Thank you to Danielle and the team for never giving up with the sale of our recent property. Even through two major shifts in the economic climate they still managed to arrange viewings and provide regular updates. Thank you and all the best

TrustpilotThese agents act like robots
These agents act like robots with no human face. Wanted to move in with a property they are managing. Unfortunately for us, we went ahead and paid for the house.(rent) On the day of collecting keys, I could not make it. I called to beg if they can give keys to the lead tenant who has already moved to the property with her stuff wanting to pick up keys. They refused because I was not there. They left her stranded. I promised to take any responsibility that comes with collecting keys. No buldging. Moreover communicating with them is unusually difficult, hard to pick calls. I wont recommend these kind of insensitive agents

TrustpilotBeyond unprofessional; like a school playground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This estate agent is only interested in acting for the buyer, bending over backwards to help them, despite the fact clearly the seller was paying their fee! They do very little work to earn their commission; in fact less than average. They never answer the phone, it always goes to voicemail, no matter what time of day you telephone. They cancelled 10 block viewings because the buyer who first viewed the property demanded they did; well dodgy, because at the 12th hour, less than 24 hours before completion, Solicitor calls to say we need to sign a new contract as the buyer's name has changed!!!!!! Bridgfords failed on every count, did not keep me updated whatsoever, just constantly put pressure on as to when completion could take place, despite knowing from the outset I had to find another home to live in; demanded a survey after 3 months, despite saying buyer was a cash buyer and did not need one!!! I would not use Bridgfords ever again in any way, shape or form, and no way on God's earth would I recommend them, not even to my worst enemy!

TrustpilotDo not use this company
Do not use this company. We setup a viewing of a property which without any contact they did not attend. Since this time I have been called several times saying that I have requested a viewing of my property which I have never done and have regularly asked for my details to be removed from their database but keep receiving more calls.

TrustpilotI was persuaded to give management of…
I was persuaded to give management of my property to Bridgfords. As Landlord, I would expect from an agent to care for my property as much as I do. However, I did not receive this level of service from Bridgfords.Very poor customer service. One mistake after the other, to start, I was introduced tenants which one of them had a CCJ registered. However, the branch manager persuaded me to accept as they had a solid guarantor.Only 3 months after the tenancy started, rent seized. At first, I was sent an email with updates every week. Rent arrears continued to accumulate, however strangely the more rent was in arrears, the less I was updated with the situation.Due to Bridgfords not chasing the rent anymore, I had no other alternative but to outsource a debt collector, of course at my own cost. Shockingly, debt collection later found that the "solid guarantor" was an 85 year old pensioner which was not in a financial position to pay for the outstanding rent. Also, during our 12 months, Bridgfords was unable to gain access to perform a property inspection, despite myself contacting the tenants and agreeing on a date - however Bridgfords had an excuse for everything. Also, I requested some repairs to be done and they did not bother to find a contractor to do the work. Again giving me excuses that "the tenants are not responsive etc..." which is not true.I am now left alone dealing with disrepairs, a possession hearing, thousands of pounds in rent arrears and an estate agency that had decided to quit management rather than find solutions.I can not express my frustration, stress and a feeling that they simply did not care are the minimum about my property. This to me was unacceptable, if I were you I would think twice before giving your property to them.

I cannot recommend this agent. I let out a property via them for several years and would have left earlier but felt stuck with them when COVID hit.

GoogleSimply a fabulous team, extremely professional and friendly. As a seller they made sure all my requirements were taken on board and worked hard to achieve my objectives. They are the best estate agents I have dealt with in many years. Would not choose any other agents in future and highly recommend them.

TrustpilotUnhelpful, unfair and unethical
Unhelpful, unfair and unethical. Genuinely the worst letting experience and service I have ever received. I would avoid at all cost going forward. Numerous serve issues when starting my tenancy, meant I couldn't move into the property. This was meet by no acknowledgment from there side and no help to fix it.

TrustpilotOne star is being generous.
One star is being generous.Listen folks, this company is crooked, yet they still manage to stay within the law I was looking to rent a property. Saw a nice place and decided to act fast. Never heard of Bridgfords so no reason to suspect any hanky panky.Filled in the application which was emailed via docusign by a very friendly helpful lady (or so I thought.. Sent straight back and waited for reply.Saw no reason to read the small print.Immediately sent another set of documents "Keysafe" which actually said you should let them know of any adverse credit. (we had a default from some time ago) so we ticked the box and paid the £219 holding deposit.Long and short of it, they came back and said the rental could not go ahead and they would be keeping the holding deposit because we had not disclosed adverse credit before signing docusign, not "Keysafe".Beware folks, they make their money by taking deposits and not making it clear at what stage of the process you must declare your status.Do not deal with these people , personally, I should have read the reviews on here first, if you are reading this then it is likely you made the same mistake as me and never read the reviews . Spread the word, these people are bandits.

TrustpilotScam company. Will charge you for fake cleans...
Moved into a property which was uninhabitable it was so unclean. Told by the staff member we could wait for bridgfords to organise someone or pay for it ourselves. At the end of the tenancy we cleaned the property top to bottom and were charged £150 for the oven cleaning. Turns out the cleaning company is ran and owned by a manger at Bridgfords and they didn't even do the clean. We have spoken to the new tenants and they have told us they also had to pay for the oven cleaning. Scam company and a fraudulent cleaning company all in one. Avoid at all costs. Trading standards have been informed.

We were blown away with the expertise and professionalism Sue and the staff from Bridgfords provided on the sale of my late father's home. The difference between them and our previous agent has been remarkable! We also appreciated the sensitivity shown to us during the sales process, this was a difficult time for us selling our Dad's home, and the care provided didn't go unnoticed.I will be referring anyone I know to them as they do a fantastic job!

TrustpilotFees when taking the house off the market
I put my house on the market with Bridgefords six weeks ago and in that time period we have only had four viewings and we've had to chase Bridgefords for feedback. They are very poor at responding to emails and phone messages. I've noticed that a number of other houses in the area have come up for sale and sold in that time period. Mainly by one local estate agent. We've decided to swap to this estate agent and take our house off the market with Bridgefords. When I've tried to do this, it's taken me two days of emailing and ringing to get a response! Then when I finally did I was told that if I take my house off the market with Bridgefords and go to another estate agents we will be liable to pay Bridgefords fees even if the other estate agents sell the house!! None of this mentioned when we put the house up for sale with them! They also said when I entered into a contract with them this was for a minimum of 26 week's. I know this was definitely not mentioned as I've been unsure about selling and the estate agent advised me to put the house up for sale for a month and if I change my mind to just take it off the market.I wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

TrustpilotWorst experience ever with a letting agency!
TL/DR;So far if I could give zero stars I would give them but I will give 1 instead because some of the people working there are honestly nice. However,.... My self and my partner we started renting a house run by Bridgfords Letting Agents since last Monday 14/02/22. First, the images shown in the advert with what we actually got are two different stories, we also did our viewing online (due to working schedules restrictions) and apparently it was a MASSIVE MISTAKE because we obviously got scammed. When we moved in the house was in a state of filthy mess, the previous tenants didn't clean, the house has pilled up years of filth, dust, dirt. The otherwise advertised as ''new'' carpets had stamps and spots all over and I am waiting to see if there are also carpet beetles after finding one yesterday. We had a week to report things against the agency's inventory, which we did. Of course we reported the mess and filthiness and we were PROMISED some actions to be taken until yesterday, and in our last phone call with them they said that they are still working on our cases but it is stack between the previous tenants, landlord and a third party (which I am guessing is the deposit scheme). What we are asking is for someone to deep clean the house and get rid of the years of filth and what we get in response is that the landlord is awaiting to take the deposit back from the previous tenants to fix it? What kind of logic is this? Why are we put in the same basket with the old tenants?Time to mention that the house is also a junkyard, old forgotten devices mounted on walls, archaic light shades and a set of curtains that are reeking and are the dirtiest piece of cloth I have seen in my life. There are wires exposed, the part furnished devices I don't know when they have passed last their safety test. So the situation I am describing is this and we are asked in good willing and hope to wait for a response and not start cleaning imediately? Of course we started cleaning, because this is bordeline health and safety case, we bring with us our new furniture and we don't want to land in a house that is dirty. So I am asking, what would the agency have achieved with us waiting?Because obviously our requested has been thrown in the bin.Who tells me that we are not doing the job the agency should have done, and now they use our photographyic evidence to strip the deposit from the previous tenants?Because their photographic inventory report was lacking big time. So either they were covering the real problems so they arise later and blame them on us or the person who did the inventory is stupid. In any case, whatever they do favours the landlord, everything they do is to keep THEM safe, because their fee comes from THEM, not from two humble invidividuals who rent a property from the agency. But the hard truth, dear agency, is that YOU are the mediator and customer satisfaction comes from two different parties. You have failed to play this game when you chose one over the other. And no matter how hard I tried to keep myself from writing a review, it's been a week that I am stressing for something I shouldn't, and because I want this review to be out there for you to see that some things are serious.I am sure some people who are dealing with our case tried their best but if they were me you would have done the same and making this public. Can I ask in which redress scheme this agency belongs to so I can make an official complain to them as well?

TrustpilotThis letting agency is a disgrace.
This letting agency is a disgrace. We rented a property and upon moving in the property had clearly not been professionally cleaned as it stated, it was uninhabitable and absolutely disgusting. We had to pay £180 for someone to come out to professionally clean all the carpets, sofa and oven as they were unusable because of how filthy they were. The bed frame was smashed to bits and completely unusable, the mattress so yellow and smelled so bad we had to throw it outside. The check in inventory said everything was in 'good condition' which it was clearly not! On advise from a staff member we wrote notes on every page of our check in inventory about the details when we moved in.Upon moving out of this property they are now trying to charge £150 worth for 'cleaning' when we left the property in an improved state than when we moved in.Communication has been extremely poor and I am highly disappointed with this company, disgusting service and I will be taking them to court over the return of our deposit as it has been two months since we moved out. Do not rent from this letting agent!

TrustpilotCaused damage to my property.. crooks. AVOID
Please read the negative reviews and DO NOT use this estate agents. Since starting the sale process of my property with bridgfords there has been little to no communication until the last 2 weeks when I made a complaint. They erected a sign outside my home, attaching it to the brickwork without my knowledge or permission. The sign was not properly fixed to my home and it fell onto my car causing damage. Bridgfords call this a ‘natural disaster’ completely shirking any responsibility. If moving house wasn’t stressful enough I now have to submit an application to small claims court against them to recover the costs of my damaged car. There’s good reason for the volume of negative reviews for this company and I wish I had done more research before choosing bridgfords. Avoid at all costs & find a reliable and cheaper estate agent. I recommend strike, they’re the cheapest and best to deal with.

Terrible service cannot recommend them any less for their york branch. Terrible to deal with, no interest in helping tenants who have been locked out of their building. Had to stay with friends for several nights and they still haven’t helped us. Utterly ridiculous will be taking this complaint further and claiming rent back as this is insane. AVOID AVOID AVOID even if there are no other properties because of the housing crisis I recommend avoiding them and waiting for somewhere else half decent. I would leave 0 stars 1 is far too generous
