Dreadful “service” Plymouth.

I contacted Martin & Co Plymouth on a Saturday morning at 10am. The phone line explained the office was now closed and that the opening hours were 9-2 on Saturday. Poor start. I went on to the Chat system and allegedly got a human who took all my details and would pass them to the relevant team. I also emailed them. The following THURSDAY, as I’d heard nothing, I telephoned and the attitude I received was unprofessional and appalling. I wouldn’t deal with them and would urge anyone using them to switch agent if they want their property sold.

There are many, many reasons for all these 5 star reviews. Just a great company that is built on great people. Totally trustworthy and honesty a joy to work with. Highly recommended and they for ever have my thanks. Sounds over the top but I have had some dog Estate agents in the past and these cannot be faulted. Special mention for Lauren.

Laziest demotivated crew in Oxford. If there was a prize for not doing your job and complaining when someone calls you out for it, these guys win by a landslide. You're better off managing the property solo. A special shout out to the older Emma who is clearly unhappy and takes out her personal stress on tenants (i don't care if you feel unappreciated at work or at home, please be professional and learn how to respond to emails). Also to add, nothing was done at the property and the landlord and tenant had to do everything

Absolutely top dogs in what they do. I own a property in Camberly and need a well run letting agency that are on the ball, as I live a fair distance away. I trust them implicitly with my property, they find excellent tenants and deal with any issues swiftly and professionally. I would like to particularly name Lauren and Giles as superb, and very experienced staff, the type of experience I have not had the pleasure of coming across in other letting agents in the area. I have recently let out my property with M&CO. Lauren handled all our queries professional and swiftly and was on hand to answer all our queries, no matter how big or small. Martin’s and Co Camberley and more specifically Giles and Lauren are the reason I retained my buy-to-let property. I’ve been involved in delivering service for two decades, so can be very critical when it comes the standard of customer service offered by most companies. The service I have received from them has been exceptional. I have relied on them, as have my tenants. They have been everything you would hope for and more. Going above and beyond what you would expect and what could be deemed reasonable. Looking after tenants and landlords is a complex and challenging role to fill, more now then ever. But can honestly say that Martin’s an Co Camberley do a fantastic job in both respect. Highly recommend whether you are a Tennant or a Landlord.

My experience of Martin & Co comes principally from interaction with Liam Tappin. I was impressed by Liam's courteous, professional and non-pushy attitude. He provided accurate information about the property I was inspecting, and, as the landlord was present, allowed conversation between landlord and prospective tenant to proceed, without any attempt to dominate. It was these characteristics, and the quality of the property which led me to make the decision to proceed at the first meeting. I was completely satisfied with the visit, and followed up the same day. Subsequent processing was comprehensive and everything was concluded without issue. Very satisfied with the experience.

Terrible (Bognor Branch)Rented for 1 ½ years and they never helped me once. Despite asking Marlina multiple time inc visiting the office, I was never given a key to communal meter cupboard to get readings. I never knew if I was in credit or debt the whole time. I was even emailed by Marlina to say too busy to get one, please ask a neighbour?Heating never worked, just a plug in radiator. Mould in bedroom ect.After leaving they tried to claim most of my deposit with false claims. End of tenancy report said multiple items missing despite them later admitting they had these in their offices. Locks tampered with, carpet dirty, pet damage & much more. They even took photos at strange angles to make things look worse than they were.Lucky I took photos start & end of tenancy & The deposit protection ruled in my favour.I promise you it was in better condition when I left. I even showed the owner round who said he was happy I looked after it.During a final call to them I asked why they never mentioned anything to me if issues and they said it was company policy to only talk to their clients. I thought I was their client???????Disgusting behaviour. If you dare use them (especially this branch) Take photos people!!Ok rant over. I don’t normally moan but all the above & virtually saying I stole items, I had to comment.Good luck all

Rented for 3 years with Martin & Co Birmingham, got left without a washing machine for 4 weeks because Debbie Kempson ordered the wrong washing machine! No compensation for there wrongdoing broken floorboards caused by contractors as the washing machine didn’t fit, no hot water for nearly a week! The worst company in the world. On departure they said I would receive my deposit back within 10 days I left on the 25th of April and it’s been nearly a month! I’ve now had to get a solicitor involved to give them a statutory declaration form to get my deposit back as they have stopped responding to my emails! I’ve been made to feel nobody caresAvoid renting with these guys!

Beware Blackpool, Lancaster and St Annes Branches

Dodgy plumbers left me with no water heating all winter. They lied and harassed me into leaving for trying to get it fixed.I spent over a month trying to get somebody decent to fix the water but they kept sending the same ones. Then I asked the council for help. Next day they started a no fault eviction (it's illegal to evict over repairs). They said the landlord was selling which was a lie.After 2 months they came and said I should have left which is a lie. They got a guy they said was the landlord (who had a different name) to lie and threaten me about the eviction.I'd been dealing with lying scumbags in a flat with no hot water for 5 months by this point so I gave up and left. They put the property up for let (for more money, when it didn't have hot water) before I moved out.I asked for a manager but nobody helped. (There are no managers, but everybody has the word manager in their job title).The council wrote to the "operations manager" for help but he ignored them. The "property manager" lied to them. The "assistant manager" hid out of view when the "property manager" came to harass me into leaving.It's an independent agent with offices in Blackpool, Lancaster and St Annes. Martin & Co is just a branding thing for the independent agents to hide behind, so "Martin & Co" won't help either.I wouldn't recommend anybody go near anything connected with this company or these people. I can't put into words the hell they will subject you to if you have an problem.As soon as you have a problem, speak to citizens advice and try to get legal help. Record everything in case you need it in court.

Its always daunting to call and say something is wrong but they are always positive and very helpful :) would recommend to anyone in milton keynes
