchase of a new house in Perthshire. The new client team (Maxine, Chloe, Erin) who handled our initial interactions were excellent at communicating with us through the process of making offers (2 unsuccessful, 1 successful) for a new house. They were responsive by email and could be contacted easily over the phone. When on leave the team managed to delegate seamlessly to another team member, which was particularly useful when having to bid by deadlines. When our offer was accepted on our house to purchase, it then turned to us listing our old house for sale. After going to market and accepting an offer, this is where we went through to the case managers to start the conveyancing process. Unfortunately, this is where is took a dip in service, our initial case manager (no longer working with the firm) did not respond to any emails and was latterly found out to have done very little to no work starting the conveyancing process. This was highly disappointing given the excellent communication & service we had experienced from new client team. The long story short is we found out five days before our intended 'case completion' date of the concurrent sale and purchase of our properties that our case manager had left the firm - by out of office email response. The Legal Director, Nigel, assisted by Kirsten, stepped in. In short, communication picked back up again to a very good standard. Unfortunately we had to defer our purchase/sale by six weeks, this in turn was due to delays caused from our purchasers, but with a competent case manager back at the helm we were able to conclude missives and get our purchase and sale over the line. Hopefully this is an accurate description of our experience with Mov8. Its a shame that our initial case manager didn't grasp the situation and I'm not sure what was going on behind the scenes. But for most of this process, they have been a good team to deal with and they have, got us over the line. So thank you to Maxine, Erin, Chloe, Nigel and Kirsten, our main points of contact, for your very good and reassuring level of communication and for getting a concurrent house sale and purchase complete.

I recently sold my buy to let property through mov8 and couldn't be more disappointed , angry and frustrated at the whole situation. Great at the beginning when dealing with the sale team but as soon as I was moved to the conveyancing department,the nightmare began. I had 2 sales falling through and I got charged £350 Extra eventually it got sold at the third attempt. The problem with this is that at no point I have got advised on what to do with the various issues but instead I had to chase my solicitor for info and advice but the response was always very vague. Eventually I spoke to one of my friend who he has properties and advised on what to do which fixed the problem and allowed me to proceed with the sale. Also, I have got moved to 3 different solicitors Which made the whole situation more confusing. One solicitor went on holiday while we were on concluding the missives and failed to let me know!!!!! All in all a very bad experience. On positive note I have some other properties which I will sell in the near future and I know who not to choose 2022. I have now purchased a new home with a small estate agent and I can safely say that experience was by far better. I strongly recommend everyone who wants to purchase their first home especially to ask lots of questions before embarking on a journey like this.not everyone is the same.
