TrustpilotAwful experience
Awful experience. They kept losing my details. Finally booked a property valuation, but then no-one bothered to turn up. Instead of apologing for wasting my time they described it as a "miscommunication", did not offer to come out that day or the day after, but in a week's time. If they don't want the chance to sell a beautiful cottage with a large garden and awesome views they clearly aren't going to make any effort to sell a property. Lucky escape - but a huge waste of my time.

TrustpilotGreat agency.
I cannot fault the team at Truro/Redruth Miller Cointrywide, they are efficient, clear and very supportive through all aspects of moving house. The young girl Abi is amazing at what she does, very understanding and caring. We couldn't have asked for a better service whilst finding our way. Great job everyone.

Trustpilotethical, communicative and person centred company
My experience with every estate agent from Miller countrywide in Falmouth has been fantastic, I originally viewed a flat with them which they held onto for me for weeks, stayed in contact during this process and then were kind enough to negotiate with the landlord with another flat, direct me to the correct location over the phone and reorganise a missed viewing the same day. Thank you Dayna, Cian and James for all of your time and effort.

TrustpilotNo customer service.
Placed my property for sale with MillerCountrywide Penzance back in April 2023 with an ‘Offers Over’ notice on the price, and a guarantee from the staff that any potentials will have been checked to ensure they had funds. First visitors said they did not have the budget, so do not know why they visited. Second made an offer below price, which I turned down as was told the price was based on offers over. Since then there has been 1 visit, over a week ago, I am still waiting after calling the agents 3 times for an update on how the visit went.

TrustpilotMiller Truro
The initial meeting discussing mortgage options went well, but after learning of our income and budget and what could be lent, all interest in helping us dwindled. There was no enthusiasm or help in getting us a mortgage. My partners pregnancy was used against us as a reason that we may not be able to get a mortgage due to maternity pay. We were told we could only borrow a small amount from lenders and it had to be now as closer to the due date we would most likely be declined. We had a large deposit and yet we were not taken seriously. We were sent only one property to look at which was not even suitable to our needs. Emails went unanswered and we just got the feeling that we weren’t valued as potential customers, so we went elsewhere and secured a mortgage with no issue. Terrible service, would not recommend.

TrustpilotSt Austell. Poor response times and lack of interest
Put our house on the market and initially were very happy with the service we received. Luke was very welcoming and professional and then he left the company. We weren’t informed if this and had no contact telling us who our new point of contact would be. After this it was a shambles. Emails and calls not returned. Got the impression that they weren’t really interested in our sale, quite a lazy approach. I don’t feel that we received a professional service compared to other estate agents we have used. We even considered pulling the sale and re advertising with a different estate agent. All sorted now but I personally wouldn’t deal with this company again in the future.

TrustpilotWould not recommend this company if…
Would not recommend this company if your life depended on it a long time ago when I was a single parent and a student they took six months rent off me upfront. What was intended on my part to be a long term Let, it was kind of my own naivety as when I viewed the house there was a for sale sign and the letting agent told me and my mum that for sale sign was for the next-door house as these were Terrace houses anyway I moved into this house and four months and I got a call to my personal number just some random people that was wanting to view the house for sale. That’s how I found out the house was for sale. Avoid I’m now in my council house and have been here a long time but avoid this agency. Gutted. I went from one cowboy independent landlord to this cowboy agency. Ps I should have wrote this review a long time ago with being single parent and disabilities as well as you know trying to function in my life makes it difficult but I have not forgot

TrustpilotUnreliable, untrustworthy and probably unlawful
We approached Miller Countrywide in Truro to view a property. As expected they asked for our buying position before arranging a viewing, but then shockingly expected us to send all our financial information to them by email before they would allow a viewing to take place. That is just to to view a property, not make an offer, and an expectation that we would send bank statements to them by unsecured email.I refused and noted I considered their information collection to excessive and therefore probably unlawful under GDPR. The person I was talking to stated that this was their Covid policy and that she would get her office manager to call me back on Monday.1 month later we have still not been contacted by them.So as a buyer if you wish to use a company that will demand excessive information from you and expect you to risk your information being used fraud just to view a property, use Miller Countrywide. As a seller, if you are happy to have your property excluded from viewing by a cash buyer due to your agent probably acting unlawfully, use Miller Countrywide. For me, I will never use a company that not only wishes me to place my banking details at risk for no valid reason, but in response to a promise to call me on Monday to justify their actions still has not contacted me a month later.

TrustpilotKetan at Falmouth
Ketan was amazing for me throughout my experience. Always helpful and a genuine person. Felt like he was always invested in me getting my house. As I’m a first time buyer I had very little knowledge on how this works but Ketan was knowledgeable and supportive.

TrustpilotUnbelievably high fees
Miller Countrywide Lettings have had a reputation for a number of years for obscenely high fees for tenants, and poor service for both landlords and renters. I can't comment on the landlord or sales experience but, as a prospective tenant, I'm appalled.
I recently viewed a property through my local Miller office, and the individual agents were pleasant to deal with and not too unprofessional (excepting a certain evasiveness about fees, which they claimed were "on the website"; they are definitely not listed anywhere on Miller's site!). Unfortunately, when I pressed for information on the fee schedule and was finally given details, I found that not only do Miller not have a set schedule of fees, instead telling me that they "varied by property", but that they were asking £872 for a two-person application. And no, that did not include deposit or first month's rent in advance. That's over eight hundred pounds just in fees.
To put this in perspective, this figure is more than three times what I've been quoted elsewhere for the same circumstances, similar properties, and same kind of application. There is no apparent reason Miller's fees are so high, but I did see their schedule included such specifics as a £72 fee for inventory - for the incoming tenant - and a £300 "admin fee" for drawing up the tenancy, independent of any form of credit referencing.
When I expressed surprise at the cost, they did offer to reduce the fees immediately by £200. Unfortunately, all this suggested to me was that Miller had a ridiculously high profit margin to start with. It's a shame, as they may well be a splendid lettings agent, and I could well have had a great tenancy through them. However, with fees this high, I won't find out if that's true any time soon.

Recently rented a property from the Truro Office for 18 months, never had a property inspection or visit, huge amount of maintenance issues but the out of hours contact system is dysfunctional and not fit for purpose. Telephones rarely answered and gets diverted to other branches often told they are on the phone when actually the person you may need to speak to is not working on the day.

TrustpilotSt Austell branch is a complete joke
St Austell branch is a complete joke. Currently I am looking to sue for unnecessary harassment and trying to heavy handedly change the terms of tenancy agreement without either tenant (mine) or landlords written (or even verbal for that matter) agreement.

TrustpilotUNPROFESSIONAL AND MISLEADING
My dad is 81 and has cancer and sold his house through Miller. The information regarding how the invoice was calculated was misleading as he believed it was a % of the price sold and not a fixed price as it is usually the case. Nothing was mentioned at the meeting to suggest a fixed price. Also found out that one of the employees had an interest in the solicitor suggested.
