It had been so effortless which is exactly what I required and tenants were found within a week.Thank you for going over and beyond Kelly nothing was ever too much effort for you, a true credit to the company and gold star service. TrustpilotResidential Lettings service apalling
We used Connells letting service to save us time for a considerably large fee. Not only was the tenant very disappointed with their service but Connells asked us for the names of contractors and in one case asked us to organise the service that we had paid them to provide. We never had the same person dealing with anything and even when we dismissed them we had to resort to their complaints process to partially resolve the issue. Steer well clear is my advice as you will pay for a service that you not receive. Never again.

Dealing with Connells has been an absolute nightmare. They are painfully slow to respond, regularly ignored my emails, and never pushed the buyers for updates. It felt like we were doing all the chasing while they just sat back.

TrustpilotConnells North St Bristol
Connells North St Bristol Speaking as a landlord I would not use this particular branch of Connells again. While getting some properties valued recently the agent and I got chatting,I explained I had a difficult tenant and due to my age I was thinking of handing my residential portfolio over to a property management company. He advised me to use his team (only one person at this particular branch) and me being keen for an easy life contacted Beth. While I should stress that the team I spoke to in her absence (kingswood branch) came across as wanting to help me and also very professional as was the sales team at this branch,I can honestly say I don’t feel the same way about Beth. I felt like she was under the impression she was me a favour rather than charging me 11% something she actually did say is I’m dealing with the tenant for free despite me telling her to bill me for it. The whole point of me letting her deal with this particularly tenant was to see if she would be capable of looking after my portfolio. I personally feel this would be something she would not be capable of doing.

TrustpilotLeft alone to deal with a tenant who doesn’t want to leave after being served with a notice.
I directed Connells that I needed my property back and they advised the customer of my instructions. They told me the customer has to save the notice period, which is about a month and a half. As I’m writing this review, Almost 6 months later, the tenant still hasn’t left the property. There hasn’t been any updates from Connells regarding the eviction notice. They left me to deal with the tenant (which hasn’t been easy) although THEY ARE STILL COLLECTING MONTHLY FEES from this property. I have now decided to go the legal route…will update in due course

GoogleSo I found a flat on rightmove the beginning of January decided to contact connells to book a viewing, got booked in for the viewing within 2 days of my request as it was late on Saturday. Vewied the property and decided to put in a offer the next day, the very same day I got the reply that I was accepted. From then on it all went so quickly and smoothly. I was all ready to move in on 31st january. The whole process was amazing I was so nervous as this was the first time I had ever done anything like this before. I've had non stop help and support from Daniel and Leanne from the first day I enquired to this very day now I'm in contact with them. I have had numerous amounts of visits to branch phone calls and emails with silly little questions. I wasnt made to feel stupid about anything they both went out of their way to help me with every single thing I've needed. Daniel and Leanne are truly amazing people and are amazing at their jobs I dont think they get enough recognition for what they do. They go above and beyond to do what's best for you , you can really see that they care about you. I would highly reccomend anyone wanting help finding a property to rent to go in connells and ask for leanne or daniel you wont be disappointed. Thank you so much both of you what you have done for me is just amazing I cant thank you enough for all your help :)

TrustpilotWhen is an auction not an auction - seller beware
Seller beware of signing up to the Modern Auction method of selling your house. I did and wasn’t given the contract to read before signing up or sent a copy to allow the cooling off period by the Watford branch. Apart from being told this would be easy and bidding was like on EBay. Interested buyers would bid and the idea was that the price would reach the reserve or above. The buyer pays 4.2% above the sale price and the seller pays no commission. All good so far! In reality people who view make an offer and as in The traditional selling method the offer is put to the seller. If the offer is refused the buyer is under no obligation to put that bid on the Iamsold website to generate more bids. So for 6O days my house stayed at its original starting price even though people had made offers moving towards the reserve price. People on the watchlist saw none of this as nothing happened. And it certainly didn’t generate a ‘bidding frenzy’I gave notice on the contract and was told it would cost me nothing. SELLER BEWARE clause 3 of the contract which I had never been given a copy of stated that I would be liable to pay the 4.2% for the next 12 MONTHS if anyone Connells had introduced subsequently bought the house. A list of 60 people. Going to a new agent you are tied to Connells for 12 MONTHS and the new agent is obliged to tell Connells if someone from the list buys the house. You, the seller then incurs the 4.2% commission charge plus the commission charge to the new agent. This does not happen if you stay with Connells and use the traditional method. However as they introduced 60 people and failed to sell the house, which by the way was valued much higher at the start of the process and the again by an independent agent more recently, they are unlikely to be able to sell it at a higher price. For a buyer a £300,000 house will cost around an extra £20,000 on top of the buying price with stamp duty and 4.2%. In my opinion The traditional method where the price starts high and buyers make offers gives a far better deal to both seller and buyer as both are in control of the sale price and end costs and there is no ambiguity.

TrustpilotConnells - the most unprofessional estate agent in …
The most unprofessional estate agent in the UK. While selling our property Connells showed as the most unreliable agency to work with. All is bad about it: from pictures they take to advertise a property (very poor quality and unprofessional) to way of communication with me (never come back with the feedback after viewings, never calls you back when you leave a message). Please don't waste your time with Connells

TrustpilotAn honest review of the Dunstable Branch, and the company in general.
Honestly? Not even worth dealing with these guys. They'll show you a flat, then claim it's gone to someone else - then they'll try to upsell you to a similar sized flat for 20% more money, and when you do try to haggle they'll use the ol smoke and mirrors to get you to sign for more money per month. I pulled out of that situation before it was signed off, so they didn't sting me for loads of money a month for a subpar space. But don't worry! Because I'm such an "amazing candidate" they called me to tell me they had a flat that's off the books, it's banging, it's in budget, come and have a look! - so I get there, and not only did I need to show the agent where the bloody flat was, he had no keys, couldn't get in touch with the landlord, and spent 20 minutes messing around trying to gain access and then eventually gave up and said they had to go and "move someone in". So travelled all that way for nothing. These guys are literally the worst. Poor communication, sales focused and not customer focused, I am willing to bet they're targeted. My experience was from the Dunstable branch but in all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same for all Connells branches. In conclusion:- Timewasters, - They care about their numbers; Not you,- Pressurising- Disorganised- UnprofessionalI tell you now - even if you're in a desperate search for a flat, even if they've got an amazing flat for rent/sale, you'd be better off avoiding this agent like the plague. They'll do you over eventually.

TrustpilotFalse advertising, lack of communication and professionalism
Connells MaidstoneWe recently rented a property that was advertised as partly furnished. On both the website and after enquiring they confirmed that would include only the white goods. However after moving in we found multiple piece of furniture that were not communicated and now they are asking us to pay for storage in case we don't want them in the house! If you are dealing with them make sure you go through every little detail before you make any decision - overall very poor experience..

TrustpilotPoor Experience
We used them via Persimmons home exchange. The initial valuation and communication with them was great as they want to get your custom. They were meant to phone us/ email about our house listing so we could proof read it before it was put on the market. They listed our house as leasehold and made up information about this lease.. The property is freehold.. 🙄 we contacted them about this and they said it takes a week to amend it on the website. 2 weeks later it is still currently listed wrong.Anyway, this probably lost us quite a few potential buyers but luckily we also had our house listed with a local estate agent who marketed our house correctly and we sold within a week with them!

I was a prospective tenant for one of the properties listed with them. They cancelled a viewing 2 hrs before the appointment saying the house was having 'some work done'. We rebooked the viewing for 2 days later and I called on the day of the viewing to confirm some details about the property. It was only then that I was informed that the property was not available. They had not bothered to contact me to cancel the viewing (was meant to happen in less than 2 hours). They did not apologise and were actually quite rude. I don't trust them at all and wouldn't be surprised if the information I was given was untrue. I would not recommend them!

TrustpilotI do not recommend
This agency performed a sales and rental valuation at my property. After the total renovation of my house was estimated at £1,600 per month as renting price. Using any website that rents houses in my area the monthly price is around £2,000 in lower standards. The hours in which you can receive apointments are between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. When I asked about later hours, I received the answer that I had to take a day off from work. The agent was very young and his behavior was unpleasant.I must add that I had a total of four agents. I received quotes of £2000 pm or more from three of them.

I've used Connells now to.manage my properties for 12 years since 2012.on.a full management basis I've always found them competitive component and offer an excellent service particularly at Branch level.Recently we've been looked after by Sonny Munnerley who has provided us with excellent service on the occasion we've had to call upon his assistance. I would recommend Connells as a Lettings Agent

TrustpilotCommunication is appalling
Don't expect anyone to pick up the phone if you have a query. Once you manage to find someone who accidently does they will refuse to give escalation Manager details. Don't expect them to adequately staff their offices. Even their Area Managers follow the same corporate line of hiding who their Manager is to avoid them finding out what a poor service they provide. DO NOT USE THEM.

TrustpilotIntentional Missed Call
I received a call, when answered they hung up. So I called back to be answered by someone who was quite rude asking if I received a missed call. When asking if that was the intention for me to call back she said basically yes. This is very intrusive behaviour and therefore I would not be using such a sales orientated company!

Extremely rude, asked if I had building regs for a partition wall. Which is completely incorrect. Valued a 3 bed flat in London at less than a studio rate. On top of that absolutely rude, unprofessional. Please if you bank/ lender has used them try to use someone else. They are awful and will treat you like you owe them something.

TrustpilotConnells Malvern- Awful Experience
Connells Malvern- Wouldn’t even give this company 1 star but it was the lowest I could go. Twice we have had appointments cancelled last minute.First appointment was cancelled via email with no information as to why- when I called I was advised that it was due to “a computer error, double booking” I was not happy but it happens so I just rebooked for a few days later. The second appointment was also cancelled last minute via email- no information as to why. When I called to understand why this one had also been cancelled I was told I myself had called up to cancel! I had not spoken to them since I had called to rebook the original cancelled appointment. Then after being put on hold for a period of time so that they could look into this, they came back to advise me that the computer system had yet another malfunction and had cancelled lots of appointments and that they’d just book me back in.I advised ‘Harry’ who I was talking to not to bother to rebook my appointment as I did not want to deal with them due to the less than satisfactory experience I’ve had so far so he just hung up on me.Rude. Unhelpful. Unsolicited marketing. Honestly never dealt with a company like this. Very unprofessional.
