DO NOT BUY

Honestly where to start.. we bought our Avant home nearly 2 years ago and we have had endless issues! We bought a house on Chevin Park originally sold to its residents as a self contained village which would have its own amenities however, Avant are greedy and decided to fill it to the brim with houses instead which has put immense pressure on the local facilities due to the amount of people now living here. As per other reviews you will spend years after moving in chasing issues going round in circles, blaming others and promising call backs you never receive. Lauren head of customer services doesn’t reply to emails either even for serious issues! The Clock Tower building we live in has endless issues the ballroom roof is leaking the doors are broken leaving it open to security issues! The area behind the building ‘Highroyds Court’ has no street lighting and uneven tarmac the road sign has blow down numerous times. One of the main issues with the Clock Tower as a whole is the roofs and window sealants falling out due to cheap materials which Avant promised to follow up which they never have, the tiles on the roofs are falling off people have leaks in their homes! The list is endless! Avant are now trying to pass the site to a management company asap to wipe their hands of it all! Disgusting

Lynsey was very nice. Showed us around the home. They house is built to a high spec. Unfortunately for me it's about 50 minutes away so it will not work with my commitments. Would love to live there though.

Exciting Avant new build

After 40 wonderful years in our previous house it was with a certain amount of apprehension that we decided to slightly downsize and move into a new build with Avant. We needn’t have worried, the options of design were varied and exciting, the sales staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the whole event to moving in seamless. The quality of the house is excellent and with our own personal after sales service manager Laura to talk to regarding any problems we couldn’t be happier.Ian & Jan Robinson

1 star is lucky

1 star is lucky! We have had various issues with our home, gradually getting worse. We are based at Highstonehall and would say to everyone AVOID this builder, we were sold the dream and left with a nightmare. The worst part is their after sales, I now have escalated to their managing director in Scotland who doesn’t even respond or acknowledge- issues include burst pipes, sinking garden and most frustratingly a disgusting attitude. Avoid at all costs - I wish we heeded the warnings people gave us!

Absolute cowboys builders!

I don’t think I can even fully put into words how terrible Avant homes are. We bought a house Greenhall village plot 212 April 2021. We have had nothing but problems since the day we moved in. We have had barely any our snagging fixed. They gave us old rusty windows who this is even possible in a new build I do not know. Never seen a sink so badly scratched, kitchen drawer broke, all kitchen cupboards misaligned. Plumbing issues in all each of the toilets. Need to flush twice always. Drainage sounds like thunder. Ticking in en-suite told they would need to rip up tiles to fix it then never came back. Every floor is squeaky. We did have someone come fix the creak in the stairs and he said they had been build wrong. My mental health is deteriorating as I now genuinely fear for the structure of the rest of my house. Door bell doesn’t work. Struggled to open windows. WC flooded.The list is endless and new problems keep arising. Externally our back path was never completed we actually ended up paying someone to come pave it ourselves as the builders have now packed up and left the site. Site manager is incompetent we complained about him and Avant sent him to resolve our complaint. He told us none of our issues were able to get fixed as they didn’t any contractors to do it. We have complained to every contact in Avant we could find yet no response. When we do get hold of someone they just fob us off saying they have the list someone willbe in touch. I just don’t understand how they can get away with this. So many people in our estate all have the same issues it’s a disgrace how the site manager etc has overseen these homes been built to this standard.

The whole process of buying my new home with Avant has been brilliant and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I was in touch with members of the sales team before they'd even started to build The Melton. I explained that I had a very poorly son and I knew that there was a house and plot that would be perfect for him. From that point onwards they supported me through the process of buying and moving into said house. Everyone I spoke to was kind, sensitive and patient. I believe they went above and beyond throughout. Since moving in, the after sales team and the building team working on the development have been most helpful. They even rebuilt a brick column that I reversed the car into on the same day!!I would absolutely, definitely, 100% recommend buying a new house from Avant. Everyone involved helped to make my new house a home... so thank you Avant Homes.

This is our second Avant home in 4…

This is our second Avant home in 4 years and we deliberately went for them as a builder because of the quality of build and the excellent customer service we received first time. We have not been disappointed in any way. From reservation through to completion and the usual problems of house sales along the way, the sales team were brilliant. Once we were in, the site staff have been fantastic and friendly and highly aware that while we are still on a building site, we are also in our new home. Additionally, the customer service team and the follow up to the buying and moving process have been great. Yes we have had some snagging issues but they have been dealt with in a professional manner and to a high standard. Very happy with all aspects of Avant.

Oh dear

Oh dear avant homes . Where do I start ? Maybe from our first visit to the show home in Mansfield where we were told by the sales rep whilst she was eating her salad and (maybe selling the houses but still not sure🤔) that if we could all win the lottery we could afford an avant home 😳. It got better. Many unreturned phone calls. Valuations on our house that showed we could afford to buy our dream house and erm …. nothing. Not quite sure what to think. Anyway have since got a house with a very professional company that actually return your calls and treat you like a valued customer.

Buying a house is never easy and can be stressful… however you know you can pick up that phone or go to the Avant office and you get greeted with the warmest welcome and they work to resolve any issues or concerns you have . Any house snags were listed in no time and within days they were being resolved … great service and the workmen so so friendly .I even lost my new house keys on move in day .. Do not purchase an avant house

Purchased an avant house in April 2021 and it’s been horrific from the very start. When we first moved in we were promised that after a year someone would come out to look at our snag list! A gentleman started correcting all the cracks in the house after 6 months but when he came back to paint over what he plastered it was cracked again so he said he’d come back in another six months and do it all then. He did not show up so I contacted avant and stated that he was due to return and complete my snag list. Avant refused to send him back out stating we had to fix the snags ourselves (BROKEN PROMISE NUMBER 1). I then had a plumbing issue which was the drains not my toilet and they told me if I got a plumber out who would state it’s the drains then they would reimburse me the money and send someone out to look at the drains (there’s always been a drain problem on this estate) I paid for a plumber and invoiced me and stated it was the drains not my plumbing. I did as they stated, I then contact avant asking for someone to come and have a look at the drains and they then told me I then needed to contact a drain specialist myself, which was completely different to what I was told the first time and then I was down money for paying the plumber and my issue wasn’t resolved (BROKEN PROMISE NUMBER 2). I then contacted avant in regards to my washing machine which they plumed in and I have leaks in my hall way and down stairs toilet ceilings. The avant technician drew around my leak marks and said he will come back in a months time and if they’ve gotten bigger I have a leak and they will sort it. Despite being told by the avant technician he would come back avant have refused to send him out (BROKEN PROMISE NUMBER 3). Avant is big on making you purchase a house and saying how you’re always looked after but when you’re moved in they are just empty promises. It’s disgusting. I will never purchase an Avant homes again.

Poor contractors but nice estate

The sales experience wasn't great , spec changed after we had signed up but couldn't get compensation. After this the house itself is nice BUT trying to get snags fixed is a nightmare. the sub contractors do as they please and customer care are powerless to get them to do things, very poor management support for the people on the phoe who take the brunt of buyers frustrations and annoyance. Contractors work not really up to standard and unreliable at turning up. TBH we fixed quite a lot ourselves. Also Avant were very unhelpful, not to say obstructive when we wanted to put solar panels on our house. Having said that we like the house and estate so go ahead if you can put up with the frustrations of the subcontractors not fixing the snags.

Monkswood

Our opinion on New Builds has certainly changed! Recently we have purchased and moved in to our forever family home on the Monkswood site and from the start the team have been nothing but helpful and accommodating. As with everything in life there had been a few minor hurdles (mainly with the part exchange) but nothing that had been a deal breaker. Since moving in, Ian, Dave, Lisa and Zara have been incredible. Everything had been explained to us reagarding our new home and details left in case we needed anything. We have had a few very minor snags (mainly cosmetic) which have been recorded and dealt with efficiently whilst keeping us up to date on progress. We honestly couldn't recommend the site team or the quality of the build enough. We absolutely love our new home and can't wait to make many happy memories as a family. A big thank you to the site team for making our move as seamless and effortless as possibly, we truly are very grateful for all of the help and support.

Avant North East - Absolute Joke

What a nightmare Avant North East and their tradesmen are. We have used a full years holiday entitlement in 3 months waiting in for appointments to fix snagging issues. Their tradesmen turn up and look at the job and disappear never to be seen again. Then a different person comes to look at it again. If they do actually carry out any repairs they always manage to make them worse and then have to come back yet again. We asked for compensation for all of the time off that we have had to take as we now don't have enough holidays to cover child care in the school holidays but they have refused to offer us anything at all. Absolutely socking. Where they get their tradesmen from is beyond me. The must be the cheapest of the cheap.

Excellent I have just moved into an Avant homes new build. The process was amazing from start to finish. Lisa and Fiona the sales representatives have been so friendly and helpful. Bob Jarvis the site manager has gone above and beyond to help us. As with all new builds you get snagging issues. Bob has made sure most of these issues have been resolved within the first week absolutely amazing I would also like to mention Adam another site manager who has been so helpful. Avant homes you have excellent staff working for you! Can’t fault Avant homes. The houses are beautiful.
