Disappointing

My property was listed for both rent and sale, which meant two teams were involved. Unfortunately, each team seemed to assume the other was handling the work. In reality, neither team generated any leads or interest, and it wasn’t until a senior manager stepped in 12 weeks later that meaningful viewings finally began. During the sale itself, communication from Peter Lane was minimal. When contact was made, it often felt like it was in the buyer’s interest rather than mine, despite me being the one paying the fee. There was also no pre‑completion guidance: no explanation of what to expect on the day, what I needed to do, or reassurance that they would be available if any issues arose. Thankfully, this wasn’t my first property sale; otherwise, the lack of support would have been even more stressful. Overall, a disappointing experience from a firm I had previously regarded highly.

I would highly recommend Peter Lane & Partners. We dealt with Matt, who initially showed us around the property, and as first time buyers viewing our very first property, we weren’t sure what to expect. Matt was approachable, friendly, and honest. He took the time to answer all of our queries, which really put us at ease. Throughout the process, Matt and the rest of the team kept us regularly updated from their end, which was very reassuring. The whole team were lovely to deal with; always pleasant, friendly, and informative. Overall, it was a really positive experience.

Disappointed as a seller

I have used Peter Lane twice now, once as a buyer in 2020 and once as a seller in 2022.As a buyer I could not fault them, they were informative, helpful and always on my side.As a seller the experience was an entirely different one. We never really intended to sell but we saw a house we loved up for sale with Peter Lane so we agreed to put our house up with them as long as we bought that one. It took too long for Peter Lane to put my house on the market that we lost the property we wanted. As it happened we did receive a good offer and with Colin's help we pushed it up so decided to stay on the market and keep looking. We eventually found a house we loved even more and the buying process started. From here Peter Lane were practically non existent for us. We barely heard anything from them, unless we asked specifically for an update. Meanwhile our purchase agent was having 2 weekly catch up calls with us. Towards the end we were struggling with our purchase solicitor, although we were selling through Peter Lane they recommended Key Conveyancing (and were receiving a fee from them) so I asked if Peter Lane could chase her. I was received by a response that could be summarised as that's not our job.To summarise my experience I have never been a fan of online agent due to a fear of no personal service or contact, however my partner used an online agent to sell his property and it would seem he received a very similar level of service that I recieved with Peter Lane but at a much cheaper price.

Wonderful estate agent

I’m really happy to give this review because most agents are tarnished with the same brush, and that’s a real shame as a lot of them are not of that ilk. Tracy at Peter Lane (Huntingdon) really pulled the stops out. This review is in regards to my purchase only. My poor vendor should have exchanged/completed last week, so, yes Peter Lane will want to seal this deal, BUT, from the offset, Tracy has been amazing. She accommodated all my viewing requests (which were on the day I called), information I needed was obtained within hours, and the whole experience has been seamless, and above all, a joy to speak with someone who is just a lovely soul and an absolute pleasure to chat to. My experience thus far has been wonderful!! Thank you Tracy and everyone at Peter Lane.

Professional Peter Lane = Happy Customer

I contacted Peter Lane to sell my mums house after her death. Colin Turner came round the house to evaluate and was very understanding and empathetic, he wasn't pushy and I felt very comfortable with him. He was very knowledgeable and explained fully the next steps. Once I had accepted the T&C's, I dealt with Anne-Marie who was friendly, informative and would always ring me back if I had left a message. Exceptional service from start to…

Exceptional service from start to finish. Warm, helpful and professional service. Peter lane did there upmost to sell our home even when the housing market was a little stagnant. We had a number of bookings within the first few days, after switching from another estate agents. Provided a home visit, with information and advice on the current market and priced as we had unrealistic view on what our home was worth, though property had dropped. We made the right decision to work with Peter Lane, and would highly recommend and will return to on a few years time. We have sold our home and will be moving shortly, and would like to say thank you for such amazing service.

It was the right decision from day 1

It was the right decision from day 1 to select Peter Lane & Co to sell our house. Very professional but friendly with nothing too much. From scheduling viewings to accompanying potential buyers around the property they always conveyed a sense of knowledge and their communication was excellent. Estate agents often have a bad reputation but our purchase through Peter Lane (in particular the wonderful Cath) could not have gone much smoother. After missing out on one property (we snoozed and lost!), Cath had an idea of exactly what we were looking for and found it soon after for us, and in fact it worked out for the best as the new house is in the most perfect location.
