TrustpilotTerrible if you are a buyer
Strakers are an estate agent and have a job to do. Ultimately they are working for their client. However as a buyer the experience is terrible. Strakers advertise property with the line of "guide price" or "offers in excess of" which turns out is just to get people through the door ( that's what the seller told me) but the actual price will be much higher. This according to other sources is quite poor practice so be warned. During the buying process you are allocated someone to help through the purchase. We found these people rude and underhanded. Despite advising them of the status of our own sale, they clearly didn't believe us and started phoning our estate agent & solicitor trying to get information to corroborate what we had told them. This was whilst our sale going smoothly whilst they still hadn't gotten answers to a number of questions which was the only thing delaying the sale. When we eventually got the keys it turned out there was a number of things the seller had told them to advise us but they failed to pass on the message. Fortunately it is unlikely I will move for a long time, but this is a warning to use them at your own risk.

We can't recommend the North Swindon office enough. Paul, Jane, Nick and Sharon were a real help and very supportive through our long sale. Sharon from the Progression team gave us regular updates and kept on top of our solicitors and our sellers to get our sale through. I would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone who is buying or selling.

Having bought our property from Devizes Strakers two years ago, I called them out of the blue this morning and asked for a lettings valuation. Within an hour Karen had a valuation to me, with a comparison property for us to pass on to our mortgage company.

What a wonderful group of people. Karen, Mark, Dee, Charlie and all the others at Strakers were so generous with their time and commitment to offer my Year 10 daughter a week of work experience across their branches and various facets to give her a really enriching and enjoyable few days. She was welcomed in and everyone she had the pleasure of working with was warm, friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. If this approach manifests itself in how they do business on a day to level then I would thoroughly recommend using them.

An excellent service provided by Strakers Lettings. Karen Elson and her team are fantastic. They gave us great support and advice, they were so efficient and reliable, always a pleasure to communicate with, and found us the perfect tenant within 3 days. All of this for a very minimal fee. I highly recommend this agency.

I can't fault the service offered by Strakers. There was an excellent initial response to marketing and we had an offer well over asking within 3 weeks. Unfortunately, the buyer pulled out just as Brexit killed the market, followed by Covid. But a good result again on re-marketing in June.
