Saxons were fantastic from start to finish. Matt in particular was brilliant, the whole process was simple, smooth and incredibly quick, which I really appreciated as I needed to move in fast. The team were so accommodating and went above and beyond when I had issues with the electric meter, even calling British Gas and the previous tenant to sort things out for me. I’ve reported a few minor maintenance issues and Matt dealt with them immediately, I’ve already had a contractor round! Really impressed with the service and support. I’d definitely recommend Matt and the team at Saxons.

Saxons fully managed our rental flat for over 15 years, and in that time they never let us down. They were incredibly supportive during what became a nightmare situation involving subsidence. After a long and stressful battle with insurers, the property was eventually demolished and rebuilt, and throughout the entire process Saxons were outstanding! Proactive, friendly and supportive. Once the flat was rebuilt, we didn’t hesitate to use Saxons again for the sale, and once more they were excellent from start to finish. Recently purchased a property in Colchester, I would thoroughly recommend Saxons and the person I dealt with, Chris. I had become slightly property weary as over the last year I have had 4 properties fall through and some of these failed because, to put it mildly, the agents were economic with the truth and just wanted to sell at any cost. I tend to be able to see through these chancers. This wasn’t the case here. From the get go Chris was very open and helpful and arranged for specialists to visit the property because of things flagged up in the survey, through to dealing with slack solicitors. Very happy with the service provided.

As a past student-tennant I would avoid. Our deposit was witheld, even though I received a personal thank you from the (lovely) landlord for keeping the place tight for two years straight. Left it in an excellent state after personally cleaning it for 3 days straight and handing it over, only to still get charged for the professional cleaning company they hired, without prior consultation or photo evidence. Heck, we had photos of our own. Only after two weeks we manged to get a discount and left with that as it was not worth tha hassle, this should give you an idea. They do not need to retain you as a customer as they chew through quite a few students and it shows. Another one, when the boiler gave out in winter time, I had to wait for a whole week to get it fixed - it was well bellow 12 deg C throughout the period. In general, slimy selling practice, little care for the tennants, hard to reach after the money has been handed over and contracts signed.

I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to warn others. After vacating the property, I was shocked to find that my entire £2000 security deposit was withheld. The reason given was a supposed cleaning issue, despite the fact that the property was left in excellent condition. They claimed to have hired a cleaner without consulting me and used that to justify keeping the full amount. No receipts, no before-and-after photos, no fair process, just a blatant lack of professionalism and respect. This feels like a scam, and I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with them.
