We invited a number of agents to look at marketing our property. We had never heard of Storey Estates until we spotted a Sale Agreed board on a property just around the corner. Given their obvious success with a similar sized house, in the same location it seemed like a good idea to get in touch. From the moment Ian arrived we found him to be very professional and very knowledgeable, especially in terms of the type of property we were selling and the market value. Ian explained everything very clearly and in detail but in a way that didn’t overwhelm us with real estate jargon and most importantly, no pressure! He left us with a range of documents and brochures so that we could decide how we wanted to proceed in our own time. When it comes to marketing the property these guys are head and shoulders above everyone else. The quality of the images and videos they provided are second to none and really showed off the house in the very best possible way. The launch was carefully planned to maximise interest and on the day it was launched we were agreeing dates for viewings. In all it took less than 3 weeks before we accepted an offer over the asking price! Throughout this very short period we were kept fully informed on feedback, level of interest and the position of the prospective buyers. When it came to accepting the offer Ian negotiated a price that we were very happy with. Throughout the sale Alison has been amazing. She has stayed in constant communication with ourselves, our buyers and respective solicitors, keeping everything moving along (which hasn't been easy at times given the impact of COVID-19). In recent years my wife and I had discussed at great length a desire to move to Cornwall. Growing up in Cornwall, I have family and friends there and we wanted a change of pace and a different quality of life. While this had always been something we considered doing at some point in the future, when the pandemic happened, we decided not to put it off any longer. Once decided we wanted to get things going as quickly as possible. Storeys came through! Within a very short period we were on the market and very soon after that sold. We are now living in Cornwall, enjoying spending time with friends and family and of course, walks on the beach. If you are considering using Storey’s, then we can highly recommend. Cannot recommend Ian and his team at Storeys enough. We put our house on the market in February 2020 with a "high street agent" who shall remain nameless. After several months of doing our own viewings which were all booked last minute, a sale that fell through and several offers which just disappeared, my wife and I were at the end of our tether and gave Ian a call at Storeys. Although the 2% fee was twice as much as our previous agent, we didn’t have to pay for anything upfront, so we had nothing to lose (previous agent wanted £300 for pictures/Rightmove listing). Advice was given on what to do to make our house more appealing for prospective buyers and the marketing done on the house in terms of the video, photos, floorplan and description were second to none. Within the space of 3 weeks, we had a lot more viewings booked than with the previous estate agent and an offer which we accepted. We have now exchanged/completed in a very short space of time. My advice is simply this, do not skimp on the biggest sale/purchase you will make. We got a higher price than offered with our previous agent, but the bottom line is we got the house sold within 3 weeks. Ian’s team did all of viewings rather than us, so that was a lot easier. Communication after the sale was great too, we will definitely be giving Storeys a call next time we sell. Storey’s Estates are absolutely miles ahead of their competition and a breath of fresh air. We had our home on the market with a few agencies and all were very average and we saw little activity. I have to admit to being hesitant at first as Storey’s are not the cheapest agent, but as the saying goes ‘if you think its expensive to hire a professional wait until you hire an amateur.’ This could not be more true and after months of our home being on the market we decided to get in touch. Storey’s do things differently and it works. From the professional photography and drone shots, to the impeccable communication and enthusiasm, it is clear that their prices reflect the quality of service you will receive. From the first phone call to Ian, we got great vibes. The following day a letter and brochure was hand posted through our door with more information about Storey’s on. Instantly we were impressed! A what’s app group was set up between us to communicate, which meant we could just fire over any questions and they were answered very promptly. Ian arranged a professional photoshoot and videographer to shoot our home, further setting them apart from other agents. The pictures were excellent quality and what really impressed me was when Ian went around each room meticulously staging it and clearing all the clutter away. Within my job, I know the importance of a good photo, so I knew I was onto a winner. As soon as our home went on the market, Ian and Alex set a ‘viewing date’ and booked in plenty of potential buyers. This really worked for us because the viewings were all completed in a day and saved us having to clean before every one (hard work with kids!). They also took care of all the viewings which was another bonus for us. Their advertising and marketing strategy really works because they don’t just stick to ‘traditional’ methods. They are very forward thinking and innovative. Ian and team came up with some excellent suggestions to help us in selling our home for what it was worth. On this advice, we gave it a new lick of paint which made all the difference. It was a small investment for a larger return in the long run. Unfortunately due to Covid, our sale didn’t go as smoothly as planned initially, however this does not take anything away from Storeys’ as they went above and beyond in the circumstances. We finally accepted an offer above asking price which was testament to the hard work from the team. Following this, the progression of the sale was superb. Alison was fantastic and kept us updated at all times, she even left us lots of voice note updates which was really convenient with a busy schedule. Finally, the icing on the cake was their recommended solicitors. Let’s just say they are miles ahead of any we have ever dealt with, thank you Caroline. The communication and execution to get to completion was exemplary! So to summarise, we would 100% recommend Storey’s if you want to sell your home quickly, above asking price, with the least amount of time and stress possible! They are trustworthy, honest and extremely professional. It was so refreshing to have this experience, within a market that doesn’t have a great reputation. My daughter recommended Storeys estate agents as she was selling a property through them. I hadn’t heard of them before but always like to go with a recommendation so gave Ian a call. I had confidence in Ian from the start and within days viewings had been set up for a rental property I own. Ian and his team set up a whats app group to keep everyone informed including initially my tenant. This method was so efficient and improved communication throughout the whole process. The second viewing resulted in a higher offer than expected and the house was sold. The sale took just 6 weeks from when I contacted Ian to completion. Why Storeys? People shop for houses for all sorts of reasons..in 2009 our reason was a new baby coming..so, when we bought Greystones it was a twice extended 1930’s house. An ill conceived muddle, but a great plot in the perfect area. My husband Adam stepped away from our interiors retail business to fully renovate the house. He deliberated every design decision with me and we came up with a beautiful eco house that far exceeds its subtle exterior. I mention this because most agents use the front of the house as a cover shot, that wouldn’t of worked so well for this house. In 2020 our reason for moving was to relocate to Whitby to begin a new business of holiday lets. To do this we needed to sell our house quickly and for the most it could achieve. I asked friends who had sold properties of a similar stature who they had used.. Ian’s name came up again and again. We contacted Ian in early summer 2020, the world was in turmoil, but Ian’s company were adapting and succeeding. Thriving even.. Our taste is unapologetically left of center..travels all over the world are represented in our home. We worried this may be “too ethnic” to market to another’s palate. Ian helped us to present our home to appeal to the widest of tastes. Even though we literally do this for a living, having someone else’s clear direction is so useful as it’s easy to become emotionally involved when it’s your own home. No one will be as honest with you as Ian. That’s priceless. Oh, and whilst we are on price. It’s not much more.. but Ian will sell your home much faster.. think how many mortgage payments you would of made in that time. How much is six months of mortgage payments whilst your house lingers on the market, as opposed to just thirteen days before accepting an offer £15k over asking as in our case. Things of worth are rarely cheap. As in good practice we had three estate agents out to value the property. All three made an excellent impression and are highly professional individuals. This speaks to the standard in Hartford and we are lucky to have the bar set so high. Ian didn’t value the highest, instead he explained his strategy and we instantly understood. The things that set Storeys apart are these.. The eleven point strategy. Which is explained on the first visit. The team that handle the social media. Ian is charmingly relentless in this, swift to respond to comments and has an army of friends happy to share the post about your house. The content of the marketing ie the video and photos. It’s invaluable, it’s also beautiful to keep. (Lately I can often be found rewatching the video of our house as I feel occasionally overwhelmed busy the scale of the task we have just begun) The after sales progression. (Because a sale isn’t real until it completes) the WhatsApp group keeps everyone up to date. The negotiations, here’s where they earn you the fee back! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Storeys to anyone. The whole team are friendly and professional. Moving house is undeniably stressful, but Storeys alleviated much of that.PositiveProfessionalism

We would wholeheartedly recommend Storeys! We were in the position last summer where we found the house of our dreams, marketed by Storeys, but we hadn't found a buyer for ours, so weren't in a strong position to have our offer accepted. Ian offered to come over and discuss the marketing of our house. We needed to move fast but achieve a good price. Storeys are more expensive than other estate agents, so we were slightly dubious, but Ian's marketing method and strong background convinced us. WOW!... the service we got was worth every single penny! Ian and the photographer came round the next day and helped to style the house... I thought I'd done a pretty good job tidying for the photos, but Ian went round moving things and making sure everything was right and the photographer took his time to get great shots. The photography is so good that I can spot a Storeys house on Rightmove straight away, just from the photo quality. Viewings were organised in blocks, meaning we didn't have to keep show house levels of tidiness (& also created urgency amongst potential buyers) and Ian dealt with all the negotiations in a professional and non-pushy manner. We had several offers on the first day of viewings and we accepted an offer that we were very happy with within 6 days of Ian coming round to discuss how he would market the property! This meant we were able to have our offer accepted on our dream home. We did view (or try to view!) other houses around Northwich via other estate agents and got a really lousy service as buyers, which makes us even more convinced we made the right decision using Storeys to sell our home and are thankful it was Storeys acting for us as buyers too. We were totally impressed with the service, guidance and effortless communication all the way through the process from instruction to completion. Ian and the team at Storey Estates have been fantastic. Always very responsive and accommodating to any requests regarding the purchase of our forever home and also provided useful recommendations e. g. Which local solicitor to use. Initially, we viewed the property with a "let's just rule it out" attitude, however we soon fell in love with its size, character and huge potential. We could easily imagine how it would look once it had a little TLC and carefully planned renovations. Booking appointments with Storeys was always an easy task and they always replied very promptly. They also took an interest in us as a couple as newly awaiting parents to be and did their best to hurry along the purchase where possible to meet our best interests, showing sensitivity to the fact that we had a specific time scale in mind. Once the sale had been agreed the level of contact was sufficient and efficient and we felt the communication was really strong and open. They were easily accessible should we need to contact them for any reason and often replied instantly. During the process, which at times was stressful (what house move isn't?!) they helped with any queries, and often put our mind at ease, once again we felt that they had our best interests at heart. Once we had officially completed on the property they gave us a parting gift of goodies which was such a lovely touch and very much appreciated. Also, it's clear that they care about their local community with Ian being very active and a respected presence on local social media groups. Marketing , photos and videography cannot fault , we didn't achieve the price we marketed at but it was a difficult time so hey . Our key gripe was communication , didn't introduce a new member of the sales team , yes apologies but we felt ignored , appointment made for our buyer to measure up curtains but dates and times messed up , apologies yes but with covid caused us issues . Promised that meter readings would be taken if we left the house empty but had to wait for the buyer to send them to the agent . 2 day delay . Not what I call a premium service at 2%. Today we find out that due to a failure of royal mail to correctly redirect our post the agents advice was to our buyer was return to sender. After we made the (somewhat spur of the moment) decision to put our house on the market and to look for a new home that would give us the chance of some significant lifestyle changes, the next decision was who to engage to market our house. I didn't know it at the time but choice of estate agent is an absolutely critical decision and luckily we made the right one! Ian and his team at Storey's were recommended to us by two sets of friends. I have to admit that I had never heard of Storeys (sorry Ian!). Both friends said the same thing, "Storey's will work hard for you. They have drive, they'll get people through the door and they actually care about the sale (unlike some of the larger agents that may not be too bothered if the house sits on their books for months on end). BUT.... they are more expensive than others". We invited Ian to value our house and he spent time with us explaining his marketing strategy. It all made complete sense and was infinitely more logical and structured than any other agent we spoke to. We were immediately convinced that Storey's was the right agent for us and that the slightly higher marketing fee would be returned to us through the sale price that Ian could achieve. The preparation and marketing launch process was a whirlwind, efficiently and professionally carried out by the Ian and his amazing photographer and videographer. Ian helped us 'stage' the house, making sure all of the rooms were presented in the best possible way. The photos and video far exceeded expectations and set the house apart from other houses being marketed by alternative agents. I do believe that those first impressions created by the photos and videos are vitally important for prospective buyers and help them to start to form a 'bond' to the house. The viewings flooded in within days (as planned under the Storey's strategy !!). Communication from the sales team was excellent and we were always kept up to date with feedback and developments. Within 2 months we started to get offers. The final offer that we accepted was significantly over our asking price and with the help of the Storey's Sales Progressor the sale was complete within 3 months. I really can't recommend the team at Storey's highly enough. As I said at the start of my review, I now know that choice of estate agent is critical in a house sale. Storeys have a strategy and a formula that works.... and they care. This makes them stand out. My advice would be: don't hesitate to choose Storey's to market your house.

As a Property solicitor I had worked with Storeys before and always admired their approach. When it came to selling my own house though, I was a bit concerned about the fee Storeys charge. Indeed we actually went with a cheaper agent initially. We found that after a few months we weren’t getting anywhere and really wanted to get moving. We had another chat with Ian who gave us some tips on what we could change and how to properly present our home for sale. We really appreciated his advice and decided to move forward with him despite our reservation about his fees. We noticed the difference as soon as the team arrived to take the photos. We had a professional photographer and videographer arrive and Ian was there to style the shoot and make our house look as good as possible. He advised us on when best to launch the property to maximise its potential too. When the property launched, Ian booked in 5 viewings straight away - all buyers in a good position to move forward. After one day of viewings and after literally a couple of days on the market the team had sold our house for £35k over the asking price! We were gobsmacked. To have gone from no offers at all to that was amazing! It was definitely worth his fee! We actually went on to buy a house through Storeys too and that’s when we got to experience the value of the sales progression team. Michelle is amazing, she pushes things along and deals with all and any issues with ease. We are now settled in our new home and we are finally able to move on to our next chapter in a bigger house to fit our growing family. Estate agents just take some photographs, write a few words, post a listing on Rightmove, then sit back and wait for the calls to come in, right? So why would we pay a large fee rather than just going for one of the “we’ll sell your house for £99” outfits? Take a look at the number of properties that were first listed in 2019 or even 2018 and that are still on the market. That’s why. We were introduced to Storey’s via a friend, and the first time we met with Ian he immediately dispelled any concerns we had. Yes, they are relatively new to the market compared to some of the more established names, but there’s a reason for that: the market needed a shake-up, and Storey’s are doing it. And yes, their fees are a little bit higher than the cheapest out there, but there’s a reason for that as well: price isn’t the same as value, and you get what you pay for. From start to finish our experience with Storey’s was refreshing, professional, and personal. When you’ve lived in your home for years you don’t always see the things that you love, but that might put buyers off. Ian came along and was refreshingly, sometimes brutally, honest and told us what buyers wanted. He’d done his homework and brought a plan, how we would present the house, how we would sell the lifestyle, how we would “go to market” to maximise interest. We were sold, and so it began. Where other agents came along and took photographs with their mobile phones, Ian brought his team and did the job properly: Professional photographer, videographer, camera drone, setting the lighting, even arranging the cushions. Don’t underestimate the small touches, we’ve subsequently looked at other listings and the houses with washing on the radiators or where the duvet hasn’t been smoothed-out stand out like a sore thumb. Attention to detail really does count and people really do notice. And it worked. Exactly one week after launching the property we went out for the day and Aidan hosted a dozen back-to-back viewings, again all done supremely professionally, particularly under the current circumstances. A day later and the offers started to come in and Ian went to work again, once more demonstrating Storey’s professionalism and working in the best interests of their clients. This person still has to sell their property; this person is a cash buyer; this person is local so won’t be surprised by the searches. The highest offer isn’t necessarily the best offer, particularly if it involves a long chain or is unlikely to make it to completion. Ian’s advice and negotiation skills were invaluable. Then Alison kicks in, another Storey’s differentiator (that they don’t sell highly enough). Day in, day out, talking to your solicitors, your buyer’s solicitors, your buyer’s estate agents, your buyer’s buyer’s estate agents, chasing things through all the way along the chain to keep everything moving and to make sure every “i” is dotted and every “t” crossed. Three months on and we still remember Alison’s introductory comment: “Don’t worry, if you don’t hear from me it’s because I’m moving everything along in the background. If something goes wrong, then I’ll contact you.” Nothing did go wrong. So here we are three months down the line. We achieved £10k over the asking price, which more than offset Storey’s costs. We’ve completed our sale and moved into rented accommodation, which put us in the best possible situation to negotiate a great deal, and we are now looking forward to moving in to our new home. Would we recommend Storey’s to a friend? Well the next time we come to sell there’s only one person we’ll be calling.

Selling the home we loved in search of something better for our growing family felt like a daunting and impossible task. However, Storey Estates made the whole process from start to finish COMPLETELY stress free. From the minute we met to discuss our options, we knew we could trust them to put our interests first. The process was easy, they were available any time, any day, every day... for anything. The advice they gave us and the time spent to ensure the Photographs did our property justice was incredible. We felt they cared from the first moment. And they were able to secure us a price for our home that we were extremely happy with (more than other estate agents had suggested we would get!).
