Extremely Disappointing Experience with Romans Real Estate

I have had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Romans Real Estate. As someone who doesn't live locally, I have to travel a long way specifically for property viewings, which makes reliability and professionalism on the part of the estate agency paramount. Unfortunately, Romans has consistently failed to meet these basic expectations.On multiple occasions, Romans canceled property viewings without any prior notification, either by email or phone. This lack of communication not only shows a disregard for potential clients’ time but also causes significant inconvenience, especially given the distance I need to travel each time.Furthermore, my attempts to make an offer on a property have been met with consistent delays and unfulfilled promises. Despite my repeated efforts and assurances that I would receive a callback, the responses have been non-existent. It has been over a week, and I am still waiting to make an offer, with no substantial communication from their side.This level of unprofessionalism is not what one would expect from a reputed real estate company. It is disheartening and discouraging, especially for serious buyers who are ready and willing to proceed. Romans need to significantly improve their client communication and respect the commitments they make.I would urge potential clients to consider these issues seriously before engaging with Romans Real Estate. An agency that is unresponsive and unreliable can turn what should be an exciting home-buying process into a stressful and frustrating ordeal.

We recently rented an apartment through Romans and their unprofessional, negligent behaviour has highly disappointed us. The apartment is in 2nd floor and since the time of viewing (which was almost 2 months ago), the lift was out of order. We asked them multiple times about the condition of the lift and they completely ignored it. Day before the move, while handing over the keys when asked again they said that lift is working. After moving, we find that we were misled by Romans and their lie caused us extra time and money to finish unloading. It was really very stressful to keep climbing the stairs one box at a time. Had they told us the truth, we could have hired more people to help us. Now we were also told that the contact details of landlord will be shared with us. I don't understand why but they also withheld this crucial information. After moving, we don't know how to access the building as the number code wasn't shared with us. Neither we know which garage belongs to us as they are not numbered. We faced extreme difficulty because Romans didn't share any information with us and also gave us wrong information. Even after repeated emails, Chloe Allspop choose to ignore them. Atleast have basic courtesy to reply to e-mails and say the truth. The most unprofessional and dishonest letting agency I have dealt with.

Should have been with them since the beginning…

This was the third estate agent we had turned to to sell our house. We had already wasted 6 months, 3 with an immensely inept agent however, when we approached Ben, he listened to our previous experiences and in his cool, calm, collected manner, he reassured us that none of our gripes would be repeated. I left their office wanting to believe what he had said, half-doubtful he would keep his word based on my previous experiences with other estate agents. I shouldn't have questioned it really. Interest in the property doubled and his team constantly kept in touch. Mia and Oli were also superb with their friendly, positive, progressive approaches, making us feel at the centre of sale but doing ALL the work on our behalf. Ben practically guaranteed a sale when I first met him and he stuck to his word. They found a buyer within three months. Such a professional approach that took the huge pressure of selling our property away from us. I was a fool not to have gone with them from the beginning. Amazing efforts, thank you so much for getting us over the line.

Rude and unprofessional behaviour

Been treated very rudely over phone as we were on holiday for 10 days after a viewing and putting our offer .. we kept explaining our situation that we are on holidays and will be back but this person named Adam Colvim kept calling and pestering inspite of us explaining him so many times and finally asked us to never call again ???? Is this the kind of customer service you offer, do you not understand someone’s personal space .. we would take this bigger as we have call recording on the phone and make a formal complaint .. sad to see such behaviour

Catherine, Kyle and Chris, (Yateley) were always on hand if needed.  Not pushy, just in the background with little updates.  They were efficient, courteous and knowledgeable.  We were unsure if we were going to sell when Christ came round, but he continued to reassure us that it was our decision, and they would be there, if and when the time came.  Kyle spent time going over the finer details of our requirements and Catherine, well, wow, what an asset to the company.  There were days when we just didn't think it was going to happen, but she was brilliant, and assisted us smoothly through.  Even passing on messages from our buyer to us, and visa versa.  Which I am sure was above and beyond! Thank you one and all!

They share your private info to 3rd parties without consent

I signed up with this agent today to see a property for sale. It’s been a nightmare thus far. I’ve had my details shared to agents in my area ( despite being listed and contracted already for the sale of my home), which I did not give permission for. I’ve had spam emails addresses to Mr, despite being the MRS with the details logged with Romans (insulting and sexist much?). I’ve had the booking cancelled because the vendor won’t do viewings on weekends (they clearly don’t want to sell, so why is it listed on Rightmove?This whole thing has been a debacle and all because I shared my email ( which I had to spell out 6 times on 2 phone calls because they got it wrong) and phone number to be listed and vetted for the viewing. These agents are muppets and so incredibly unprofessional.. don’t bother! Go elsewhere they will mess you around and breech privacy laws to boot!!!
