robinsons sedgefield

writing this review on behalf of my elderly mother who has recently sold a house through yourselves, Sedgefield branch. My mother has been displaying the earliest signs of dementia an the team have honestly gone above and beyond to advertise and sell my childhood home. Ryan McKenna came out straight away and got the property up and running, marketed to a great standard. A buyer was found quite quickly and shown around by Ryan also. The sale was dealt with from start to finish by Jade and Sharon, who are both extremely helpful and friendly. Thankyou Robinsons for being so easy to deal with and understanding through this tough time.

Sedgefield branch

I wanted to put in writing how thankful I am to Robinsons Sedgefield Branch. It was the first time selling my home and they made the process so much easier. Sharon, Ryan and Danni are an asset to Robinsons. They were professional, transparent and approachable. I would recommend them to others and would certainly use them again. Thank you.

Good communication from Robinsons

I recently completed a purchase of a house after having to wait close to 8 months since my offer was accepted. Keeping in regular contact with Angela at the Crook office was easy and helped ensure the process went as quickly as it could. She regularly looked for updates which she shared with me, making a big difference and helping me to remain patient. Thank you for the support Angela.

Fabulous from start to finish.

Robinsons have been fabulous from start to finish. The valuation of our property was researched and well informed, the photos were of a very high standard and the team answered any questions we had whenever we called. We were put on the market promptly and we sold our house quickly. In the office, they were very patient answering all of our questions as it was our first time in a chain. I've compared our experience to those of friends who used other estate agents and I genuinely felt that Robinsons were superior in every way, and at a very reasonable cost.

Excellent service throughout the entire sales process.

We were very pleased with the service we received from the Hartlepool branch from the initial marketing of our property, all the way through to completion. Despite the difficult months during the pandemic, we were still able to communicate with the team and receive feedback from potential buyers. We were particularly grateful for the regular updates we received from Robinsons during the conveyancing process as this can be a lengthy and sometimes frustrating time with very little information coming from the solicitors. We would therefore highly recommend Robinsons.

Abnormal behaviour for an estate agent

Durham branch. Impossible to get through to, had to seek out property owner ourselves, they then lied several times about trying to contact us back, landlord said himself we were preferred for the property, finally got through to arrange a viewing, estate agents then didn't turn up for our viewing, when we called upset as partner had taken time off work and lost a whole days wage, they again lied about having tried to contact us to let us know and then claimed the property owner had already accepted an offer, when we contacted property owner he said that that wasn’t true. Bizzare. Basically called myself, my partner and the property owner all liars. Believe the property manager’s name is Danielle.

I chose Robinsons Bishop Auckland to…

I chose Robinsons Bishop Auckland to sell my house because I had a good service from them when purchasing the house. Although the process was slow due to COVID-19 and a delay on the house we were purchasing due to their new build not being ready, this was no fault of Robinsons and they kept us up to date with information they gathered. I had trouble with the company we were buying from and was given contradicting information from them, so when I contacted Robinsons, they were quick to find out what was going on and they let me know what was happening which was great. Sam and Natalie in particular were very helpful throughout and Sam especially always has a friendly and happy manner.

Could have been handled better

The actual sale of the property went well, however my experiences prior to finding a seller were not what I expected: I felt that the property was over-value but was assured that the price was right for both the property and the area. As I didn't hear anything about viewings, I contacted the agents to be told that there were a lot of hits on the internet which showed there was interest - my view was that if the hits weren't becoming viewings, something was wrong and I felt it was the asking price. A buyer did come along but withdrew. I gave it another couple of weeks and again heard nothing. I again contacted the agents and this time the price was reduced at my instigation, and as that still didn't attract prospective buyers, I made a further reduction which the staff agreed was the right thing to do. This had the desired effect - plenty of viewings and a buyer who has now completed the purchase. I felt that had I now contacted the agents and suggested a price reduction, nothing would have happened. I still feel disappointed with the lack of contact from the agents: internet hits are not a good way of judging interest, that can only be done by the number of viewings; staff were not proactive in making contact, that was done by myself. As stated, the sale went well, but I am left with a feeling the whole process could have gone better.

FANTASTIC SERVICE!!

FANTASTIC SERVICE!!! Robinsons were the second estate agent we engaged with to sell our property and their service was excellent from start to finish (wish i'd gone with them from the start). Everything from the initial meeting right through to viewings and then completion. I couldn't have asked for a more focused and dedicated service. The office staff were on top of every element of the sale and helped navigate us through what is traditionally one of life's more stressful events. Highly recommended!!!!

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS SERVICE AND THE…

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS SERVICE AND THE WORST EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF BEING INVOLVED IN. From start to finish, nearly a year from my initial enquiry to buy a property in Hartlepool I can honestly say there is not a chance I will ever deal with this poor excuse of an estate agent ever again and I most certainly would not recommend them to anyone unless being messed around is what your after then these guys are the best in the business. Without wanting to go through every detail and frankly run out of characters in this post I’d simply like to recount my experience and hope they may learn from it. Found a property they were marketing and called on numerous occasions to book a viewing to be told there was a “problem” and viewings were not available at that time. (Can’t remember exact excuse as there have been so many since) This continued for weeks to then be told the property was coming off the market. Fair enough, or so I thought. Then a few weeks later, same property returns to market 12% more expensive 🤷‍♂️. I mean, that’s a great street to live in right, an increase like that I’m surprised more people didn’t sell up there & then ? I was then allowed to view this remarkable property and decided the price increase was not worthy of an offer due to the fact not a single thing had changed about it in the interim period. I was told (here’s where the facts get a bit hazy) that the seller had originally been offered a part exchange on a more expensive property where the offer was 12% higher than the original asking price. Ok, your the “experts” I thought, I’ll take the explanation in good faith. Decided it was too much for me so continued my search for the coming weeks. The property then reduced by 6% and didn’t sell, then another 6% and ended up back where it started. The shortest property boom in history one might say ! Once it returned bk to its actual value I then asked to view again, this time I managed to get an appointment and after some haggling decided to put forward an offer. Eventually, after some chasing this was accepted and the sales progress (or lack of it in this case) begins. From this point on and in the interest of not putting you to sleep I’d simply say that the process was a continuation of the previous experience but with added amounts of bad service, lack of contact, forgetfulness, blaming of other staff members and a fair amount of excuses (some bordering on the ridiculous) the only thing that wasn’t said was that the dog ate the paperwork. After almost 6 months of my perseverance and my constant struggles to even get someone to call me when promised I was almost at the point of completion when I’m told that “suddenly” the vendors solicitors have now disclosed that there is actually a search telling them a unilateral order exists on the property which was “missed” and states the vendor has secured funding still attached to the property. How on earth this wasn’t disclosed or found until the last minute I’m at a loss to answer but there’s the last excuse given. Ok, enough is enough now, I have pulled out sighting the catalogue of issues, horrendous service & other details relating to this fiasco as my reason. Within minutes the estate agent had sent an email confirming that I had pulled out (quickest part of the last years mess by the way). However, they returned my confirmation with an incorrect address of residence. Hahahaha, UNBELIEVABLE I REST MY CASE !!!Stay away unless you want to be messed about from start to finish.

Damon · 13 October 2020

Agent replied · 16 June 2024

Hi DamonThank you for your review. We do take very seriously every review we receive and use clients comments to try and improve our service across our office network.I have looked at your file and discussed your review with the team at Hartlepool. When we act for a vendor it is their decision as to what price is placed on their property. In your case the price did change as a result of instructions from the owner. This may be confusing but was out of our control.Throughout the sale of a property we try to keep in touch with many people including the vendor, purchaser, solicitors, surveyors, banks and building societies to make sure the sale goes through as smoothly as possible. Sometimes events occur which are totally out of our control and in your case there were events which may have caused you some additional stress. These were due to unforseen circumstances. We do try very hard to assist in the sales process wherever we can and in the majority of cases the sale does proceed to completion without problems.I do hope you have found an alternative property and that it goes through without any problems. Thanks again for your review.Regards.Simon Wright.Director.

We've been using Robinson's the Estate Agents at Chester-Le-Street for the letting of our portfolio for several years now.We let our properties out to working professional tenants and time after time the awesome team at Robinson's, led by their great Manager, Michael Hughes, have come up trumps. Our tenants, found by Robinson's, stay with us for years. We receive an amazing service. Professional, very fast and above and beyond our expectations. Trying to do it by ourselves is a false economy. We have absolutely no hesitation in stating that if you want the right letting agent in your corner then don't look beyond Robinson's.

Mark,Many thanks for taking on the selling of the above property. When you first came round to talk to us we were very impressed with your professionalism and guidance and we were in no doubt about leaving this in your hands. All the staff have been very friendly keeping us informed about how things were going. It seems to have been a long slog but of course Covid19 got in the way. I was quite surprised at how cheap the houses in that road were being sold for but your advice was quite right. Also, I know the house needed quite a bit doing to it.Many thanks again to you and your staff.RegardsNorrie Earl

Our family just moved from Canada and…

Our family just moved from Canada and we called the Robinsons Estate Agents. We explained that we would be in Durham this Saturday for errands and wanted to move to that location. We had one property that we were interested in and the woman on the phone was short answered and to put it bluntly, rude. She said they were all booked and busy. My husband said ok, can you send me properties for the moment and she said no. The applications take two weeks. So my husband said, ok, then she then hung up on him. Well won't be using them anytime soon nor will we recommend them to others. Great impression Robinsons Estate Agents thanks for not making us feel welcome and we will take our money elsewhere. And fyi, Another company has already sent us properties and made us feel welcome. D Robinson

As it is not possible to leave a zero…

As it is not possible to leave a zero star rating I have been forced to make it one star.I have continuously experienced severe issues regarding Robinsons and the staff I have been in contact with. I moved into one of their properties on October 18th,after having previously viewed it on the 11th September 2019.During the viewing a stated a number of issues I wished to be resolved before I moved in. Photographs of these issues were taken and I was given the confidence they would be resolved before I moved in. These consisted of :- A yard full of rubbish.- Only one bin.- A water stain above a window highlighting an issue.- Scuff marks to the kitchen floor and areas of damage.- Damage to the kitchen cupboards. - no fire alarm downstairs. Amongst multiple other issues. Fast forward to moving day. The rubbish was still overflowing in the yard, the flooring and cupboards were still in the exact same state. The rubbish that had also been left discarded throughout the property was still there. Many phone calls later, the rubbish was removed. Found amongst it were needles and bags of human feces. More calls later and a lot of pathetic excuses, as per, I was finally graced with a second bin. Que the water works. Not me, the house. The staining that I had previously pointed out which, made obvious at this point, had not been resolved, had been revived thanks to the weather into a fresh flow of water. This persisted, while it lay neglected, for months. Many many more calls later and a lot of writing, this had large coverage over two main walls and became apparent in other areas of the house....... Throughout winter. The walls also began to sprout their own form of greenery known as black mould. Que the steady and persistent influx of "contracters" (with no actual work in sight for months). At this point it was discovered that there were over 10 holes in the roof and asbestos on the walls and ceiling...... Where the water was continuing to flow through, of course.5 days before Christmas - I was told I may receive a phone call at any point to say I had to move into temporary accommodation straight away. I never received a call.I had to wait until the office was open once more to pick up where we left off. Yes that means yet more calls and messages. In February, nearly 6 months later and after the landlord had admitted he shoved it to the side as unimportant, I eventually got a new roof. Though I was only informed the day before and given not time for this to occur or consideration for the mainly elderly residents or myself. Two cowboys turned up, before they finished with the roof they took out upon themselves to grace me with a new sky light in the form of a hole in my bedroom ceiling. Thanks guys! Which they then proceeded to fill with the old, mouldy soaking wet insulation and leave. You may see a bit of a theme here. Basically this continued. I was then handed a section 21 (for requesting the work be done) which I was still expected to abide during the initial stages of lockdown, again a week before the original moritorium was drawing to a close, and again just before the completion of the second. When I was then furnished with repossession paperwork.I found the staff to be very unhelpful and evasive with the inability to make and support the simple organisation skills needed to provide this area of service. At one point I was told a house was being arranged for me to move into without my knowledge. And that's in between being spoken to and treat as though I was a member of staff. Whilst occupying an uninhabitable property in such a disgraceful condition. The mould was still there when I moved out a year later. I have never had such an abismal experience as a first time customer or been treat so poorly, when a want being fed feeble excuses or just blatantly fobbed off. I had Environmental health involved, the branch manager, regional manager and a couple of members of staff. How many estate agents does it take to fix a house? Or ensure it is safe from the moment a tenant moves in, as is legally established. Answers on a post card.I would never recommend this company to anyone, more likely the exact opposite. 0 stars, would not come here, would not try ever again, would not stop, would keep walking.
