We have been looking for our first flat and as daunting as an experience it might be, we found Oliver Jacques estate agents particularly helpful. I'd like to mention Jack in particular. He's been so accommodating arranging first and second viewings, additional viewing when out parents came to visit just to take measurements and it really went above and beyond when contacting a colleague to enquiry about some concerns about the flat, to see if they had any helpful info for us. We hope our purchase will be successful, but definetely I would rely on Oliver Jacques and Warmly recommend Jack for your viewings!

Entirely different experience to all other estate agents in the area (in a very good way!). Renting a property, the team were efficient, polite and clear at every step. Maaret promptly arranged a viewing and I was shown around by Stephen who was knowledgeable and professional. Did not rush me, allowed me to carefully consider whether the property was suitable for me, and then handled my offer promptly. Gina was very helpful and arranged all payments and paperwork with clear communication at every stage. I can see why this team have won awards and I'd come to them again. We had a fantastic experience with Oliver Jacques during our house-buying process. From the very first call, over the weekend, everything was handled professionally and efficiently. It was the manager we spoke with first who was great and quickly arranged our viewings and introduced us to his colleague for the flat viewing. Sadly he had a diary clash and Jack, stepped in last minute and was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, he really made the process so enjoyable. SHOCK, I know. Later, we met the original agent, Harry, for a second viewing, who was equally professional, punctual, and just genuine. Both Jack and Harry were quick to respond to every email and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. I couldn’t recommend Oliver Jacques enough.

A letting agent how lettings agents *should* be. Steve was honest, straightforward, friendly, and communicated clearly (never in 'agent speak') throughout the letting of our flat. I recently had an appalling experience with an estate agent named Samuel, that was not only deeply unprofessional but also distressingly intrusive. The agent in question displayed shockingly rude behaviour and complete disregard for basic courtesy and professionalism. From the outset, Samuel arranged viewings without any confirmation or consideration for my wife`s or myself availability. Worse still, he repeatedly harassed her over the phone, applying undue pressure that was both unwelcome and stressful. His actions during viewings were equally unsettling: he allowed potential buyers to open our personal cupboards and wardrobes without asking for permission, crossing a clear boundary of privacy. The most egregious act occurred when he stood on our bed, with shoes on, to access the loft above, again, without any prior consent. This level of disrespect left us feeling violated and frustrated. It was not just his behaviour but the lack of any effective communication that compounded the issue. The entire ordeal left us with a strong sense of mistrust, leading to our decision not only to abandon searches to rent through this agency but also to avoid purchasing from them in the future. This agent’s behaviour reflects poorly on the company as a whole, and I have shared my story with other reputable estate agents in London who unanimously agreed that the practices at this agency fall well below acceptable industry standards. For context, we are a professional couple with a household income over £105k, so losing us as clients is no small matter. We will make sure to advise friends, family, and colleagues to steer clear of this company and especially this individual. The only positive encounter was with an agent named Harry, who appeared professional and reasonable. However, as he is new, only time will tell if he can maintain his standards or will be influenced by the practices of his colleagues. In summary, our experience with Samuel was unacceptable and unforgettable, but for all the wrong reasons. The company is fortunate that the flat in question was sold by a family member, as I would have made viewings far more difficult otherwise. I believe we were as cooperative as anyone could be under the circumstances, yet the treatment I received was appalling.

I have to admit that past experience of working with estate agents only confirmed in me the widely held view across Britain that they can make a painful process even more excruciating. In the case of Oliver Jacques I have to hold my hands up and say I was wrong - my faith has been restored in the profession! Michael and his staff are an outstanding team - always pleasant, friendly, accommodating, patient (!) and professional. Ours was not an easy purchase due to our incompetent solicitors, but at every point in our interactions Oliver Jacques were there to guide, support and intervene where necessary. Rosalie Kurton is the jewel in O-j’s crown, their secret weapon. A dedicated Sales Progressor, Rosalie works at light speed, going above and beyond to move things along: instant responses to emails; immediate availability on the phone; in-depth knowledge of the legal process and exceptional links to Southwark Council to minimise delays when ironing out lease wrinkles. Rosalie was our sterling point of contact, always calm and capable in the face of difficulties and sure-footed, knowing exactly what to do next. She was also an excellent therapist when the stress was getting too much for me! Truly there are not enough superlatives to describe her work ethic and communication skills. Erika is a complete star. My tenants have had a complete nightmare with water ingress from the ceiling leaking directly onto their bed. Finding the cause of the leak has proved very complicated, involving both the management company and estate office. Erika has been instrumental in keeping all parties informed, while making sure that matters have always moved forwards when it would have been easy for insurance inertia to have made progress much less rapid than it has proved. Her experience with dealing with insurance claims involving similar circumstances has been invaluable. It has been no mean feat keeping all parties on side, but Erika has managed this, and I could not ask for better assistance for myself as a landlord, and hope my tenants would support this view. O-J have managed the rental of my flat for over 20 years: in this time it has been occupied for all but 5 weeks including 3 when it was being refurbished. The feedback from my tenants about O-J has been extremely positive, and they have consistently found excellent, responsible tenants for me.
