We bought out gorgeous new home in Dargavel Village, Bishopton in April 2021. We had the most amazing sales advisor Colina who talked us through every step of the way. Moving from Belfast was challenging as we never got to see the house, it was all virtual and Colina done an amazing job by putting us at ease. She would call and update us, send photos of outside and put our minds at rest. When we arrived to get our keys she was just as excited for us that we finally had our forever home. She is an asset to your company.

Sold a dream - living a nightmare (Newtonlees, Dunbar, plot 105)

Before I start getting to the bad stuff I’ll cover the good. The sales team were very good and Lisa was particularly nice. Lisa was extremely helpful and answered all our questions. The customer services team have been helping us which is giving us hope. James has been very helpful and sympathetic and we feel like we get somewhere every time we deal with him. The bad.... on our fifth day in our dream house we had a flood on the ground floor. After a quick investigation, we found our manhole drains to be full of grit, concrete blocks, rubble and various other items (got lots of photos). The flood was sewage backing up through our toilet, sink and washing machine drain. It was obvious the drains had not been checked as they were used as a skip. We have lots of time stamped photos of the flood and the damage. We waited weeks for the damage to be repaired so we were living in a part building site. We’ve had a snag list that is ever growing but to give Avant their due they have fixed a couple of items but the list keeps getting bigger. The spec of some of the white goods are brilliant but the quality of the house is shocking! You pay the price of a high end builder but you get the quality of the lower end. My previous home was a Barratt and the quality was 100 times better than our new Avant home. I’ve got loads of photos of the poor quality from a terrible staircase, nail heads showing in ceiling, scratched windows, gaps in skirtings, poor finishing with bathroom taps and so on ...... it’s a shame because the house has the potential to be our dream house but the quality lets it down. It would be interesting to see if they’re actually using qualified tradesman? Or maybe the QA from Avant isn’t high priority. Whoever laid our turf couldn’t be bothered - they laid the turf over drain covers and huge boulders. Needles to say the grass started to die. Would I recommend Avant to anyone? No way. Is the layout of the house good? Yes. If I could turn back time would I buy the house? No way. Do I feel ripped off? Absolutely!I wish I could leave my contact details on this review as I’d happily share all the photos.

Avant Home terrible service from start to finish...

The buying of the property was abysmal to say the least, no communication, no updates and no customer service for such a large purchase. We didn’t pull out as loved the layout of the house and location. We thought once we were in at least we would be in the house and we could forget about Avant... how wrong was we.The day we moved in we thought we could put the horrible purchasing experience behind us, well that’s what we thought, but what comes with purchasing an Avant Home isn’t just terrible sales service but a billion snags. Assurances were given that all would be rectified, ha! Don’t fall for that one! You have more chance of seeing a pink and blue zebra! The customer service Manager is arrogant and rude. You don’t get responses to emails to sort snags and when you chase it up politely you get spoken to rudely. Well you may think, escalate your complaint! Well don’t bother as the escalation process isn’t worth the paper it is written on as they don't reply to you either! All in a terrible experience. What makes me laugh they will probably respond to this review swiftly for more information! How about speaking to your Customer Service Manager Nav and ask why many neighbours are of the same opinion of him on the development. Address that, and issues may stand a chance of getting addressed and reviews start going in the right direction for the East Midlands. (Oh and don’t forget to speak to Lauren as well as she is just as bad as him).... Their job role is customer service. They don’t know what customer service means.

My experience so far..... Positive!

varied reviews on here, but I am due to complete on Friday 28/05/21 and would like to share my experience so far! From seeing the original show home with Joe and then Owen we've had a great experience. Help to choose the right plot, making us aware of the plans for the development and plans for the plot we choose. Every question we had, they had the answer and made sure it was clear and we understood. Once we choose the plot, (Thanks to Owen) we reserved it which was a seamless process and we then started the buying process and was looked after by Vicki. Vicki has kept us updated all the way through the process and in our case, it has been particularly difficult with a quick completion date required from reservation (4 weeks) and at that stage, we didn't have our mortgage offer, etc. We are now in the last week due to complete a week today. We had a home demo which Vicki arranged which was an amazing experience and the site manger was thorough and extremely informative and knew the house inside out! The house looks great and we can't wait to get the keys but i have to say our experience so far has been faultless. I would like to say a special thank you to Vicki who has had to go above and beyond to contact the mortgage broker, the solicitors and keep us updated and everyone on the same page and all on track!

I bought my first home from Avant homes and was extremely impressed with the service provided. Lisa Wood, the Sales Advisor was amazing and very friendly and proactive. She understood straightaway I was a first time buyer and also that I had no experience of new builds and she always kept me up to date and explained the whole process. Everyone that I've dealt with at Avant homes has been great and I really felt that they still cared a lot once you had moved in. There were hardly any snagging issues and the contractors they use to fix these are also great so just excellent customer service all round. I really liked the fact that you get a very detailed home demo before you move in and they make the move-in day very special (I won't elaborate as it was a nice surprise). Very happy with our purchase and thank you to Lisa who made this happen and made it run smoothly.

Great experience with Avant

Great experience with Avant, from viewing a show home to moving into our own house in a record 2 months! Big thanks to Jamie and Curtis for being great helping with the reservation and stating late to do so. Clare was a great relationship manager guiding us through the whole process and always happy to help. Sheridan really made the demo day fun and her enthusiasm and energy was brilliant. Rob gave us an excellent demo and was really attentive throughout. Thanks to Olivia for her help and she was great on move in day. Luke has made us feel really looked after by moving us in and then checking in on everything and arranging any help needed during our first week.Avant don't just ignore you once you've paid, they do a really good customer care service and everyone is genuinely wanting you to be happy and enjoy your new life on the estate.Massive thank you to all!

Greenlock Place - Lewis was a very good advisor

Looking to possibly move this/next year to the Leeds area. Lewis provided an overview and presented the shorter and longer term plans for Greenlock Place. Babington Quarter- Gary has been a few times to our home now and always gone above and beyond to help us and get issues sorted he’s very knowledgable, friendly and helpful would give him 5 stars but the overall company and customer service is not great wouldn’t buy another Avant home.Been in a year and issues since day one are finally getting sorted.

We have had issues with the solicitors and Avant homes have been great and have helped us out massively! They allowed us to use their printer to print and sign documents and kindly scanned them over to our solicitors as we are due to move in next week and without there generous help it could have been delayed! As soon as we stepped foot into the Avant sales office, we knew we were going to be treated with respect, quality, and honesty. James is a friendly guy who obviously takes a lot of pride in what he does and who he works for, the knowledge he has and the detail he went into from showing us around the show home to completing the sale was second to none, there was no pressure from him at any point. We had a hugely positive experience buying our first home with Avant homes. Not only was Mel super welcoming and helpful she guided through each step- as first time buyers we weren't sure what was going on! But having reserved and given keys within 7 weeks we can't complain at all. We used the mortgage advisor and solicitor recommended by Avant homes of which we had only positive experiences with also. They were so helpful, any time we called to ask a question it was welcomed with happy responses and quick answers- we never felt like we were bothering anyone or that and questions were 'silly'. During our demo day both Mel and Jason were checking through the house with us, which instantly reassured us as they expected a high level of quality and we knew they would make sure our house hit that standard. They made us feel at ease- even though there was a lot of information to pass on! Completion day went by without a breeze and Mel was just fab! 1 week into living in the house Jason called by for our first snags visit (of which we only had a couple of minor things), this also went by with ease, everything was taken on by Jason and even some things sorted within the day. We highly recommend using Avant homes to buy your home.

Avant have not been responding very…

Avant have not been responding very well to fix issues in my new home in DanetrePlace Daventry. House had two times massive leak from the main bathroom leading to holes drilled in kitchen ceiling and in bathroom walls. The other two en-suite had leakage issues and stopped working leading to change the shower box.Whole house has not been completed before the handover. They gave me the keys standing outside the home and made me to sign it.It’s been two months not much progress interms of fixing issues. House is filled with construction and paint dust and I am left to live/breathe in this place everyday. There has been more than 50 patches done to resolve the uneven surface in the walls and ceilings but they didn’t bother to finish the paintings for more than a week now. Still there are 10s of patching work. Blowing fresh air to the kitchen utility from the garage as the door is not fixed.Door to the garage is fitted wrong way around. Holes/ uneven surface all around the pipe everywhere. Didn’t fit any of the optional extras I have ordered during handover. The list goes on and on It already over two months and When I escalated further and further, the answer I got from one of the directors last week was that I have to wait for two years as per contractual terms with no proposed deadline or time frame to fix things.Even I have mentioned about the possibility of me getting Heath issues living in this house and they don’t care to bother for anything. Have no idea what to do now.

Customer service is terrible (and that’s before you part with your £500k!)Rang numerous times to try and arrange to see the show homes in wollaton Nottingham. Eventually got through to someone who said they would take my number and someone would get back to me . That was three weeks ago. No one got back to me. My partner tried ringing , he left serval messages and after a while arranged an appointed. We turned up as arranged at 10 am.... waited til 10.10 but no sign of anyone. Later that day someone rang saying that our appointment had been book in his diary at 10am but he didn’t actually start work til 11am. Disorganized and uninterested

Wakefield, City Fields- Excellent experience from beginning to end

Wakefield, City Fields. We have had a great experience from beginning to end, of course there have been challenges along the way due to current situation but Avant has always been supporting us.The day that we entered the Marketing suite and met Kelly we had been day visiting other developments from other builders, and Kelly really made a difference. She welcome us warmly and respectfully, and had genuine interest on answering all our questions and concerns. Speaking with her we felt that we could trust Avant. Next day we came back and booked what it is now our beautiful home.There were many delays through the process, from August to December and finally January, maybe we would have appreciated a bit more certainty during the process, but I guess that no one had that at all. The specifications changed during the process but Avant made sure that we got what we had signed before these changes. Kelly and Olivia helped us very efficiently with this.When Clare started to look after our case, everything was also very good, good communication and willingness to make the experience as good as possible.Only thing that I wouldn't recommend is Avant solicitors, Emsleys, lack of communication and explanation on the steps to take, I felt many times that they thought we should be the experts and not them. Once we moved, Rob and Luke made sure that everything was as we asked. We hired a professional snagger as we know very little about construction! The feedback from the snagging was very good, the number of snags found was quite below the average for a house like ours. There were some things that needed to be fixed, and Luke, the site manager, acknowledge them and has taken very quick action to fix everything that is needed, showing very clearly his aim to deliver the best quality to his customers. We went to visit City Fields development in Wakefield and we were greeted by James.As first time buyers we didn’t really have a clue what to expect or what we were doing really but James put us at ease straight away. He gave us the number of a financial advisor to speak to and kind of see where we were at and we ended up coming to see James again the next day to secure our house.The experience so far has been super easy and fast and James was just really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend speaking to him if you’re looking at Avant homes.
