Trustpilotwould not recommend this company to any…
would not recommend this company to any landlord. The fees are extremely high, with additional charges that are not always made clear from the outset. Communication is poor, and it is often very difficult to get hold of staff when you need support or answers.
The contractors they use are also significantly overpriced, leaving landlords with unnecessarily expensive maintenance bills. For the amount charged, the level of service provided is disappointing. Overall, my experience has been frustrating, costly, and poor value for money. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

TrustpilotSTAY AWAY - BRIDGFORDS DARLINGTON
I purchased a property from Bridgfords in December 2025.
They have been holding the keys. I arranged my own contractors to start renovating the property. Bridgfords decided to change the locks without my consent and knowledge, I have been chasing them for almost a month now to get the money refunded back to me but it has been a struggle and a battle.
Do not use this agency as they cannot be trusted and are horrible and difficult to work with.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE INCOMPETANT, GREEDY MONEY GRABBERS

TrustpilotThank you so much Holly at Stockton Heath's Bridgefords
I had a wonderful tour with Holly from Bridgeford's Stockton Heath. I didn't feel rushed and she was very attentive, patient with all my questions and built a quick rapport with me. She always answered the phone and emails professionally and gave thorough and informative replies, always keeping me in the loop as my application for my new rental progressed through all the stages. I highly recommend her. Steph xxx

TrustpilotThe worst out there
The worst out there, put us through so much drama, very stressful and mentally draining, their mortgage broker is absolutely useless, 4 months later we were declined, absolute waste of time, waste of energy, they just didn't want us to buy it for some reason, maybe because we are a different skin colour to them! Stay away from the burnley branch, good lord, how do they get away with this bs.

TrustpilotBridgefords are the worst estate agents…
Bridgefords are the worst estate agents i have ever come across, i am so glad i did not decide to sell my house with them! They never answer the calls, constantly leaving voicemails, very rarely they call you back! I viewed a property with them a week or so ago & no follow up phone call the following day, I wanted to make an offer , left several voicemails & nothing! Please avoid Bridgefords at all costs. They are the worst estate agents i have ever come across. Please stay away!

Trustpilotignored, patronised and falsely accused
3 months into our tenancy we've experience the following with Bridgfords/Countrywide/Entwistle Green (no, I have no idea why they all take turns to email me or why they have different names if they're basically all the same company):
* being told I had incorrectly logged repair reports online, despite following the printed handout we were given upon arrival to the letter. when I explained this, all I was met with was "the name of the person who gave you this information". I didn't really care about that, I just wanted the repairs done. This employee then ghosted us and never messaged back.
*several issues we reported in our first week STILL have not been addressed, it's a joke.
*it took around a month of emails and phone calls with various other employees just to get somebody to sort our broken boiler and thermostat out; we had no heating all that time and this was when it was still freezing every day.
*we were instructed to order a bin from the local council and pay for the bin ourselves, then minus that fee from our next rent payment. despite being told to do this, Countrywide/Bridgfords sent us a threatening email saying we were in arrears. I replied back saying this was rubbish, only to be ignored for two days. I only got a reply when I sent a follow up saying I would message literally every day until they backed off and apologised. Funnily enough, 5 minutes later, they finally replied.
*it for some reason took a month for them to remove the 'for rent' sign outside. again, as soon as I complained, it magically disappeared shortly after.
*I had to fix a broken kitchen drawer myself within the first month myself because they refused to acknowledge the issue which had been present since day 1.
*customer service is woefully slow. if you want to communicate via email, you get whinged at and pushed towards phone calls, which you then get dumped onto hold for and have patchy reception anyway.
*during those phone calls, I'd be told 'this will happen, the landlord is sorting this', but nothing ever happens.
*we've had 3 - soon to be 4 - visits from a contractor with regards to our bath/shower. how it takes this many call outs to repair one tap is beyond me.
*this latest instance of the contractor coming around has now broken the bath tap, no hot water, the seal is leaking, he's caused some damage to the kitchen and even our front door doesn't shut properly due to some equipment he'd had resting against the door for an hour. What does Bridgfords/Countrywide have to say about this? 'You should have pointed it out due avoid another unnecessary visit to the property'. Yeah okay, i'm so sorry for beinga dumb tenant who refused to let the contractor leave until i'd magically detected various issues around the house and bullied him into fixing them. if we'd arranged for this to take place when out of the house anyway, what would this 'Emily' have said to me then, "you should have stayed at home and not gone to work to prevent another home visit". what nonsense. this woman is on another planet. I have filed a formal report against her because she shouldn't be offering her own opinions. for a supposed professional, her entire email was nasty and sneering.
all in all, incredibly useless company. but I will be happy to update my review with positives if they actually prove they can deliver from now on. We shall see...

TrustpilotValuation?? They can't be bothered!
Booked in a valuation with Bridgfords. They called the following morning at 830 which was very efficient. Was advised over the phone that this would take 30 minutes. Had a phone call from the Sale branch on the morning of the appointment. Asked if i intended to put my house up for sale, said it would be dependent on the equity we have in the house. He said the valuation would take and hour and a half and he could send a virtual valuation. It sounded like the guy couldn't be bothered at all. If this is the level of experience you get from someone that is trying to get your business, I would hate to think about the experience you would have selling through this place. Really poor service!

TrustpilotLandlords (and tenants!) - avoid this agent
To use a phrase, Bridgfords / Countrywide are an omnishambles, when it comes to being a landlord's agent.
Landlords - Do yourselves and your tenants a favour and choose a different agent.
You will end up doing just as much work managing Bridgfords (actually Countrywide) as you would managing any issues directly yourself.
Two particular incidents that wound me up were when they charged us for work done by a decorator, which the decorator later admitted was never carried out; and secondly after forgetting to charge a tenant for costs due to them, they charged us instead, after deposit refund - without agreement or notice (money they still refuse to refund).

TrustpilotGot bored of chasing them
Called multiple times to try and get a viewing booked in. Was told multiple times someone would call me back. Got bored of chasing them.
They seemed far more interested in getting me to speak to their mortgage broker, and I hadn’t even viewed any houses with them yet!
I have no idea how they manage to sell any houses. Quite clearly a load of sales people trying to hit targets and not actually that bothered about selling houses.

GoogleMyself and my partner bought our house in 2018, and we used Lee Daffern as our mortgage consultant to help us get a good mortgage in place. We recently also had Lee do our remortgage when our term was up again this year.
We cannot recommend Lee enough! My partner is self employed and we were struggling to secure a mortgage on our own, and Lee handled everything swiftly, and secured us an incredible mortgage.
Not only this, but he talked us through the entire process of buying a house too, ensuring we knew exactly what to do at what time. Further, he broke down for us how best to pay off our mortgage and helped us settle on realistic goals.
I have recommended him to all my friends that are looking to buy a house.

GoogleWe were very pleased with our recent transaction with Bridgfords in Disley. The majority of our dealings were with Stacey Bancroft and Michael Wright who supported us throughout the buying process. Our initial viewing of the property was conducted at a distance of over 250 miles and Mike cheerfully made this happen for us, despite technology letting us down at the last minute! Stacey was always readily available as we moved from our offer being accepted to completion and she still continues to hold keys for us to enable building work to take place. We would have no hesitation in recommending the team at Bridgfords and thank them for all their help.

TrustpilotWell what I can say! SHOCKING SERVICE.
Well what I can say!! After 7 years we have had enough and made the decision to move after countless problems. I am now having to move away from the area I grew up in and also I have to let my pet dog go after all the problems and YES BRIDGFORDS YOU ARE TO BLAME!!!! When we moved into the property it was just about habitable, it should not of been presented in the way it was but we were desperate. Over the years we improved the property ourselves and made it a nice home and we genuinely felt at home. Problems included heating pump problems, shower problems, we were left without a gas hob for 6 weeks, had to live practically off ready meals. Roof leaks, boiler problems which take weeks or even months to resolve. The penultimate decision to move was made when we were left without heating over the Christmas period, the house ended up like an ice box to the extreme causing massive distress to us and our young children, but they just don't care, waiting days and days for quotes to be accepted. Money comes before Health and Safety with these guys and to top it off we are being harassed to arrange viewings for new tenants, absolute joke. Unlucky for them is that I know property law, probably better than them and I have the right to refuse access to them until tenancy agreement ends. No one from the agency has ever been out to inspect the property in 7 years but they are willing to show people around, for they all know the property could be trashed. Absolutely unprofessional, some staff should be nowhere near the business of real estate. I think they think that payment of rent is just for the property, its not you pay rent for a service to which you do not get! DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY FROM BRIDGFORDS. Its just a shame it has come to this but they are to BLAME FOR IT ALL!! SIMPLE. GOOD LUCK TO WHOEVER MOVES IN!!

GoogleRachel has given 5*+ service from start to finish, I have been overseas due to COVID-19 & unable to travel back to the UK, due to Government restrictions.
Rachel took on the unenviable task of dealing with the entire house sale, almost as if she were selling her own house; coordinating all the tasks required to move out, including the actual supervision of the removal of the contents, and every detail related to the transaction.
Rachel kept me informed in a timely & logical manner of everything I needed to do & on many occasions she went above & beyond in her own time, to do things it was impossible for me to do; she also returned all my calls, which built a great rapport.
Rachel has demonstrated that she is willing to go to any lengths and has given me a truly personal service, for which I shall be eternally grateful.
All of it was conducted in a friendly, enthusiastic & extremely competent manner & Rachel must surely win the prize for ‘International Rescue’.

GoogleBought our house through bridgefords in 2020. Ginette was absolutely brilliant, she was so enthusiastic and had all the info about the house to hand, was able to fill us in on life in the village and was accommodating throughout the house buying process organising another viewing for us and getting answers to all our little questions really quickly. She definitely moved the purchase along and let us know when we needed to do something. It's an incredibly stressful process so having someone so friendly really helped get us through it!PositiveResponsiveness

Unfortunately, i read these reviews quite late and I am in agreement with all the negative opinions about Bridgfords Withington. We tried to buy a flat, but when we told them that we have our own mortgage advisor, the communication stopped. When we tried to get updates, they would try to discourage us to continue. They went on making an offer for our maximum budget, despite only having 1 additional buyer who offered 25k less than us. Dishonesty/ lack of transparency and totally unprofessionalism, especially Richard/ Hammad. I am happy I did not use their services, and I now select properties which are not in their portfolio. Quite sure the seller has received a lower offer as well, which is a shame as the flat was superb. Avoid!
