Over the last 6 weeks I’ve been looking to secure a Rental property around Camberley area so registered with usual local Estate Agents’s - one being Romans - whilst they didn’t conclude an agreement for me but nevertheless I wanted to single out / compliment Courtney Chiles who was the most purposeful, organised, courteous in arranging viewings in comparison to her peers in the industry - Courtney’s passion for the job was evident & enlightening - long may it continue - well done 👏🏻

Awful from the start, be VERY careful if you rent with these people, they will do anything and falsify check in reports ( mine was done when I wasn't even there ! ) and try claim money off you for things unnecessarily at the end. We were nothing but good tenants, always paid on time, the flat we had was in such a poor state with no appliances working, we were left with no washing machine for 2 weeks just before Christmas , we had to deal with all the maintenance people ourselves. AWFUL service, all they were interested in was setting up to steal money at the end of the tenancy which they hid behind their false check in report - BE WARNED! they are NEVER on the tenants side.

I would like to give Kim Shanks a 5* review. We have been with Romans, for the past 4 years and who knows how many more to come. This has been our first rental experience in the U.K, and it has been a fantastic partnership!! Kim responds to emails professionally and timeously. She has gone above and beyond on all occasions and we appreciate your tremendous work ethic, exactly what a tenant expects when dealing with a leader in the market. There's a lot to be said for making the time to call and discuss the latest request/email and not just hitting the 'reply' button. Both the chap who showed us the house and consequently Sean, were amazing. We spent around 5 months scouring Farnham, Mytchett, Frimley and surrounds for a house and had a nightmare trying to play the open day game. Despite being a motivated couple, we lost out on a fair few house. Which was lucky, as it meant we were able to view this, and thanks to you guys, buy it! Over that last 10 years we have sold and bought twice, and I have to say - the interaction with Romans has been nothing short of excellent from start to finish. I know the game of house of buying is a complex one and fraught with tension, and I am sure you are constantly boiling over with pressure and phone calls, but, I thought I would make some time to highlight how pleased we are with your service. I will be going nowhere else in future and recommending you to anyone who asks. Funnily enough we are still very much in touch with Peter and Mary Weatherley who sold to us, and now I have also met Sue and Gordon a few doors up who are also sold with you, on they're recommendation. Everyone speaks highly of you, so on those days of pressure when it's all going mad, remember that your doing a great job. I never felt deceived or ignored by you. In fact I was bowled over by Sean who not only made the effort to respond to our "plea" in buying the house, but took the time to reply to emails and phone me over a whole weekend. He deserves special mention, a credit to Romans, and highly professional.

No Deposit Option..???

It seems unless you take the NDO you're unlikely to get a successful application. Can someone explain why a timely application after speaking to an agent, a extremely good credit history, full-time employment and a very good salary was not suitable to rent the property?After over a week of waiting and no communication, the application was rejected and the property remained available/advertised. As there is still no explanation for this, one can only presume that this is because if you don't take up the expensive NDO option and want to pay the deposit in full.....you're application will be rejected.

Having rented my apartment through Romans for several years, I have been very happy with their professional service and wrote a review which reflects that. Since then, I put the apartment on the market and am just about to complete on the sale. I recently realised that I had not downloaded my Statement Summary for the previous 2 tax years and so I requested copies from Donna-Marie Brant, my former rental agent. She replied immediately and not only sent me the information I required, but added in details for the current year. Excellent service as I have come to expect from Romans.

Agency that really looks after you, landlord or tenant

Would like to write a bit about Romans in Swindon (former Dewhurst). It is the 2nd time I'm renting with them, and both times the experience was second to none. Their processes are very well established, their staff are very knowledgeable and experienced, they respond immediately in case there's a problem and overall act very friendly towards you. Romans in Swindon seem to take care of our needs very efficiently and are the best real estate agency we have had experience with.

Whilst being super accommodating and helpful, he has been a delight to have as a sales agent.Alison Savva, has been our shining light on the dark frustrating days with our solicitor. She has taken so much time out of her already busy schedule to help us push the exchange and completion through, provide advice on how to deal with the process as first time buyers.
