Vendor: ‘Selling, or buying, a house is very rarely stress-free but the role of the Estate Agent is of course crucial.Having now sold my property, accompanied by many ups and downs associated with uncertainties in the housing market, I can highly recommend David Burr’s Estate Agency in Clare, Suffolk particularly as my property was fairly unusual, interesting, and some would describe as ‘quirky’. As a very professional, friendly and competent team, well aware of the vagaries of the property-seeking population, I found the approach to marketing my property enthusiastic, realistic and successful. Communication by phone, email and in person was reliable and supportive. I was very impressed by the expertise, marketing and negotiating skills of Gareth Gold, the Director of the Clare Agency, and Sales Secretary Tracey Chapman always helpful and reassuring at times of mini crises! If you are interested in property in Clare, or the surrounding area, David Burr’s Estate Agency is the place to go!

From day 1 of popping into the office to say we wanted to sell our property quickly, Matt and the team were on it! Casper came with the camera and Matt with the measure! Once we reviewed and accepted the property details and contract we had a flurry of viewers which resulted in accepting an offer within 2 weeks, which we were delighted with! Throughout the sale Tracey kept us up to date with progress through to exchange of contracts. Whenever I called the office I always felt my call was valuable and everyone I spoke to were extremely friendly and helpful. Would I recommend David Burr, Clare? Most definitely!

The fact that the 3 of us all lived over 2 hours from our late Father’s property wasn’t an issue at all. Unfortunately our first sale fell through but the property sold again within 10 days & for the full & original asking price! We were kept well informed throughout the whole process from viewings & feedback on viewings through to the final weeks of contracts exchanging & completion. We were the top of a relatively long chain & Tracey was proactive in tracking progress back down the chain on our behalf & communicating up & down the chain to ensure a timely completion. Tracey went above & beyond our expectations & arranged the removal of some larger furniture items on our behalf through a local second hand furniture shop. She even nipped in to the property to check it & put the heating thermostat up during cold weather. I cannot recommend the team at David Burr in Clare highly enough & Tracey is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Little did I expect when I went to view an old house in Clare that the day would resemble Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Fortunately, Indianna Jones, in the form of Gareth Gold was there to aid and assist. The house itself was easy to access, but the huge garden had become extremely overgrown and inaccessible from the house entrance. As the garden was of particular interest Gareth suggested that a previous viewer had managed to view the garden from the back wall, on the side the park. There is a fence, said Gareth, but the other chap had no trouble hurdling it. I threw caution to the wind and followed to the park. Gareth easily got over the fence, I however, more of the Dawn French persuasion, plump and enthusiastic, does not equate to agile. Gareth cajoled, supported and laughed me over the fence where I did obtain a good view of the garden. However, the return fence seemed to have increased in height and I managed to balance myself rather precariously between the fence and the top of the bench, unfazed by the large giggling woman, not sure how to dismount, Gareth once again came to the rescue and allowed me to leap at him, just about retaining his footing! He was a great sport and a great help. Unfortunately the house and garden, were indeed a fence too far but Gareth was totally gracious and has continued to search low fenced properties for me with good humour and attention to detail. Thank you Gareth, move over Harrison Ford!
