GoogleA fantastic and friendly team at Potter & Ford Estate Agents who performed exceptionally well during a somewhat demanding purchase. They guided me through the entire buying process with patience, professionalism, and efficiency. The team were always quick to respond and proactive in getting tasks completed.
Selling, buying, and renting out a property can be incredibly stressful, but the Potter & Ford team exceeded my expectations across the board. They not only sold me a property but also rented one out on my behalf, which they now manage. Their support made what could have been a complex experience feel much smoother and more manageable.
I can honestly say I would highly recommend

GooglePotter and Ford have been nothing but amazing during our selling and buying experience.
This is the second time we have sold with Richard, Nikki and the team. (We have previously bought through them as well).
Buying and selling can be so stressful but we really felt well looked after with Potter and Ford. We were always kept up to date with any and all progress.
No query our end was too small. Communication was excellent. We were on the books for 2 weeks when the offers rolled in. They had plenty of viewings lined up and seem to have a wealth of potential buyers on their books.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars because they genuinely deserve it. If we ever sell again, we won't hesitate to use Potter and Ford.

GoogleI cannot recommend this professional and caring team highly enough to anyone buying/selling a property nearby.
Richard and Nikki were always creative, communicative and reassuring and I was so happy with the support they gave us right through the process. Their efficient office team made booking and managing bookings so easy. And of course the results were great!
We're now in a dream home that we didn't expect to get. We're so happy with our choice of agent.

GoogleWell Richard needs stop treating and talking to Customers like kids and stop as if some top dog and we are his peasant. Then you expect me to take that he has no right to talk.to anyone like that. I can write the truth on this review do people can see what sort of service you provided me. If you don't like hearing the truth and letting people see the truth then I suggest either you change your business or improve your customer service dramatically. I dont need your company to buy a house I rather go to a company that has good customer service which there are plenty of. I've had over 20 years in the customer service industry I'm more than happy to teach you and your team what good looks like.
Poor service. Richard is not qualified to be an agent let alone Director! What a joke! Unprofessional. The company is base on liars and cheats. Stay away from this joke shop. Nothing but fools working here!NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

Dear Rakesh
Sorry to see this review, we have looked into this for you, the property that you viewed last week and called about yesterday has been very popular. We have been handling a few offers from last week and the weekend, the property went under offer early this week. We had called all recent viewers but we/the owner had to make a decision on offers that had come in.
I'm sorry if we didn't get hold of you and you feel that you did not have the opportunity to offer, it has been a very busy property market. If you are keen on a property we suggest that you let any agent know as soon as possible after you view.
Agents may not have the time to call people serval times, before making a decision with the owners, there are a lots of buyers in good positions wanting a quick decision on their offers.
We wish you good luck with your property search - but if you have the attitude with which you spoke to Richard on the phone and shown in your rather rude review, many agents and owners would probably not want to deal with you, so smile be nice and someone might sell you a house.
Best Regards

Very disappointed with Kirsty Locke who works for Potter & Ford a company who had a good reputation, Kirsty who works as a letting negotiator
Kirsty is an absolute liar because she said you would not lose your deposit and now Potter & Ford are refusing to re pay the deposit of £253.84. This lady who paid the deposit is struggling anyway a single mother with two children SHAME on Potter & Ford, I’m absolutely disgusted with them now as they have confirmed Potter & will not repay the deposit fee back.
My suggestion is to avoid Potter & Ford at all cost, if you’re buying or selling or letting.

Truly terrible experience of both Potter and Ford and the landlords of the property I rented via them: Mr Rodney and Merrilee Culverhouse of Two Dells Lane, Ashley Green, Buckinghamshire.

We were treated to rude, ill-mannered behaviour by a female member of the letting staff at Potter and Ford. We had gone to great lengths to return the property to the level of cleanliness that greeted us 3 years ago, in many respects we surpassed it, I believe. We had arranged to meet the member of staff on site at a prescribed time to conduct a survey of the house with them. When my wife arrived she was informed, brusquely, that the survey had already been conducted, she demanded my wife surrender her key, and effectively, clear off.

If you are a tenant looking for a house to stay in. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Christine Foskett is the most unhelpful and petty estate agent I know! No one should suffer from how this company treated us! Avoid this company

Dear Asrar
So sorry you feel this way, I have looked into this matter and I feel the above is very harsh having reviewed the full situation with my lettings team, Kirsty is a very contentious and professional, she really works hard to help potential tenants. We make it very clear to potential tenants that if they fail referencing they will sacrifice the deposit as there are costs incurred for us for this process, a CCJ was not disclosed to us as a result the referencing failed, we would not have taken the deposit if this was made clear at the beginning of the process.
The terms of the deposit were emailed (before the deposit was taken) and signed receipt of this was made by your daughter so she was fully aware that the deposit may be sacrificed if referencing failed.
We do hope she has managed to secure a suitable property and advise to be as upfront as possible to avoid failing referencing as most companies will adopt the same policy.

GoogleTruly terrible experience of both Potter and Ford and the landlords of the property I rented via them: Mr Rodney and Merrilee Culverhouse of Two Dells Lane, Ashley Green, Buckinghamshire.
When I initially looked at the property, I was told that the house would be being redecorated in full, and that the white goods would be replaced. I was then told that the landlord was not willing to rent it to me without giving a reason why. Potter and Ford then retracted this saying that they would rent it to me but that I would have to provide my own white goods, and so I arranged for that to happen and moved in.
When I moved in I realised that the redecoration that had been promised did not happen, there were many stains over the carpets on two floors of the property, as well as damaged paintwork throughout, and the property still smelt of stale smoke. I was disappointed that what had been promised was not delivered, but what was more of a problem for me was realising that the shower did not work in either water pressure or heat control. I notified Potter and Ford of this immediately, within the first 24 hours of moving in, and said that I would need to move out of the property if this was not resolved.
It took Potter and Ford the best part of three whole weeks, of me living in a property without a fully functioning shower, to offer the resolve of either me paying to fit an electric shower, something that I don’t think I should have had to pay for as a temporary tenant, or them replacing the boiler system, something that with further advice I came to realise was a lengthy and disruptive process where I would not have had a working shower for some months and would have been continuing to pay rent during that time. At one point they also offered for me to move out but asked for over £1.5 thousand pounds to do that, which is of course laughable!
I decided to move out, gave a confirmed notice of me planning to do this, and handed back the keys on Sunday the 28th of July. I asked Potter and Ford repeatedly how to reclaim my deposit back, to which I received no reply at all. When I found out how to do this myself I realised that they lied on their claim for my deposit, claiming for £200 ‘furniture removal’ of some furniture and the white goods that I had been asked to provide for myself for the property. I then happily arranged for a free collection of all of this to be taken by the British Heart Foundation so that the furniture and white goods could then be of benefit to a charity. They rejected that offer, continued to argue for me to pay for the furniture removal and tried to argue for a month of rent that I was not living in the property for, even though they already had a new tenant living in the property within that same month. They also stated that my moved out date was the 8th of August, which was also a blatant lie. If that had been my actual move out date then for the ten days prior, until Sunday 28th of July when I actually moved out then they were ignoring my emails as a tenant of theirs.
Thankfully the Deposit Protection Agency ended up agreeing with me and I was awarded over £400 of my deposit back, but they retained over £300 for these apparent furniture removal charges - even though P&F rejected a free furniture removal service for charity, and they still have my white goods in use at the property - and for the days between my move out on the 28th of July and the 8th of August, even though it was a lie on their behalf of that being my move out date!
I highly recommend avoiding Potter and Ford, and think that the decision making of both P&F and Rodney and Merrillee Culverhouse is not only irresponsible as landlords and estate agents on a professional level, but is actually unethical on a moral level too. It was a stressful, expensive and time consuming experience, and given that the white goods that they charged me to have removed and refused a free removal of to charity are still in the property - they have effectively stolen money from me and from charity too. A truly terrible experience, beware !

Potter and Ford are disappointed to see this review, especially as 99.9% of it is simply not true.
Before asking to rent the property, Mairi viewed it exactly as it was, a lovely old listed cottage with wooden beams etc. but, as with lots of very old cottages, there was no stand up shower. It was not advertised as having a shower just the attachment, nor did she ask for a shower or say it was an essential before she signed a contract, we had not received any complaints about it from the previous tenant. However the complaints began almost immediately after she moved in.
The landlord was great and offered her lots of different options but none were good enough for her. He even offered to have a gas supply installed to the property and a brand new central heating system (and shower) installed for her, but still not good enough. Due to age of the property and current set up it was not a simple task, 2 contractors visited to try and improve the current set up and give their opinions on the best way to get a better shower installed.
Although she signed a 12 month agreement, with a 6 month break clause, she wanted to leave after just a couple weeks and although the landlord didn’t have to release her from the agreement he was willing to do so if she just paid one month’s rent and the deposit to cover a notice period and his re-marketing costs. She refused. We then offered her different options, but she refused. All we could do is let the Deposit Protection service sort it out, in the end she left her furniture for us/landlord to remove ... and just walked out.
We have hundreds of very happy and satisfied tenants and landlords. Unfortunately there are some people that cannot be pleased, the landlord went above and beyond what others would. It was over a month after Mairi left that a new tenant moved in, the new tenant has been in for a few weeks now and no complaints thus far.

GoogleI am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent service experience I’ve had since Houses Shaw took over Potter and Ford. From my perspective, there appears to be a lack of understanding or capability in handling the commercial side of the business effectively.
Unfortunately, communication has been very poor. My calls and emails have gone unanswered, which gives the impression that my time and potential business are not valued. As a result, I am seriously reconsidering my engagement with your services.
I believe this is a critical area that needs urgent attention. Poor customer service can quickly erode trust and lead to a loss of potential clients like myself.
I would be happy to discuss this feedback further with a director or member of senior management if that would be helpful in improving service standards moving forward.

GoogleAs a buyer, it is sometimes very difficult to liaise with estate agents knowing full well that they act for the seller and not the buyer. We were pleasantly surprised when we started working with Richard on the purchase of our new home at how transparent he tried to be at each stage. He regularly kept us updated on developments and helped to move things along with the vendors and solicitors as much as he could which was extremely helpful on what turned out to be a rather protracted negotiation and purchase. Richard clearly has a genuine love for the area and this is clear in the knowledge he shared on local schools and other amenities. Thank you Richard for helping us to get this over the line.
