Swamp for a garden!!!!

Would give no stars if I possibly could! Bovis Homes are an absolute disgrace & should be held to account & investigated. Once they have your money they have no interest whatsoever in rectifying problems with your new build...three years down the line, despite numerous complaints & even a NHBC claim I still have a garden Shrek would be more at home in as it resembles what can only be described as a swamp! Still battling to get this sorted now which is a very stressful & time consuming experience. Avoid Bovis Homes at all costs!!!!

Bovis - a disgrace from top to bottom!

Well I can only agree with most of the posts on here. Bought a Bovis home, moved in 17/12/19. Several issues later, and an e mail to the CEO, we are still no further forward! I received a survey, and duly completed it. I receive an e mail from Lorraine Farrow, Eastern Area sales manager, chastising me for giving BOVIS, and my home, a very low score!Notwithstanding that e mail has been sent to Greg Fitzgerald the CEO too. You probably won’t be surprised to hear my case is now in the hands of one Paul Moran, a Director. And guess what, after being informed of a response within five working days - nothing!I have also sent them an invoice I have, and I have paid, to have put right what Bovis couldn’t get right in the first place. You guessed it, not even a response! Watch this space. A more incompetent company will be difficult to find!

Bought a £480,000 house

Bought a £480,000 house. Sales process went well. Then the issues started... Creaking floors. Hot water had no thermostat fitted. Garage door frames collapsed. Fascia fell off, hitting me. Culmination of issues was a flood destroying half the downstairs due to hot water pipe not being fitted. Four months later, issues still not fixed. Complaint escalated to director level (Sandra Washbrook) who assured me all items would be fixed within 28 days. Strangely enough, they weren't. Said they'd sent a cheque - they hadn't. Said they'd told their insurance company - they hadn't. I don't know whether they are dishonest or incompetent.Genuinely the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

DO NOT USE BOVIS HOMES!!!!They were AMAZING before I paid but on moving day they refused to give me the keys before 5pm despite telling me on the phone (recorded call as well) that I could have them at 1pm as a "good will gesture". The sales agent made my partner cry on our moving day as well because of how rude she was AND they simply do not care about customers once you have paid. This company are tragic and its no wonder they lost millions due to a fine for misselling. We have countless examples of things we were promised by sales that simply weren't true and have never come to fruition. Bovis Homes need investigating as the sale methods and aftersales process are criminal.

BAN BOVIS BUILDS

1 star is generous, Bovis deserve 0. This housing developer couldn’t care less about anything other than taking your initial money. The site managers do nothing but lie if you’re able to actually meet one, they’re always unavailable when you arrive on site. The customer care team at Bovis are equally as bad. 40+ plus phone calls, complaints and escalation after escalation but months later you still won’t have a reply. They leave areas they’re building in an absolute mess, nails and broken objects constantly on the floor. Expect a punctured tyre once a month at an expense to yourself. Bovis and site developers constantly pass blame between each other, therefore eliminating who the onus lies with. Awful company and shoddier new builds. If you purchase a house with Bovis add an additional few years to your expected completion date and don’t expect an employee to return any type of query you may have. If they are subject to a license they should have theirs revoked. BAN BOVIS BUILDS

Nearly two years on and we are still…

Nearly two years on and we are still having problems. Customer Services don't have the authority to rectify anything. I accept some snags but our list is ongoing and when repairs are scheduled they either don't turn up or ignore any warnings e.g please don't open the locked gate and leave it wide open for our not very sociable dog to escape. Please don't cover our windows up for over a week so we can't see outI could go on and onWould never buy a BOVIS home again,

Don’t buy Bovis Homes

We moved into our home in Pebble Beach, Seaton just over a year ago. We were promised our rosd would be sorted soon after we moved in and all snags done asap. We provided access for trades but although we have contacted customer care on several occasions, we now only ever receive their automated response. Their customer care is totally non existent. They take your money, promise the earth but deliver on nothing. Their focus is on throwing houses up as quickly as possible. Avoid Bovis and avoid Pebble Beach, its all bull

Very badly built homes

Very badly built homes. Cardboard boxes. I had to have my lawn laid twice as it was flooding on one side. No one took responsibility and I had to have it dug up again. Ended up with fake lawn which sounds crispy when I walk on the side with poor drainage. I spent so many days and nights upset. I would never buy from Bovis again. I can not recommend BOVIS. BUYER BEWARE.

Bovis are not listening

We bought our house in Bramble Chase Honeybourne in June 2016. The house wasn’t finished and there were over 240 snagging issues. Some of them quite major. We have had to battle every step of the way. 30 months on there are still outstanding items despite involving NHBC. I have allowed access to my house over 120 times and been available on other occasions where people haven’t bothered to turn up. I’ve had 3 major gas leaks despite having gas safe certificates and have been offered a derisory £1500 compensation for the stress and hassle of the my experience. I’ve had customer care accuse me of refusing access and generally being unresponsive to my requests. I will NEVER by another Bovis home

Bumbling Bovis Build Quality

I purchased a four bed Bovis home in May 2017. From day 1 we have had problems here they are...shared toilet coming away from wall (removed 3 times to reinforce the wall to support the toilet). One occasion flooding the downstairs loo because it wasnt done right upstairs. Decorating standards poor. 22 defects on the render of the house still to be sorted promised to be done spring 2019!.(we will see), ensuite toilet loo off the wall 2 times to support the loo (third time due for repair Jan 2019). Holes in wall patched over with paper then painted over. Render beading cut too short over windows. Lead flashing to short and bodged to extend. Whole house outside has to be painted once the render repairs are done so that the colour matches. Kitchen fitters due January 2019 to raise half the kitchen as its not level. Have had to wait nearly 2 years and only getting it done as my patience finally went as they weren't going to do it. Customer service is non existent. No-one knows what the other is doing . Build quality is pathetic. Contractors are not bothered and take no pride in the work. Who should be held accountable...site managers firstly. The should be keeping a tight leash on contractors, then the building inspectors who allow crap to be passed off. All they are interested in are the £7,000 plus bonus they get if they meet targets. Would i buy a new build again.........NEVER

BOVIS BOGUS Homes

I am trying to sell so, BOVIS homes are wonderfully crafted by skilled artisans who are attentive to every detail. The Customer service is brilliant answering questions intelligently and quickly responding to the needs of the customer to ensure BOGUS home ownership is delightful.But the reality really is different.I Purchased house and moved in OK. we seemed to be lucky and didn't have the problems some of my neigbours were experiencing until a pipe under the bath separated for some reason. Maybe the electrical insulation tape that was used to jamb the pipes together could not hold on anymore...But according BOGUS this is OK and it is not a fault because it didn't fail within 2 years, and it wasn't raised in the snagging list (maybe because it was hidden behind the bath panel). BOGUS,BOVIS said claim against my home insurance who will then be able to make good the poor workmanship of their incompetent contractor.; and make good the damage caused by their handiwork.In conclusion BOGUS homes cannot be trusted to build houses and their customer service stinks.I have purchased and lived in 5 NEW homes during my life and this is the worst by a country mile. the house is now in good condition because I have put right the crappy work done by BOGUS.

Pretty much the same issues as all the…

Pretty much the same issues as all the other bad reviews on here. When reporting plumbing issue when first moved in, was accused by sales staff of having a bad attitude. Had many problems with my house, the snags don't really bother me but the sink and bath blocks all the time with what looks like sewage. My boiler broke down this morning so don't have heating or hot water. Reported to Bovis, told they would sort out but still (23 hours later) I haven't heard anything. Just feel totally gutted and feel like crying. I'll keep going until it gets sorted or until it kills me ! Thanks Bovis.

Well its been a long 2 years of problems

Well its been a long 2 years of nothing but problems with our new home. Lets be honest Bovis Homes have some great designs in wonderful locations and this is what attracted us to the company in the first place along with the fact the price was right with a lot of extras thrown in. The initial experience of sales was great but when we moved in and the first two weeks were out of the way we were handed over to Bovis customer service in Exeter. They are awful, poor communication if any at all, they would not accept the professional snagging company report at first but finally agreed to look at it properly. workman would turn up without appointments to carry out work that was not agreed and finally I even managed to get to speak to the regional executive manager who promised the earth and delivered very little mainly because even he could not get his team to come and agree a works schedule. Well now our 2 year warranty is over and we had to get the NHBC involved, house is finally livable but the last 2 years has been nothing but hell having to deal with Bovis and there incompetent staff and systems. We were moved out of our home twice for a week each time to fix the ceilings in the lower floor only to find out that they had changed the design of the house and not put rafters in at 400cm gaps but rather 600cm gaps which means the they have had to come back and brace the ceiling jousts. Would I recommend them to any one else, absolutely not, that is until they sort there systems and staff behaviours out because it could of been so much better if they'd just done the job right in the first place.

My partner and I have had the most incredible experience with Bovis in Brockworth, Gloucester. From the sales and advice team to the site managers, it has been the most flawless experience we could have ever hoped for. The house had very minimal snags, and anything that was noticed was dealt with very quickly and with such ease. We truly could not be happier and are extremely grateful to Colin in sales and Matt on site who have made us feel so valued - no amount of effort was ever too much for them and we are beaming with joy and gratitude as a result. Been in for almost a year. Two weeks ago snagging started and now they are arguing about what is to be done. Site Manager full of it. What he wasn't going to do! Bovis have now referred us to the NHBC to get things rectified - they have no shame. Never sign it off until everything done.Do not buy from them ever. We still don't even have a correct street sign and just to cap it all the field that we overlook is now going to be developed with 100 houses.

Started so well but now you get no response

The selling piece was positive - much better than other builders and when I first moved in they were great. As I was moving in on my own they even put up the curtain poles for me and helped me carry heavy furniture that I couldn't manage on my own. Unfortunately a year later though the snags aren't done including missing tiles off the roof. Despite ringing and emailing several times they ignore you. Such a shame as it started so impressively.

House Builders from Hell

I am reluctant to even give them 1 star. I purchased a house from them 2 years ago and it has been the worst experience. They are rude, lazy, nothing is even completed to a high enough or even good standard. It's a real bodge job with these homes. The houses are so tightly packed in you can hear people sneeze 4 houses away which helps even less because the poor quality windows. The gardens are terrible with turf that never grows and the floorboards aren't even down properly. Aside from all of that you can't even attempt to enjoy your house because they haven't cleared off site yet even 2 years on. They do 2 hours of work then go home.

Horrendous - please don’t be conned by the well rehearsed sales pitch. Purchased 4 bedroom home at Semele Park in December 2016 and still waiting for snags to be repaired. Bovis simply do not care for their customers following exchange of contracts. I have repeatedly emailed Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald only to get the same response of a delegated authority for members of his team to resolve my issues - to no avail! I have been repeatedly ignored, fobbed off and even threatened by Bovis employees - utterly deplorable!

Good value, but be warned on telecomms situation.

Overall my new Bovis home is built to a good spec. There are minor niggles, as one would expect, but they've been excellent in dealing with issues promptly once reported. I suppose the main concerns are the troubles that goes with living on a building site - they could do a lot more to improve access, condition of the roads, and dust - and the illegal monopoly on telecomms access. There are better builders perhaps, but I feel like I've got good value for money.

Con artists never buy from bovis

I would give bovis no stars if I could, they sold the house I put a deposit on to someone else and did not let me know or my solicitor know with no refund of deposit and flooring money, we where ready to exchange and my solicitor only found out 3 months later causing me to lose the house my buyer to be homeless looks like I had a lucky escape reading the reviews from other buyers. DO NOT BUY FROM BOVIS.

Absolutely Abysmal

Absolutely abysmal following purchase of the property 5 years ago. Many snagging issues took multiple visits to resolve and uncovered cheap substitute materials as a cause. Landscape gardeners that appear 5 years late and in multiple ways damage the landscape they are supposed to be enhancing.Roads still not adopted and tarmaced 5 years on due to disagreements with United utilities (local water company). The senior management including Roger Bebbington couldn’t care less.

Terrible aftercare service

The Bovis experience actually didn't start too badly for us, however a year after moving in to our property we have discovered issues with the quality of the workmanship on the roof, leading to water flowing down every wall. The customer care team are very good at apologizing, but unfortunately not at rectifying the problem, responding to voicemails or calling us back whenever they promise that they'll get on it straight away. 3 months after reporting the issue we have received a roofers report that falsifies the issue (having had an independent third party look at the problem) in order to avoid conducting a proper repair. Still fighting to resolve the problem before it causes further damage.Terrible aftercare service - suggest you avoid or brace yourself for a bumpy ride!
