Illegal practices

Illegal practices! Referred to the Property Ombudsman because contract was completed by manager, Tammi, and not ourselves, meaning we incurred hundreds of pounds of additional costs. Additional problems included; no marketing of the property, little, if any, communication. Should have gone to any of the other local estate agents.

Awful service and expensive fees. Landlords should use someone else.

Been with Bridgfords for a few months and cant really give positive feedback back on any part of their service. They are slow to respond, aggressive and generally useless. Their service centre is completely separate from the lettings team which results on breakdown in communication and poor service. They are great at selling their service to entice you in then run a mile once you are signed up.

They will call you in and tell you to speak to their mortgage advisor who then tells you that he can get you the property if you sign up with them for £660+ non refundable, he will use their own solicitors too. My wife and I asked what about the other bidders and he said, the vendor won’t see those bids don’t worry. This is completely illegal and we walked away, he then said you are willing to walk away from this deal and get outbid. I said yes I would rather lose out on 20k than give you one penny. It’s kickbacks galore in that place and we know full well we will now not get that property. I would love to speak to the person selling the house but they have moved abroad and left these clowns in charge.

My heartfelt thanks has to go to Lee Johnson, we have been on quite a journey over the last 18mths. On my third attempt of trying to buy a house I managed to find my dream home. Lee did over and above to find me the right mortgage and protection and kept me up to date all the way through the process, nothing is too much for Lee, he goes above and beyond and it is clear he genuinely wants the best for everyone. His knowledge and expertise is second to none. If I could have rated Lee a higher score than 5 stars I would have, he's a massive asset and I'm so grateful he stuck with me throughout what could have been a daunting process. Would highly recommend bridgfords. Brilliant service from start to finish. Both myself and my partner have struggled with poor credit In the past and after Seeing several mortgage advisors and being declined for a Mortgage offer in principle myself and my partner contacted Lee Johnson a mortgage broker at bridgfords who went above and beyond for us. He was supportive throughout the whole process offering advice and talking us through all our options. Without Lee’s expertise and guidance I know we would not of managed to get our mortgage in place. Thank you again Lee.

This is my second review for Bridgfords who have been managing my flat for many years. I was very impressed from the service received from Sarah Broadbent, who has just re-let my flat. This is my first experience of dealing with Sarah and she called me to communicate that the current tenants would be leaving and agree next steps. Within days she called back to inform me she has found a new tenant! She is friendly, professional and an excellent communicator, keeping me updated at every step. Sarah cares about ensuring that the landlord and the tenants are happy, which is refreshing. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to let their property or find a place to rent.

Terrible communication, valuations and organisation.

We sold our flat with Bridgfords Swinton and the experience with them was terrible from start to finish. They over-valued our property by £15,000, meaning that when our buyers applied for their mortgage they refused to give them their full amount, causing us to have to sell the property for £15,000 less as we didn’t have the time to put the property back in the market due to our chain. We had further issues with our buyers’ mortgage application causing a huge delay in the sale, and we actually ending up initially losing our forward purchase due to this. Throughout this whole nightmare Bridgfords were absolutely useless. We told them time and time again to call my partner instead of me, due to our professions, and they constantly ignored this and rang me. We had to deal with our buyers directly as Bridgfords had very little communication with either of us, and would actually ring us to ask for an update on our buyers situation! Causing us more stress and an extra party to deal with and update. Whenever we spoke with Bridgfords they had absolutely no idea what was going on and couldn’t keep track of any part of the sale. They were by far more of a hinderance than a help. They also didn’t conduct any showings of our flat themselves (as they had initially sold to us) and we had to do every showing as whenever we asked them they said they were busy. They charged us £2,200 for the pleasure of all of this.Overall, if we ever come to sell again we will be sure to steer clear of Bridgfords and would highly advise others do the same.

Dont Waste Your Time

I had a very bad experience with one of their estate agent in cheadle hulme. Be aware of Omara, she views you the property and stands still and doesn't even puts up an effort to speak or show the property. A pure lack of training and wonder how bridgfords keep a check? On top, if there's other properties to see, they'd give you excuses and never deliver what they promise, delays on delays. I guess barely they have good agents and mostly its all bad. Its pitty to know what such companies has such employee who works as if they are forced to do so.

Absolutely shocking letting agents.....slack set up and even slacker staff. Theres many more better agents to go through dont touch bridgefords with a barge pole. Over so many years we've had so many problems with reporting repairs they just never get back in touch.... and when your waiting 2 month for a smoke detector to be replaced speaks volumes, and that's having chased it twice a week . So as in many replays re how customer service is important to them...they need to buckle there ideas up. Do your research theres a lot more reviews re bridgefords dont settle with Google's.

Cannot thank or reccommend Lee at Bridgfords Halifax enough!! Before meeting Lee we didn’t even think we would be able to get a mortgage, now we are set to get the keys to our first family home this weekend and it’s all down to Lee. As first time buyers we didn’t have a clue what was involved with buying a house, Lee took us through every step making sure we understood everything and made the whole process a lot easier. Lee got us a brilliant mortgage and cover that suited our needs and we wouldn’t have been able to get that without his help. He also helped us deal with our solicitors and was more than happy to help us wherever needed. Meetings and phone calls were always professional but very personable and he was great to work with. Thanks again Lee we really wouldn’t have been able to buy our own house without you. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family!

Lee of Countrywide helped me to find a mortgage deal. He was amazing and made what could have been a scary and painful process, simple and (relatively) fun. He made sure I fully understood my overheads and what would be affordable for me and always took the time to explain things in a way I would understand. We went to Bridgfords because they got the best reviews on Google. OMG if they are the best, just imagine what the worst would be like. Gave us a very dodgy valuation 30% above what we eventually sold it for.
