Great experience with Oliver

I have had a great experience over the past few years with the professionalism the Savills team has provided, especially during Covid. My current property manager Oliver Hudson has been nothing but pro-active, professional, and helpful in dealing with issues related to my property.

I am writing in regards to a viewing appointment

I am writing in regards to a viewing my partner and I had arranged last night (28/10/2020 - 16:45)We arrived at the property at 16:50, exited our vehicle and looked around the property. We found no agent available. At 16:55 i called the mobile of the agent we were meeting, there was no answer, I then rang the Savills office and was put on hold while the agent contacted the on site agent. The lady at the office was unable to contact the onsite agent and advised us she would ring us back. Once this agent was contacted (17:00) we were advised that the onsite agent had stayed until 16:55, if this was the case I'm shockedthat we did not see them while we were at the property. We were also told that the agent was too far away to come back to ourselves, the agent must be quite the driver to manage this with in 5 Mins. The agent at the office advised us that all viewing appointments are asked to be on time, I do understand this but perhaps some leniency could be practised, as the appointment we were offered was in working hours, with 3 persons having to leave work early and travel to the property. The agent at the property clearly luckier than ourselves in their journey home at avoiding traffic. We received no call from the office or onsite agent to ask our whereabouts either. In all our first experience with Savills seems to be rather poor, dishonest and quite patronising.

Charles Fraser-Sampson

I don't normally post reviews but feel I should write about the exemplary service we received recently as buyers from Charles Fraser-Sampson at the Henley office. He was professional, charming and always helpful whilst under intense pressure from a very difficult vendor. He managed to get the deal over the line - we will always be grateful for service that went far beyond the expected or even reasonable, working over weekends, his own annual leave and at all hours.

Savills have been our letting agents…

Savills have been our letting agents for the house that we rented for 12 years and now we have moved house this has been the worst experience we have ever had! We have had to fight to receive our bond money back from them and agreed payments for improvements that we have made to the house. They employ young people with posh accents and no idea what they are doing, they ignore phone calls and emails and there only concern us not upseting the guy in the village in case they loose out on a free shoot day!!!! They sell themselves as a high class estate agents but they are really just poorly run by an old boy network so steer clear of the rural lettings if you want a quiet life. Would not recommend at all!!!!!!

Professional team offering a personal service throughout the purchase process.

The professionalism of the entire team. Sholto Thompson was extremely helpful in carrying out numerous viewings with us. The follow up by Sholto, after purchase terms were agreed, was enquiring without being pushy. Any questions we had for him or his client were rapidly answered.

Absolutely appalling sale experience

Absolutely appalling sale experience. Avoid at all costs. For a start, the brochure was so poorly written we had to re-write it ourselves. Our property (under £2m) was not deemed 'prime' and was handled by an arrogant and inexperienced junior member of the team, who failed to conduct the most basic due diligence on our potential buyer, took our property off the market without our agreement, failed to get us any further viewings, complacently relying on a single buyer who turned out to be anything but serious or remotely able to afford to buy our property. Arrogant, unprofessional, a complete waste of time and money, a very costly mistake.

Our property was recently sold by Savills. The service provided was extremely professional from the initial assessment, photographing the property, marketing and sales . Appropriate buyers were matched with the property in a short space of time and although Covid restrictions had an effect on the timing of the sales process we were kept informed by Savills throughout . We would have no hesitation in recommending Savills Victoria Park and their agents : Harry and Chase.

Byeways - Thorpe-le-Soken

We have just exchanged contracts on our home, which will be our ninth move in order to downsize as we are now in our eighties. We first engaged a local agent and after virtually no interaction or feed back for months, we then engaged Savills and met Mr Jeremy Kemp. Jeremy’s professional and frequent reassuring advice proving not only financially beneficial but calming in a very difficult and protracted period, due to the Covid pandemic and our reticent buyer being in Iran, Luxembourg and Germany during negotiations. We are extremely grateful for the personal and first class attention that we have received and would always highly recommend Savills.

I’m incredibly pleased with the service…

I’m incredibly pleased with the service I received from Antony Cherriman at Savills in connection with the sale of my apartment. From finding potential buyers and helping me negotiate an ideal contract, he was always available and communicated how each part of the whole process would move forward. He also profoundly understood the need to reasure me that the process was going according to plan.Beyond his expertise and professionalism, he was very kind throughout the process. He answered all my questions with in-depth explanations, ensuring I fully understood what I was doing and why it was necessary.I’m so glad I chose Savills for my real estate process. Their knowledge and experience, combined with their patient approach, made this otherwise stressful event a smooth and successful process. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch real estate services!

We have had dealings with Savills in…Bristol and winchester

We have had dealings with Savills in Winchester and Bristol and each time they have been inefficient, unhelpful, unfriendly and totally detached. One lady told us we couldn’t view a property because of Covid and to just look at the pictures online. The house was a new build and empty so we couldn’t understand this. It wasn’t as though it was during lockdown either. Another lady phoned me to say “are you sure you want to see this house as it is on a very busy road”. Another turned up at 4.30 instead of 4pm as she’d made a mistake. If I was selling my house through Savills, I’d be furious.Since this review I’ve been contacted by Savills who gave me an email address asking me to contact someone to investigate this. I have tried to email them as requested only to have a reply “the recipient has failed to allow us to connect”. Typical of savills inefficiency

Savills Winchester Lettings & Property Management, think twice

I would like to share a 3-year Odyssey caused by our Lettings and Management office of Savills in Winchester. We let our next-door cottage through Savills Winchester and have it managed by them for around 3 years. What was an excellent service to start with deteriorated when the management was taken centrally to a London office. We are now having the 4th agent looking after us and every time we try to resolve a longstanding issue this person is gone. Some 2 years ago we had a bathroom refurbished by one of Savills contractors. Since then the shower is leaking, the grouting is coming up and as a consequence now the wall plaster is starting to come off. Savills sent various other contractors to look at the original work and all of them have confirmed it was installed incorrectly. The last one even charged me for coming out to have a look. I have tried to get the problem rectified or receive a refund through Savills for 2 years, still unresolved. Finally, last week I was told that the contractor no longer works with Savills and therefore they are unsure what “can and cannot be done”… In addition, there are various other examples of ill management we had an exploding fridge caused by an unattended leak, dripping taps and when the boiler failed the tenant was without hot water for 10 days showering in our house until finally I myself got our own plumber to fix the problem. Every six months their Winchester agent assesses the property and comes up with a list of faults. Last time on 17 August - nothing has happened since and I again have started to use our own handyman to rectify the problems. I called Savills yesterday morning and was told to get an update by the EOB, nothing happened. The next step I am taking now is to see if we can mutually agree to cease the contract between Savills and us letting our lovely neighbour stay. He said to me yesterday that he is so tiered of Savills having written himself 20 plus emails with no action taken.

Dreadful experience...

This particular review is for the Sevenoaks branch of Savills which is absolutely dreadful and has caused my partner and I a great deal of stress over the last year or so. We rented a property through Savills in the local area. Before and during the tenancy, they failed to establish a clear relationship between themselves and the landlord which therefore had a constant adverse affect on the communication and problems we faced with the property during our tenancy. From the initial application process and the communication during the tenancy to the eventual process of checking out, they failed in all areas to provide even an average level of service. They ignored calls and emails, often promising to get back to us but they never did. Whenever we did manage to speak with them, we were greeted with rude, dismissive attitudes. They shunned any responsibility they had towards the property, reminding us it was managed by the landlord - however they never seemed to communicate this fact properly with the landlord in question. They were dismissive, unsupportive and on one particular occasion- very sly! Not to mention, the immense pressure we felt from them during the uncertainty of lockdown back in March to sign onto another 12 month tenancy... Overall, do not waste your time either letting your property through this company OR consider letting one of their properties as a tenant. If you do, you’ll wish you’d seen this review sooner. We’ll be making a formal complaint about the individuals involved directly to head office in due course. Thank goodness we’re now settled and happy in a new property with an estate agents that have been great.UPDATE:I find it amusing that just 2 hours after I posted this review, this specific branch of Savills in Sevenoaks received a 5* review that was clearly manufactured. Rather than responding to my genuine complaint, they deemed it acceptable to simply offset my negative review with a fake positive one. To be honest, I’m hardly surprised. Avoid these people at all costs...

Rented an apartment at the heart of…

Rented an apartment at the heart of Birmingham, but moved out recently. The tenancy itself was fine, no complaints there. Since I've moved out, I have been chasing my deposit back for over 5-6 weeks. Their answer? they are waiting on an invoice from the cleaning company because the apartment required "further cleaning". It's the same answer every time I ask for an update, considering the current economic climate I'm not entirely sure why a cleaning company would struggle to produce a simple invoice when requested to do so? Anyway... the confusing part is that I disputed the checkout as soon as I received it, simply because myself and my partner spent a whole day cleaning everything to avoid this exact charge, even the pictures they took themselves for the "checkout" show that the apartment was clean and tidy, which renders this invoice completely useless and we should be discussing in further detail what actually needed "cleaning" so I could maybe understand exactly what they meant and if I am in the wrong, so be it. But this feels like predatory behaviour and they are likely doing this to thousands of innocent renters who just accept the charge. I've since asked them to allow the DPS to be involved so we can submit evidence and get this over and done with with their help, it's now been over a week and still haven't heard anything. Seriously, do not use them. Find a local estate agent that works hard for your custom instead. If renting in Birmingham avoid both Martin Co and Savills. Both utterly underwhelming in their CS considering the vast resources they both have.

Property Rental & Management

The team at Savills Chiswick have been tremendous in how they have liaise with the tenant to take care of maintenance issues and general upkeep. Sam Ing specifically is very timely and organised when it comes to any and all payments due / needed license or permit applications and as a whole always ensures all aspects related to the management contract are on time and adequately delivered.

Savills Putney office impressed

Savills Putney office acted for us on our sale and, coincidentally, our purchase. We were impressed throughout and would fully recommend them. They showed a real interest in our sale, such that their entire sales team, including both heads of office, visited our house to get to know it before it went on the market. It also didn’t matter who picked up our call when we phoned - everyone was friendly, helpful, and clued-up. We were particularly impressed at how they calmly kept a long and unwieldy chain together throughout what has been a testing time during lockdown etc. From what we saw they were honest and straightforward in negotiations. We would definitely use them again.

Experiencing Savills - the tenant's perspective.

As a potential tenant relocating from Denmark, and having not been a tenant since University days, I was walked through the process by the Savills team, who were prompt in their responses, knowledgeable &, even though they represent their client, consistently helpful. From start to finish, the exercise took only 10 days and was surprisingly uncomplicated. Since we moved into the rented property, the Savills team have followed through by offering the right kind of support by answering our odd query with their customary speed. If I was the landlord, I'd be delighted by their efforts. The only negative element was the efforts of of the third party specialist dealing with the inventory & key handover. When I raised the matter, Savills acted promptly and were on site quickly to correct the failed handover process.

Renting with Savills

We recently rented through Savills and gave had the worst service from any supplier ever. They never checked the property before we moved in no up to date inventory, broken promises, lies, incorrect info on the property advertise brochure etcetera. I am tied into a lease but I will never make the same mistake again. 2 months after moving in and still waiting for things to be repaired. And its all Covid 19 fault! The only concern has been for us to pay our deposit and rent. We are expected to maintain lease conditions but these apparently don't apply to them.Savills are beyond poor.Update 5th Aug 2020. I have had a response from Savills customer care who have investigated and apologised for the issues we found after moving in and issues not resolved and noted before moving in. The customer services are satisfied that Savills are doing everything they can despite the extended time frame and have also apologised for the incorrect E band advertising. So there we are all better now they have apologised. Nothing else. No upgraded resolution time or sense of urgency displayed. No outcome timetable.Nothing.My recommendation is try someone else. Not easy because they are so big.My rating in the 5 star rating is still ZERO.

Sale of a lovely waterside property …

It has been a difficult 6 months despite having moved 12 times before. James Abbott patiently helped me through the tensions of believing our home was worth much more than his estimate, of ‘no viewing weeks’ when we kept the house tidy for no reason, and his careful nurturing of potential buyers. I would strongly recommend Savills for their knowledge of the local market, and in particular the intricacies of our particular site. Thanks to all the staff
