TrustpilotOverall good holiday , they need to improve though
Overall, we had a good holiday. There was a few minor issues along the way. Cleanliness was very good staff Customer Service was not too bad. The facilities were okay. We stopped at the Portreath site Gwel and mor , the massive negative was we had a problem with the plumbing and when we called the emergency line, nobody actually came out to us as you can imagine this was an absolute nightmare trying to get to sleep then we had two very tired children the following day! Considering we were only there for one week could’ve done without this hassle! Just didn’t feel very five star , The communication about the Wi-Fi was ambiguous, but everything else was as expected. Would definitely go back again as the site was lovely. The on-site restaurants were nice as well. I would’ve definitely gave them five stars if we didn’t have the plumbing issues as I should not have had to deal with that.

Hello,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us, we really appreciate it! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday overall, especially the beautiful site and our on-site restaurants. It’s always lovely to know that guests would choose to return!
That said, we’re truly sorry to hear about the plumbing issue and the lack of response when you needed help most. We completely understand how stressful that must have been, especially with little ones trying to get a good night’s sleep. That’s certainly not the experience we aim to provide, and we’re genuinely sorry it impacted your stay.
We also appreciate your feedback about the Wi-Fi communication and customer service, it’s incredibly helpful and has been shared with our team so we can make improvements moving forward.
It means a lot to us that you’d definitely come back. We’d absolutely love the chance to welcome you again and give you the seamless, relaxing stay you truly deserve!
Warmest regards,
Laura @ Cove UK

TrustpilotEntertainment passes not worth it
We stayed at Seal Bay in Selsey for 3 nights under an Airbnb host so had to purchase separate entertainment passes. It cost us £143 for 4 adults and 4 children for a length of 2 nights. At first I thought it was reasonably priced but after actually experiencing what was included in the passes, I think it’s too much IMO. The whole resort was MASSIVE so understandably, there were a lot of people trying to make use of their passes. The Embassy was too small to provide entertainment for everyone who wanted to enjoy it. You can only get into the pool for an hour each and it the pool facilities were poorly maintained and too crowded, the management need to rethink how to better control the flow of people for the hourly swim passes as some people just stay for longer. We had fun but won’t come back.

TrustpilotThere was a number of ood parts to the…
There was a number of good parts to the family holiday but there was also negative issues as well. I asked for our caravans to be near each other and they obliged. Second caravan had a blockage in en suite toilet and this was dealt with within an hour of being reported but engineer commented that cleaners should have seen this when cleaning. Swimming pool was good, arcade geared up for children and cost money. Crazy golf was expensive for 1 round and small area and maintenance poor.No supervision on the bounce bit out the back and older children having more use of it than the younger children, this was not supervised properly.. We had a chippy meal on the 2nd night and it was absolutely terrible. Spent £60 on this meal and more than half thrown away. The place was shut the rest of the week. Papa John was excellent and offers delivery service . We ate in twice at the restaurant and on the whole ok but 1 of our party wasn't well after eating hunters chicken. You are not able to book tables for meals. We never attended the entertainment for the adults so could not make a comment. Drinks were very expensive and no family could afford to go there every night. Caravan itself was clean and lacked some basics ie 1 shelf in the oven. There was a mop bucket but no mop. Good area for my grandchildren to run about. The chippy did annoy us at the standard they served up and being closed the rest of the time we were there so unable to make a complaint to them.

TrustpilotTotal Let Down
Been staying at Drimsynie for over 30 years. Visit the restaurant when staying. Staying at a holiday home outwith the holiday park this weekend re availability & decided to go the the Drimsynie Restaurant for a meal. I ordered fish & chips. When I cut the fish there was hardly any fish & loads of batter. It is £16 for this meal so I explained to the waitress that the fish wasn't suffice as just mainly batter. She said she would get another fish for me & took my plate away after "examining" my plate & saying that she could see a "bit of fish" in the batter. My meal wasn't even started on except for cutting the batter. She came back & said the fish was all the same & did I want a replacement fish meal. I said yes to which she replied "well you will be charged twice unless you take your old meal back". I said "no I won't, you take my food away when it's literally untouched & suggest replacing the meal then say you'll charge me twice"! Just an absolute cheek. She was very rude, and inexperienced. I've never come across anything like it. People were staring due to the inappropriate conversation. Also she spoke to the manager forgetting that I was looking over at her & could hear her speaking inappropriately about my complaint. Just a total disgrace. I have had several complaints to Drimsynie now, firstly due to Cove cutting my holiday short & then cancelling another one of my holiday's (granddaughters 18th) without my knowledge a "week" before arrival because they made a decision to close the park. I found this one out via Lochgoilhead Community Page on Facebook by chance! You just couldn't write it. I have completely lost faith in a place that I have loved for many years. I will be cancelling my upcoming holiday as I just don't want to come back now. They just do not care at all about loyal customers this company. It's very sad and making things right doesn't seem to be happening which just emphasises the fact that nothing positive is being done to rectify complaints.

TrustpilotThis was our 4th and final visit
This was our 4th and final visit. We have only been going a year and what a dive it is now. We paid for a Gold caravan which was nothing like the last Gold we had which was really nice. This had no veranda and the width was a lot smaller. Main bedroom was tiny and my son who is 13 could not even fit in the single bed provided. On the first night both my son and i suffered asthma attacks, my wife later discovered this was probably due to the thick dust and mountain of dog hair she uncovered on the carpet. We recieved 2 notes from Security telling us not to park on the grass, the first time absolutely fine. Second note we was in our allocated bay which goes onto the grass and yet another note, its not our fault the road is so narrow and cars get damaged. Now Security is something i take pride in being an industry i have worked in. The first time we came we were very impressed by Security standards and how friendly they were. This 4th time well the complete opposite. The first night we arrived at the embassy we was in the balcony area and there was a family up there smoking weed around a new born baby, Security noticed and said nothing. So the next night i brought into the venue my own alcohol and left on table on purpose to see if they would say anything, they did there jobs correctly and i stressed how unprofessional night 1 was and that if i was from.the SIA they could all lose there jobs, all i want is high standards. Around the site you can smell weed everywhere you go and a ridiculous amount of fights. This is supposed to be a family complex? The app is poor because there is very little phone signal and they want you to pay to use wifi which does not work anyway. The customer service from.some of the staff is terrible and are clearly just there for the pay check. The swimming pool changing rooms were filthy even in quiter periods. We reported that our external light was not working and nothing was done. These caravans are not right for someone of a certain height and i could not fit in the tiny shower and when my wife showered she kept losing hot water. The tiny oven took about 3 hours to cook a pizza. The 1 star on this review is for the amazing entertainment on site my younger kids love the fun factory and bonkers bingo and Dani the entertainer is a star and she deserves better than Seal Bay. It is a shame because it is a beautiful beach and the first time we came we was so impressed. With having children with autism we thought a routine holiday would be great but we expect so much better and the site is not autism friendly.

TrustpilotWe would happily return..
Our family of 5 was booked for 7 nights in a gold select caravan. We arrived a little earlier than expected (10 mins) but the caravan was still being cleaned so we parked up nearby and explored the area. We were in Hollyhocks so this is a relatively new and fresh area with no through traffic so was very pleased. The caravan was available 10 mins after our selected time so a little annoying but not a biggy. The van was clean, spacious and accommodating with a decent size decking area with table and chairs. Our only niggle was the digital door lock that was temperamental and was sometimes unsure if it was actually locked at night! This is particularly concerning as the sight is open to the public. We found the entertainment areas clean and well laid out. The outdoor seating at the waterfront bar with a big screen was a particularly nice spot with the beach a stone throw away. The tables were clean and empty glasses taken away regularly..The take away venues are a little pricey but good quality and deliver in a good time. We didn't use the restaurants (No reason). We pre-booked activities before arriving, these included football training, axe throwing, archery and crazy golf. The activity crews were a great bunch and do a great job, our son Henry got on well with Ewan and Tom who do their job really well!We also booked snorkelling which we had to cancel. This wasn't easy as you cannot do this on the app. There was no reply from an email and it took 2 days to answer the phone..An almost full refund was given. We used the indoor swimming pool which has a fast river section and slide which was clean and not too busy. One of the earlier evenings in our week we went to the club for the entertainment. However the kids entertainment was still going on later than we would of expected so there was lack of seating and generally messy tables. Our kids are 9 upwards so they were not interested in what was going on therefore we only had one drink and didn't return. We feel the kids stuff should finish earlier but maybe that's just our opinion. The onsite shops were fairly well stocked with most of the essentials covered. We used the laundrette too which needs an app downloading to use. No cash or card option which would make it easier.Overall we enjoyed our weeks stay and would say you can make a nice holiday here and always find something to do, just bring the sunshine with you...

TrustpilotWe have only been here for a weekend…
We have only been here for a weekend break but tbh that is enough for us . I don’t believe they should push this app onto everyone because as soon as we arrived we couldnt get any signal hence I couldn’t get my app to load . When we did get to the caravan we couldn’t get the door to open using the app once again ,20 minutes of trying to no avail we had to flag down a maintenance man who was luckily driving past at that time ,he let us in and informed us they had been having some technical issues with the app that day 🙄 Caravan is very nice although could do with a bit more detail to cleaning rather than just where the eye can first see, pretty thick with dust in places .Mattresses absolutely shocking ,springs gone ,very uncomfortable.Staff in the shop in the entertainment area absolutely shocking ,all young kids obviously it’s there summer job but they need to be taught customer service ,asked about prices of products none of which had any prices whatsoever ,I was given the option of ‘could be this price.. or could be that price ..’ one of those two,I mean yea that’s really helpful thankyou 🙄 Generally this place is crazy busy ,far to many people, swimming pool far to busy they allow to many in at any one time . My daughters friend who was holidaying with us actually cut her fingers on one of the slides as they had rough areas on them . All in all we was only for a weekend which for me was enough , we have never been before and tbh I wouldn’t bother returning,it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great at the same time ,lots of improvement needed .

TrustpilotFilthy place
We stay in a privately owned caravan so it's clean spotless and great location...However we returned after a fab time at Christmas to see what the summer was like and I don't think we will be back ..Everywhere was packed.. filthy.. staff had no customer service skills. The waterfront was discusting, tables were sticky no one around to clear tables cigarette ends everywhere. I don't think I saw someone wipe a table in the 4 day stay we had.I went to sit on a sofa outside the soft play (again which was filthy) and it was soaked with sticky beer and glass. The entrance to the arcade/swimming pool was full of cigarette ends over flowing bins and was just vile..I didn't want to walk through it with my two young children.Dirty swimming pool changing rooms the list goes on.I know it's summer in the height of the season but you still expect daily cleaning routines to be top of their list.

TrustpilotSea view Lodge, Sea Bay, Selsey
Booked the sea view Lodge which is directly on the Beach. Amazing views over the ocean and you can see the Isle of Wight. The lodge is located away from the swimming pool, Arcades and bars so very quiet but only a couple of mins walk if you fancy them. The lodge itself was very clean and presented beautifully, decor is spot on. Everything we needed was here, including an Iron, and a bottle opener, phew. There was also a welcome gift basket and bottle of Prosecco, which didn't last long I'm happy to report. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a sofa bed to accommodate 2 more, there is also the HUGE BONUS of a utility room where you can wash all your clothes, we made the most of that, very handy. My son who is 8 had a great time, he was happy with exploring the finds on the beach everyday and night walks, however he really enjoyed the Arcades to. We will absolutely go again, my son and I did not want to leave. We booked directly with C S Holiday lets.

Awful place to stay would never go back! Security were a bunch of angry yobs (all bar one who was a lovely man) my plug was sparking in my caravan which even the electrician said was very dangerous and could of caused serious harm to my children. The single beds were like prison beds as my son called them, just an utter joke from start to finish. After spending over £500 for a caravan and hundreds on activities I am very disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone

Came down to spend Christmas in a friend’s caravan. The Grinch has been at work and cancelled Christmas here methinks. One complex closed, the other was like a ghost town this week, with terrible entertainment. 90% facilities closed….last came 2years ago and it was magical. Doesn’t bode well for 2024. TrustpilotAWFUL!
AWFUL!! website is SO misleading. We went Monday to Friday, despite blazing sun and beautiful days the outside pool wasn't open once, they don't provide that information on the same page as all other activy opening times. Second the small splash zone outside smokeys was closed, the tots pool was closed every day, despite the website and opening times leaflet given saying otherwise, I even asked the lifeguard to open it as reception said all I had to do was ask and they said they had been told by the manager they couldn't because they are short staffed. The manager then confirmed this. Smugglers restaurant was closed every day despite opening times saying otherwise. The eave ride was closed everyday except one day when it was open for staff only. The fun fair was closed every day except one day, I have a video of the ride attendant pushing the tollarcoaster with a large stick so it would make it around the track, with no where to disembark if it does not make it round. One ride was open at a time since there was staff to man all the rides. Half the arcade machines just took your money with no staff to help. Majority of the grabber machines are £1 for ONE TRY. Soft plays are charged for but not manned or supervised. all except the box fish was open, no Greek, no treats, nothing just the box fish with ridiculous prices. Staff are all miserable except the performers who in fairness were excellent. Alcohol is watered down so much. A jack and Coke tasted like syrup and Pepsi, so sweet it was undrinkable. Security was disgusting. Young guy with a top knot described seeing a young girl he described as 'couldn't of even been 16' who was 'unreal' with a skirt so short he 'could see what she had for breakfast'. Sexually discussing a minor with another member of staff. Head of security seemed to automatically defend this person by questioning if we knew the girl was 16 or not. As repeated, by the guards own admission, he was talking about a girl younger than 16. Reception staff are rude and sarcastic. Within an hour of getting back I booked a trip away at haven. I've never been more furious and disappointed. My entire holiday experience was ruined. I would never go again. Please look at the visitors chat on Facebook before booking here. This place is just designed to take your money and spend as little as possible on staff and activities. It's offered but never available. Please look elsewhere.

TrustpilotVery disappointed
Very disappointed. We decided to book a 4 day Christmas break because my wife had just lost both her parents, so opted to go away to make Christmas easier for her. Big mistake, advertising a Christmas Market,I don't think one man selling German sausage counts as a market. The ice rink states lights and smoke, never happened. The main resort club house was dirty and ran by teenagers. The food on offer was burgers or ribs or anything with chips, so we couldn't wait fir the Christmas Dinner( omg) roast potatoes were frozen then reheated, chef told people waiting we couldn't have what we wanted in case they ran out). There was nothing on offer for my children in way of entertainment except over priced arcades. Such a shame because we really looked forward to this only to be VERY DISAPPOINTED. I suggest paying that bit more and go butlins or centre parks. Not sure why I've bothered to write review because reading others, nothing seems to get done.

Argyll Holiays /American Company Cove Communities. Its exciting buying your first static caravan a great experiance.Remember to read every little detail of Terms and Conditions.Over the year you have site fees to pay between £3500 - £5500 and many other things to pay.If you upgrade to a better static all is good.If you need to sell your static the park gets first option. We were initially offered £6000 - £7000.The salesman said he would meet us at our static to take photos. As soon as he arrived he said we dont buy back statics unless double glazed ours was single glazed. The only option now to you is go sell it to a trader and you will get offered a rock bottom price you will be ripped off.Our static was a 2011 model in excellent condition which cost us £18000.The trader gave us £3000 them the park wanted a disconnection fee of over £700 and after paying the park and settling up we were left with £2200.We were devastated we had owned the static for 3 years so its price depreciated £6000 a year.Never again the static caravan in holiday parks Industry is corrupt and rotten to the core. There main objective is to make as much money out of you as possible something I know they will deny.

TrustpilotA very relaxing week! Warm and welcoming.
Just spent a very relaxing week at Argyle holidays Drimsynie in a Pharmagen hot tub lodge. Our visit was a break away to celebrate two birthdays and an anniversary. Because of the dog friendly approach, our two wee yorkies were able to enjoy the scenery and walks along the beach also, which was great!I was very impressed with the full experience and will definitely be returning. Special thanks to Graeme and the reception team who went above and beyond to make the stay special. Everything was ready for check in and the reception team were so friendly and welcoming. We received the keys, a map and some information and a little welcome bag for the dogs(a really nice touch). We drove up to the lodge which had plenty parking space and really great views down the loch. The Lodge was very warm, clean and tidy with all you could need. A TV in each bedroom and smart TV in the livingroom. WiFi if needed although we got 4G (with faster speeds than Glasgow). Each room had a little toiletry set and the kitchen had a small box with tea, coffee, washing up liquid and tea towels. The showers were a good size and great pressure. The kitchen had all you could need. Plates, glasses, utensils, pots and even a dishwasher. Stepping out on to the decking and the view from the hot tub was spectacular. We had dinner in the restaurant a couple of the nights and the food, service and quality was good. Looking forward to returning soon.

TrustpilotAbsolutely let down
Absolutely let down. Not only did we HAVE TO book every activity online b 4 we arrived, we soon found out everything was fully booked till September. So kids were bored. I gave 2p's for slots but after a week of getting 450 on points they got 3 small sweats for that. I gave them at least £40 worth of 2p's. The pool was a disgrace. We got there at 9 only to b told the slides would not open till 10. We waited in the queue till 10 then to be told the first 15 people infront was the only ones aloud in. We had to waited another 25 minutes b 4 we were aloud in. The pool was 25% occupied. Then to top it off they said my 6 year old was just a tad too small for the lazy River which if we got told b 4 queuing there were height restrictions we would have left. There was a 4 hour wait behind us. The outdoor pool was supposed to b heated but was cold. Yet again, we queued. One in one out system. No life guards as they were attending the entry system. The bar for the cookies and coffee only had 1 staff member doing the outside kiosk and inside. Queued for 30 minutes for 2 cookies. The bar inside only had 1 or 2 staff taking food and drink orders. Big place but nothing for the kids to do. We payed £40 for WiFi as they said excellent WiFi all round the area, but NO, not where tents and caravans are!!!! Camp site was a squeeze. Ontop of each other with our caravans. Too many slots for kids, not enough staff and badly organised and run. S**t show. We cam home 4 days early. Only best part was Pappa Jones pizza. That's it!!! The fairground closed at 5. Everyone likes a fun fair at night, but the staff in there were not much older than 17. Most of the staff in the whole complex were under 23 I recon. No cove characters at all to b seen. Absolute waste of money and time.

Dear Helga,Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you've been left feeling disappointed after your recent break at Seal Bay Resort and appreciate you bringing these points to our attention. As you have mentioned, our guests do have to book activities prior to arrival at the resort. Guests that book through Seal Bay are informed that activities need to be booked 28 days in advance, and guests that book through private letters need to ensure that activities are booked 7 days in advance to arriving. The summer holidays are the busiest time for our resorts and this of course means that queues for our facilities are longer than normal. We operate 4 x 60 colour wrist bands and stagger them so the longest anyone will wait is 45 to 1 hour, never has anyone been in our queue for 4 hours. Opening times for The Oasis are stated on the door and the website regards that the leisure pool opens at 10. We adhere to our NOP document and policies with slide and lazy river rules regards 1.3 meteres in height, if someone is under that height, it would be a health and safety breech to let them in and there are signs advertising this in the changing rooms and poolside. Our outdoor pool is heated to 28c but, depending on the weather, it can fluctuate up and down, and our policy for max bather load is 248 in total for our indoor swimming pools. With regards to the West Sands fairground, the establishment is operated by a third party so we are unable to comment, however, we will send your feedback to them.Once again, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience, and we hope that one day we can welcome you back to one of our resorts.

Trustpilot2 stars because the grounds and…
Disappointed!!! 2 stars because the grounds and caravans are genuinely very well looked after. But as for the staff or should I say lack there off. I wanted some general information about travel to the asda so we could get some supplies for the 4 days we were there. I was greeted at the reception window by an incredibly rude young girl saying there are no buses and she doesn't know where we can get one. She actually knew nothing about anything to do with the park even asked why don't we just walk! (Asda is a couple miles away I was with my baby and disabled mother. This is what we were greeted with! I was incredibly shocked by this. None of the food places are open in the day time. You will struggle to find decent food for your family unless you shop! There is also a lack of entertainment for infants in the day time. Then it kicks of at 6pm when your baby is ready to go to bed. That is unless you want to take them to the evening entertainment which is mostly drunk parents! With security everywhere. More like a rough estate social club. Not for my kids! The beach is lovely. The outdoor pool is a great spot along with the sandpit. Shame the rest sucked.

TrustpilotLove Seal Bay!
We purchased a lodge in April. Sales service from Luenna was great. We have been enjoying it so much so far. There is tons to do - we have found the staff to be really helpful. Beautiful empty beach! Coming from London we find the food prices ok. Service in restaurants has been great - even at very bust times. We can’t wait for our trips!

Luenna and our team are dedicated to providing excellent service, and it's heartwarming to know that you found them helpful. TrustpilotFacilities not as advertised
On arriving at Solway Holiday park it was clear the park was in the midst of some refurbishment. I didn’t think much of as it’s such a large park. However there is no mention of this on the Cove website or any other booking websites. Further to this the website and the site maps that were handed to us on day one describe an outdoor play area and an indoor soft play. This was the main reason for picking Solway for our 2 & 3 year olds. Much to the kids dismay and our frustration the outdoor play area had recently been demolished and not replaced - a few paper signs saying ‘Keep Out’

Went to the entertainment bar as the ladies wanted to play bingo went to the bar and paid £49 for drinks went back to the table and the rest of the family went to get bingo tickets. I turn around and see two little kids one about 5 the other about 7 taking two glasses of coke from the table so I shouted at them i shouldn’t have soon after the security guard takes me out and starts having a go at me wasn’t interested that they were taking drinks from my table. The two kids were given a tray from bar staff so they could collect glasses the barman should be sacked for letting them do it. Left the camp next morning a day early and won’t be back again I’m 78 years old your security guard should be given lessons in how to treat customers thanks

TrustpilotNot the most empathetic to deal with
Not the most empathetic to deal with. Understand fully that our holiday was non refundable and that it is on me to have checked when booking but they wouldn't even let us move it so we had to cancel as my husband was recently diagnosed with cancer and is having chemo. They just seem glad to be able to farm it out elsewhere and, potentially, get additional premium for the one van.

Hello Jacqueline,
I'm truly sorry to hear about your husband's recent cancer diagnosis. This must be an incredibly difficult time for you both.
Our policy states that the non-refundable rate cannot be refunded or transferred to another date.
Best regards,
