TrustpilotDreadful letting agent for Landlords - expensive and money grabbing
Dreadful letting agent for Landlords. Not to be trusted. They charge for everything, despite taking a management fee (over a £100 each month) - it is hard to see where that money goes, it certainly doesn't go towards managing the tennant or property.
From my experience they are not trustworthy. They charged for repairs not carried out, and continued charging again for works not retified. Use your own contractors. Do not use their in-house service / 3rd party as they are all part of the same business and not reliable.
For the management fee I think they also fail the tennants, they do not give the tennant the best fair service. My experience of Pinewoods is they will do the very minimum and no more - unless you pay extra and that is 100s everytime for even minor tasks. They charge tennants and do not deliver a fair service. The office staff (except jacob) can be rude and indifferent, and the owners don't seem to care about customer service.
My experience of them is they are dishonest and not trustworthy or even bothered. Complaints are raised but no one responds and nothing changes.

I honestly cannot thank the team enough for all their help and support throughout what was a very difficult and emotional time for me.
From the very beginning, everyone I dealt with was incredibly professional, understanding and supportive. Christina in the office was absolutely fantastic and was always so helpful when handling all the arrangements and affairs. She made everything feel so much easier and was always there to answer questions and keep things moving.
I would also like to give a special mention to Jeanette, who was wonderful throughout the viewings and was incredibly helpful when it came to collecting the keys. She was friendly, approachable and made the whole experience feel much less stressful.

Our experience with Pinewood Estate Agents has been overwhelmingly disappointing from beginning to end. Throughout the entire process, communication felt consistently poor, which created unnecessary stress and conflict. We waited weeks for our “For Sale” board to be put up, and there were several occasions where we weren’t informed about viewings in advance, leaving us feeling completely out of the loop.
What should have been a straightforward process ended up taking nearly ten months to complete, which was incredibly frustrating. On top of that, we felt pressured to use the solicitors they recommended, and that only added to the overall dissatisfaction, communication there was just as difficult and unhelpful.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend Pinewood Estate Agents. The lack of organisation, communication, and transparency made the entire journey far more stressful than it needed to be.

We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the service provided by Pinewood. This is not our intention, and we are proud of our strong track record for delivering high standards of customer service.
It took us a short time to locate the transaction you are referring to, as you are not the legal owner of the property and therefore were not recorded as the primary client on our system. Once identified, we have carefully reviewed each of the concerns raised.
With regard to your comment that you felt pressured to use our recommended solicitors, this is not accurate. Alex elected to proceed with our Essential Plus package, which includes solicitors, rather than our Essential package, which does not. This decision is entirely optional and made by the client; therefore, it would not have been possible for Alex to have been pressured into this choice.
In relation to viewings, we are unclear about your concern. For every viewing booked, our system automatically issues both email and SMS notifications to the property owner in advance. Additionally, it is worth noting that the property was launched to the market on 2 May and an acceptable offer was secured on 28 May, just 26 days from listing to offer, which reflects a timely and effective marketing process.
You have also raised concerns about the length of time taken to complete the transaction. The initial delay arose because the buyer’s lender was unwilling to lend due to the road serving the property remaining unadopted. This matter was outside the control of Pinewood, the seller, and the buyer, and required extensive efforts by the buyer and their mortgage broker to resolve.
A further delay occurred when a tenant was moved into the property by the vendor without formal agreement. This fundamentally changed the basis of the sale, as the buyer had agreed to purchase the property vacant and in the condition in which it was viewed. While the buyer attempted to find a workable solution, this presented significant legal challenges. Ultimately, the tenant vacated the property, but left it in a condition that differed materially from that originally agreed, including being left with possessions and not in a clean state.

Having reviewed the history of the transaction, I would like to clarify a few points. During the marketing period, we successfully introduced multiple buyers for the property. We also recommended our reservation agreement on several occasions, which is designed to provide greater commitment from a purchaser and help reduce the risk of a sale falling through. Unfortunately, this option was not taken up.
As with all property transactions, there are aspects of the process that remain outside the control of an estate agent, including a buyer's decision to proceed, the progress of a chain and the timing of related property purchases. Whilst we appreciate the additional costs and frustration you experienced, these were not matters that Pinewood was able to influence or control.
Throughout the transaction, our team worked hard to secure buyers, progress the sale and assist wherever possible. Whilst we are disappointed that you feel we fell short of your expectations, we respect your opinion and are sorry that the experience was not a positive one for you.
