GoogleMost responsive agency I’ve been with during my whole time at uni. They fixed issues raised with them quickly and efficiently through an online portal they have for maintenance requests. Although they were slow with emails, if you called them or submitted requests through the maintenance portal they were really good. We had no trouble getting our full deposit back. Cathays is known for having some dodgy housing agencies but I did not have any issues with JNR.

Google*current tenant with JNR*
JNR are brilliant, they are always available via phone and email for me to contact! JNR initially negotiated me moving into my property earlier than planned for my own convenience and the whole flat had already been freshly painted and updated for me. All of the paperwork, contracts and inventory were ready for me when I collected the keys. References and guarantors were set up and arranged with no hassle to myself and smoothly done!
Any maintenance issues are fixed asap and they always give notice on inspections or visits- otherwise I have no need to speak to them as my property is fab with no issues.
Excellent staff- James has been fantastic throughout my tenancy.
Really good agency! I have found my experience very easy and pleasurable with JNR :)

GoogleJNR have been a great agency to deal with over the past year. We did have a few maintenance issues during the tenancy, however the team at JNR always worked hard to resolve these quickly and without fuss. Connor was particularly helpful, and always had time to take my calls.

GoogleMy tenancy with JNR properties was really disappointing! For example, we were left with no blinds for a year and were told we could not put our own up. This left us exposed when getting changed in bedrooms and coming out of the shower and was distressing as young girls. In addition to other un-resolved maintenance issues, at the end of our tenancy we were charged £600 from the deposit. £30 to clean a lampshade to high for us to reach without a ladder. £270 for the landlord to repaint simply because he didn’t want to pay out of his own pocket. There were other silly charges and an additional £130 ‘light cleaning fee’ even though we left it cleaner than when we arrived. Thankfully we managed to get the deposit back, by proving it with old pictures, so keep this in mind you are renting from them. These issues could have been easily resolved had communication been better from the team particularly Ryan. Who was lovely on the phone or email if he wasn’t avoiding you, but unfortunately actually never got anything done. What he did manage to was tho was make up the charges from our deposit some of which were illegal according to the tenant fees act 2019. Overall JNR properties personify poor customer service and are one of the worst letting agents in wales.

GoogleI had a really positive experience with JNR Properties in Cardiff! The team were friendly and helpful whenever we had questions, and they worked hard to address maintenance issues quickly. They offered a range of properties in great locations near the city centre and were always available by phone when I needed support. I felt supported throughout my tenancy and would recommend them to others looking for student or city living accommodation.

GoogleI contacted this company around a month ago in the hopes of looking for an apartment in the Bay Area. I first spoke to Dan who was very charming and lots of help. he made me feel right at home and allowed me to put a lot of my confidence in him.
He then introduced me to Ellie who assisted my searches for my dream apartment, Ellie was fabulous and a lovely lady who talked me through different payment methods etc.
I'll definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family for when they move out!
Thank you again.

GoogleI had very bad experience with property even after being a tenant for a year, the letting agent named Shannon is so rude with me, the way she treats a tenant is so bad. Her behaviour towards tenant is not good. Overall a bad experience because of such staff.

GoogleI moved into a property with JNR in July, and had a couple of issues in the beginning, including not having the correct key for the flat, and a contractor showing up without notice.
However, everyone in the office was lovely and happy to help. Connor came out to the flat immediately to correct the issue with they key, and spoke to the landlord about the contractor, after which, the issue never happened again.
Since then, everything's been fine and the office always have time for my calls/emails when I have a question.

GoogleI've rented with a few services in Cardiff within the past 5 years. Within that time I've had some unpleasant experiences with some and obviously some I've had a positive experience with.
JNR being one I personally had a great experience with.
When ever my partner or myself reported an issue they always rectified it within due time and never any debates or "what if" run abouts, which I've had with previous agents in the past.
Our move out was swift and reasonable, we were informed of certain charges but after I had a brief phone call with James and explained the situation it was sorted and we received our full deposit back.
I have to give a shout out to James, Ryan and Shannon as they were very easy to deal with over the phone & email.
From a personal PoV I would recommend JNR to people.

GoogleGreat experience! Great Agency!
Everyone that we have spoken to so far has been amazing! Not only are they very helpful, also friendly and undateable (which is needed during the renting process).
Everything was so easy and well organised, from the moment we had the house viewing with James to when we got our keys with Ryan (I believe he’s responsible for processing the maintenance) to other members of staff we spoke to. Plus they gave us a folder with EVERYTHING we needed to know concerning the flat.
We could not be more pleased with the experience specially after some other adventures that we had, that left us with a bad taste in our mouths.
Thank you everyone in the JNR team for making this process nice and easy for us

GoogleThis review is about Galo and James who saved me from being locked out of my flat. I got locked out of my flat by the lock failing (not me forgetting my keys) and I called jnr and James came round within 15 minutes to help and he then called Galo who came round within 15 mins which was very speedy and he knew exactly what he was doing and was able to fix my lock super quickly. James was very helpful the whole time and he helped me out a lot. Thank you so much to James and Galo for saving me!

GoogleThe worst agency I have dealt with in my 8yrs of living I'm Cardiff.
They will try to charge you for professional cleaning (which is illegal) but to anyone who is having to deal with them just quote this act...
"According to the tennant fees act 2019, the legislation prohibits the landlord requiring a tenant to pay for professional cleaning when they vacate the property, making it illegal to do so"
Maintenance team would walk in to our flat unannounced, which I reminded more than once is illegal.
Aggressive maintenance team.
Different people told us they were the landlord.
Rude staff.
Threatened to change us for things that were already broken in the flat that was filthy when we arrived.
Threatened to charge us for professional cleaning services after we left, it got denied after they couldn't provide proof.

GoogleI wish I had checked the reviews before calling. The person who answered the phone was incredibly rude. I followed the instructions on their website to request a couple of viewing slots, which were coming up soon, but I never received any confirmation. Concerned that their website might not be reliable, I called to follow up. The person on the phone kept repeating, "You inquired, you didn’t book," which I was already aware of, that’s exactly why I was calling instead of just showing up.

GoogleThe worst estate agents I’ve ever had the displeasure of encountering.
There were countless issues with our property from the get-go. Firstly, it was brand new, and had not been registered as an address, a problem that should have been rectified long before it was eligible for lettings. We were not warned about this. This meant that for an entire month, we had to hound JNR to rectify this issue as a property that hasn’t been registered cannot receive post or install WiFi. Any time we rang up to ask for an update we were ignored and experienced rude and obnoxious responses as they claimed that they could only deal with our problem over email (enabling them to ignore us further).
Secondly, for a brand new property it had countless issues. Namely, within the first two months of living there we had a leak from our upstairs bathroom through to our kitchen ceiling. From the leak starting in November, it took them over four months to fix the dripping, despite sending copious threads of emails and pictures of our ceiling that was beginning to sag from water. After finally fixing the issue, they left a hole in our ceiling right up until our tenancy ended in August. Alongside this, I had a bedroom door that hadn’t been fitted properly which meant it couldn’t be shut, and thus was a fire hazard. It was only when I highlighted that this was a breach of our tenancy agreement did this induce any action for them to fix this. As of problems we reported and never had rectified: we had shelves that were never fitted properly, alongside a radiator that was hanging off its hinges.
The worst, and most frustrating thing about this company is that they’re not incompetent, but are just the epitome of bone idle. They would consistently book in viewings and fail to show up to them without warning, meaning my flatmate and I had stayed in all day for nothing (as they didn’t have a key of their own). If you want to spend the majority of your time chasing up enquiries, emails and deal with a barrage of rude encounters - then by all means, JNR is for you.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleThere is simply no communication whatsoever with this agency. They never respond to emails, you have to chase them at least 3 times, whether that's a matter of contract signing, receipts or booking an appointment (they forgot to book my move in appointment, they've never returned any signed documents etc.). The maintenance team itself are always very friendly and keen to help, however, I am pretty sure the maintenance issues are rarely communicated to them. For example:
a) When I moved into the property, there were at least 5 maintenance issues to be addressed (broken toilet seat, damaged wall, burnt bulbs etc.). It took them about 1 month and multiple arguments to get everything sorted.
b) my boiler was out of order for 2 solid weeks in December (no heating or hot water, in December!!) - I had to contact the plumber myself to get it sorted,
c)there has been a roof leak since November now - still hasn't been addressed properly - can't wait for my kitchen wall to collapse,
d) there is not a single wall in the flat that doesn't have damp patches at the moment,
and these are just a few example. My advice, try finding a private landlord, I have been renting with different agencies over the past few years in Cardiff, they all offer the worst customer service ever.

GoogleWhat an absolute joke of a company. I hope you don’t expect work to be done, because it won’t. 2 year tenancy with the no blinds is yet again an absolute joke. Promise to replace, the want for temporary and denied due to extra damage to the property walls even though the simpletons who removed it ripped the originals off the wall leaving a mess and rumble everywhere and then claimed to have never visited the property. Bit worrying but props to Jnr, they must really support young dementia workers.
Additionally, they tried to charge us 600 pound in damages that were pointless. For example, 100 great British pounds to replace a whole door due to a “burn mark” even though this so said burn mark was in fact the grain of the wood. Although, I will give them the benefit of the doubt due to their special staff members. (Someone who’s name rhymes with cannon and cyan) they probably won’t be able to decipher this message so it’s fine.
