We were first-time buyers and completed the purchase of our first house in 3.5 months (including two weeks of Christmas office closures) for a small-ish chain. Josh Simpson was very helpful and helped us all along with the hellish process of buying a house. Diana was also always available to move the process along. Although I did not end up going with Dylan for our mortgage application, our initial consultation with him was very helpful to understand our affordability. He offered us the best products that were available on the market. There was a ~2-week delay in getting the memorandum of sale issued, but all in all, a great team in Banbury.

After several months wasted trying to rent our property with another estate agent, I turned to Bairstow Eves and I had a totally different experience, suddenly my calls were being answered, viewings went up and we received constant feedback. I had a great experience with Bairstow Eves during the purchase of my flat. Josh was extremely helpful and guided me through the whole process with professionalism and patience. Diana was also wonderful, very kind and supportive whenever I needed assistance with communication with previous owner or doesn’t matter how many times I wanted to checkout the property - she was always there and ready to help. I also used a mortgage broker recommended by them, Dylan, who was super fast with sorting out my mortgage offer, sincere and helpful with choosing the right types of insurance needed. Poor quality viewings and service

The Clapham branch sales negotiator was late for the viewing and didn’t ask anyone from the office to notify us (15 minutes late). He had also double booked the appointment, the entire booking was a bit of a disorganised mess. There was a fair bit he wasn’t aware of and generally wasn’t that helpful. The specifications I gave weren’t followed in the viewings. I was ignored when asked if I wanted a broker and my contact information was shared when I had asked for it not to.

Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service, they come across very professional when they value the house, but once its on the market the staff are unhelpful and take days to answer emails. The details were incorrect online as it was put live without us agreeing the details, the pictures were awful and the one thing we did make them change. There has been no effort to sell the house, only having one viewer in two months. Only to find out that the contract is for 4 months too, devastated. Stay away from this company.

I could have not chosen better agency than Bairstow Eves Banbury. Previously my house was on the market with different Estate Agent and had no traffic at all for 6 months. Going with Bairstow Eves was a game changer. From the initial call with Tony who was very friendly and professional to meeting Josh. From the seconds we met Josh we knew we were in very good hands, well prepared, professional, but at the same time he will tell you how it is rather than what you want to hear which is very important when you sell the house, and you have certain expectations. We had 6 viewing within a week. I'm aware that price drop was a factor but commitment and marketing from Josh and Olivia were a driving force here. Within 10 days we had an offer. Despite Josh's busy schedule he always found time to call me with an update as well as speaking to our buyer. Special mention to Olivia here as well. Always very polite and responsive to my calls or emails. I'm aware I was not the easiest person to deal with and as inexperienced seller I was very impatient. But nothing was ever too much trouble for Josh or Olivia. I cannot thank you enough for your hard work. Any call, email or request was always responded efficiently. DO NOT TRUST BAIRSTOW EVES, Property Rented Without a Valid Licence

I am writing this to warn other families. My family and I have experienced nothing but stress and chaos since renting a property through Bairstow in May 2026.After moving in, we discovered to our horror that the property was let without a valid property licence. When we raised this serious legal issue, the agency completely absolved themselves of responsibility, blaming the landlord. Under UK housing law, letting agents have a strict legal duty to verify and ensure proper licensing is in place before letting a property.The customer service at this branch is shockingly unprofessional. Particular staff members, Mehmet, Rejaul, and Exene, are completely evasive. They take weeks to respond to emails and refuse to answer the phone. On the rare occasion we do manage to speak to them over the phone, they make empty promises to send over details, only to go completely silent and ignore all subsequent emails.Avoid Bairstow at all costs if you value your peace of mind and legal safety. They take your money and completely abandon their legal obligations.

As first time buyers, we were extremely unsure and intimated of the process of buying our first house but when inquiring about a viewing we were offered a free meeting with a mortgage advisor to help talk us through it all. Curtis was invaluable to us from the very beginning. He explained everything so clearly and no question was silly to him. Our purchase had some complications which we wouldn’t have been able to overcome if it weren’t for Curtis. He went above and beyond and I truly don’t think we could have completed the process if we hadn’t had his help. We would recommend Curtis to anyone - first time buyers or not - as he made the stressful process so much easier and was incredibly friendly also. The rest of the staff are also amazing and helpful - Tony took time to talk us through our survey when we had concerns which really made us feel at ease and understand everything better.
