Daisy is an absolute diamond. I went to see her for some mortgage advice & she was so helpful, informative and really friendly too. The mortgage advice she’s gave me was amazing & anything I didn’t understand she made sure to explain it to me until I understood. She has made what can be a really daunting experience, as a first time buyer, a lot smoother and a lot less stressful for me. Couldn’t recommend more!

WHB-Culver St West, Colchester Having bought and sold several houses over the years, unfortunately this was by far the worst experience I’ve had with an agent. Two sales fell through-not the agents fault but still had to part ways after the second fell through. Positives: -Jack Hicks in mortgages is amazing to deal with. Knows his stuff and very efficient, making the mortgage application a smooth one. -Lisa Dove is a real asset and reassuring presence. Ultra professional, credible, trustworthy and feels like she is working in your best interests. These two individuals are the reason for the two stars in this review. Negatives: -I thought that the days of the stereotypical disingenuous, pushy, frustrating, incompetent estate agents were a thing of the past, however, WHB at Culver St West, Colchester have Anthony Cordeiro. Never felt like he was working in my best interests-doing the bare minimum to get what I needed then having the nerve to act like he was doing me a massive favour. Worst of all, he repeatedly tried to pressure me into breaking my chain unnecessarily, purely to push the sale through faster, regardless of the impact on me. Every interaction felt like a battle, I dreaded getting a call from him in the end and couldn’t bear the thought of having to deal with his nonsense for another 4+ months. There are plenty of other estate agents in Colchester but if you do/are using WHB in Colchester I strongly suggest that you ask for Lisa to progress your sale, her professionalism makes a significant difference. **UPDATE** Following this review I was contacted by Chloe Mcgarry, sales complaints handler who advised they’d be investigating any issues I had. Letter dated the 6th August stated I’d be contacted in 15 days or advised if that is extended-haven’t heard anything since. Also says in there complaint has been shared with the branch manager and area director-heard nothing from them either by way of addressing my issues. I guess they’re not bothered about the morales or ethics of their staff as long as the PnL looks good.

We had such a positive experience with William H Brown. From start to finish, Jack and Hannah were incredibly helpful, responsive, and supportive throughout the whole process. They made everything smooth and stress-free, always taking the time to answer our questions and keep us updated. What really stood out was the personal touch. They even gave us a welcome box when I moved in, which was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture. It made us feel truly valued. We are 79 and it was our first move since 1969!.Justin came to visit and told that he came in to the business to change the perception of estate agents and he has certainly done that by building a great team.We felt as they were all working just for us.Jordan a lovely young man did all the viewings and Lisa Dove our go between soon became a friend keeping us informed and answering any questions and best of all stopped us worrying!.when we found our dream Bungalow Jason worked extremely hard to make sure that it become our new home we cannot thank them enough. I honestly can’t quite believe how dysfunctional this branch is. They’ve rented a flat to my son and his girlfriend without making sure that anything in the flat is ok. The gas boiler isn’t working (illegal) so there’s no hot water, there are wires sticking out of the consumer unit/fuse box, there are ants in the flat, and it’s filthy dirty. They take absolutely no responsibility for renting a flat (his first flat I might add) that can’t be lived in. Instead they say it’s the landlord’s responsibility…. Can the landlord be reached….? NO!!! Has a gas engineer been sent out…..NO!!!! They finally got the keys on Thursday and they’ve been unable to live there while William H Brown do nothing and the landlord is uncooperative. What a disgrace!!! If I could give it zero stars I would.

I recently reached out to William H Brown Colchester Culver Street as I wanted to put my property on the rental market. Emma arranged to meet me at my property very quickly indeed. Emma was friendly, warm, and you could tell she was very well informed on the local market. The house went on the market, and just 2 or 3 days later I had an offer for a rental for 12 months! Incredible speed. Hannah was the agent that showed round my current tenants and she was also excellent - friendly, informed and worked with speed. Over all, I could not speak more fondly of the experience I had, and I would not hesitate to use them again.
