Just want you money and will lie if need be. We were charged £150 for photos (no other estate agent charges for photos to be done ) but we were told if we sold through them it would be refunded! Lies!!! Also no estate agents to do viewings as all too busy (not sure what service I paid for) very disappointing! These are just a couple of issues I had with the sheldon branch! Avoid.

I had the misfortune of renting a property from Burchell Edwards Burton on Trent in April 2019 to May 2019.From start to finish the experience was one of the worst of my life.Upon receiving the keys the property was absolutely filthy - definitely not fit to live in. The garden was also completely unsafe, especially for a family with 2 small children. Making matters even worse, there was an infestation of fleas.Neither the Land Lady nor Burchell Edwards Burton on Trent seemed particularly concerned. No reply from phone calls of emails, nor did they care when we went to the office. They seemed to be continuously passing the buck, and it forever seemed to be a blame game between them and the Land Lady.Finally after contacting the Senior Environmental Health Officer of South Derbyshire District Council and submitting evidence to him, then, and only then, did the Land Lady agree to surrender the tenancy.Regarding the deposit - Burchell Edwards were passing the buck once again, and not even offering us help or even advice on who to contact, just that they had nothing to do with it.We had a call from Burchell Edwards a few days later after they were surprised we had requested our deposit from the TDS after only being in the property for a month - does nobody in the company communicate?!It then took around a month to receive any money back, after the Land Lady swindling us out of money - after only renting the property for a month!I filed a formal complaint after all of this - but the reply seemed to skip around the details and not even a proper apology was given.I often wonder how many other Land Lords/Land Lady's like this are being represented by this company, or even how many more properties of hers they are letting, only for other poor people to go through the same problems, but those without support of family or the ability to stick up for themselves.Stress, upset and financial loss - Worst experience of an estate agent, in fact worst experience of a company full stop.

Booked me in for a viewing and then got harassed by their mortgage broker to come in for a meeting. I refused politely as i already had an AIP but they wouldn't take no for an answer. Consequently they cancelled the viewing and haven't allowed me to view another property since. Luckily i purchased another property from a different estate agent but having spoken to several people and agents about my experience, this apparently in addition to lieing about false offers is common practice amongst many estate agents. Please government, put in some legislation to police these agents.

I am a first time buyer and it's really sad that my first experience of buying a house has been such a bad one. Only good thing is that I'm going to take my custom elsewhere before paying any money.It all started with me seeing one of their morgage advisors and in all fairness it was a fantastic experience and made me happy enough to start my search for a house with burchell edwards. We was approached immediately after our meeting with a very pushy estate agent booking us in for a viewing, which we went along for and actually loved the house. So we began the process of making an offer on the house on question. When our offer was rejected we decided to up our offer because we liked the house quite a lot. We started to get pressured by the estate agent as she had a lot of viewings for the property. So we decided to up the offer again, and then found out the they had withheld information and it was in fact leasehold. If we upped our offer the property would be free hold on completion. So we upped our offer, with the guarantee that the property would be free hold.We decided to use a recommendation for another morgage adviser, not through burchell edwards and this is where the service quickly plummeted. We was made feel guilty for choosing another advisor and was told that our accepted offer was no longer standing as they had accepted another offer. (I wonder if they are staying within burchell edwards for their morgage)? Overall we had a really poor start to the housing market. Communication was poor, we was misleaded and fed false information. When our offer was accepted it was no longer viable because we decided to use somebody else as our morgage adviser. I would avoid burchell edwards at all costs, horrible service, rude staff and a very patronising manager (Castle Bromwich Branch). Will never use again to buy or sell a future property. I thank them for such a poor service though, because ive not had another experience like them since.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. Beware sellers, because a lot of your potential buyers either don't get to book a viewing or make an offer unless they allow themselves to be bullied into meeting with Burchell Edwards mortgage advisor even if you already have a full AIP in place. We stopped viewing anything that Burchells had on sale, which was a pity as there are a few we may have purchased. Thankfully we are currently buying through another estate agent where we had a totally different experience

GoogleBurchell Edwards probably most useless estate agents anywhere? When I moved handed a pile of keys- find which ones fit yourself No instructions for heating or alarm No keys in window locks in property - not noticed Tv aerial didn’t work, phone socket didn’t work - 3 days after reporting I got a call to say they’d emailed the landlord . By the time they did this the landlord had already sorted the problems. A similar story when my shower stopped working To top it all I got a letter today telling me my rent is a month in arrears - I paid 6 months upfront they charged me and they charge my landlord for this incredibly shocking ‘service’- how do they get away with it ?!

I have been calling this agency for the past 3 days with zero response to my calls and emails.No one ever answers the calls, the agents do not reply to any emails.What’s the point in advertising properties for sale when you are too lazy to respond!

The first time I went into burchell edwards, the staff were very polite and welcoming. Me and my partner spoke with Alisha who showed us round some of their properties and Emily helped us with final details of our application to rent our home. I found a property to let through Burchell Edwards. I had Lisa throughout the process who was efficient, timely and honest throughout the entire time. Any query or concern Lisa always contacted me to reassure and let me know exactly what was going on. Upon collection of keys Lisa also ensured all health and safety guidelines were adhered to. Unprofessional, unethical and extremely pushy. I have never had an experience like this before where the agent and the vendor wanted to dictate to my partner and I whose services we could use in terms of an advisor. Withdrew our offer as we found a better place, but I would not recommend BE at all. Steer well clear. They make you feel as if you owe them something! Awful experience!

However when came to make an offer felt was not taken seriously, wanted proof of affordability even though sent all relevant documentation. Told in no uncertain terms MUST use their mortgage advisor even though already have mortgage in place. Shame as nice property.
