Despite a difficult process selling my late Mum's property, not helped by first Brexit and then a pandemic, Russell and Butler were very pro-active in finding us a buyer and then being always available and honest and keeping me informed at all times. A very special thank you and mention to Tracey Steventon who was our 'sales progressor' - who even knew there was such a thing? It was really reassuring to have a named point of contact. She always responded quickly to emails and phone calls and seemed to take a genuine interest in sorting out problems and keeping me up to date.

My mum decided to downsize and chose to purchase this property from you and sell her house. Obviously with the pandemic hitting us like it did it has been a long drawn out process, but amongst all of this I have to tell you about one person. Tracey, Thank goodness for Tracey! She has been totally brilliant! I cant tell you how much me and my mum (me mostly) appreciate her assistance over the last months, I have never bought or sold a house and neither has my mum (apart from her first house when she married my dad). So you an imagine I was like a fish out of water. I’ve had constant phone calls and emails from her every step of the way, keeping me informed of every step (unlike the solicitors or the other estate agents we chose to use). She has given me clear and understandable advice on emails I’ve had to write to our solicitors, kept me informed of everything she was doing and also why to progress our purchase. Even calling me in the evenings to see how things were. Also (this is important) telling me the truth! Moving day was a nightmare! But thank goodness I had her on the end of the phone and it all turned out well in the end Her customer service skills are totally top notch and I hope you realise how lucky you are to have her. 😊

Above and beyond

There are estate agents, negotiators and then there are genuine case progressors like Tracey.I’m a mortgage broker and my customers chose to buy a property from this estate agent. Nothing was too much trouble for Tracey and despite the looming stamp duty deadline, we managed to complete in time. I can honestly say I wish I was located geographically closer, as all my purchases would be a lot smoother in her hands! Big thank you from me.

I've dealt with Russell&Butler last year and this year and can not fault them either time. I brought my house with them and completed at the beginning of October after a lot of dragging out by my purchasers solicitor. I honestly think if it wasnt for Tracey we could still be waiting! Couldn’t recommend more highly! The whole team have handled our sale with positivity and professionalism every step of the way. They were extremely quick getting it on the market within our tight timescales, and supported all of our requests to showcase our property just the way we wanted. Nick Butler is very down to earth and reliable, and Laura their photographer is very personable and spot on with the the photos. Chose them over another local estate agent which was absolutely the right decision.

The staff at Russell and Butler embody true professionalism! They are courteous and reliable and always handle requests in a prompt and efficient manner. Right from the initial viewing it was obvious that, not only do they do their best to safeguard the landlord's best interests, they also go out of their way to ensure that tenants are matched with appropriate dwellings to meet their needs. They take the time to get to know their clients and really make them feel right at home. This is particularly appreciative since many of us are students who are a long way from family and the familiar surroundings of home. I am truly impressed by the level of service we have received. I have found the service from Russell and Butler absolutely disgusting. My partner was frankly taken advantage of during her incredibly stressful one year contract with a rental property of theirs. They have no consideration and make things very very difficult for international students. From being spoken to like a fool, treated like an idiot and having paid for the post rental clean (and all other charges) - my partner still haven't received a a penny from the deposit. (in excess of £1000) From a company that believes in, 'good old fashioned customer service' this is a joke. Any moral driven company would have the decency to ensure customers rightfully receive what is theres. My partner was victimised having left the property December 2016, Russell and Butler have made no contact re: the deposit. However I am unsurprised they look to brush this under the carpet as well. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Disgusting Unprofessional Service & Bully Tactics

I have never had to suffer such unbecoming conduct from an estate agent in all my experience of buying and selling property. My initial complaint regarded a member of the team who harassed me on the phone regarding an offer I had put forward which had been rejected. She was single minded and repeatedly told me I needed to put a higher offer in. When I replied that I needed to allow myself some financial wriggle room in order to make changes to the property and furnish it etc. She seemed to just repeat the same script "you need to put in a higher offer, they want £420k, don't tell them I said that, but you need to offer £420k". I joked that they need to give me the furniture in the house to cover the extra £3k and she said "I'll ask them do you want everything?" To which I replied no. She then seemed to get annoyed and told me that she personally didn't feel my offer was higher enough and I needed to give them more money. I queried what her personal feelings had to do with the deal since she was meant to be impartial and she went back to her "you need to offer more money" script. I politely ended the call telling her I could no longer speak to her as she was now upsetting me. Her response to that was, "before you go what offer shall I put forward?"My husband then called to ask for one of the owners whom we'd met to take over the case so we didn't have to deal with her again. Instead of apologising that she had upset me, he brushed it aside as a clash of "personalities". He then proceeded to try and deal direct with my husband who told him to contact myself, which he did, but would go back to my husband after speaking with me to tell him any outcomes. He was good enough to take the file home and continue negotiations on his day off, but when I tried to say how disappointed I was that I had not been at least offered an apology he began shouting over me and eventually said "you're just annoying me now", at which point I terminated the call. I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism displayed by this company and I most certainly will not be using their services in future.

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. I went with Russell & Butler due to Cheryl's knowledge of the local area and her genuine interest in selling my property based on my best interests. When I was coming up to exchange of contracts the dedicated team ensured that all problems were identified and resolved. This is something that you don't consider when you are trying to sell your house, but the support I received was priceless.

They were excellent to work with and I would thoroughly recommend them - they organised everything from Gas Certs to new tenants. I had to do very little and I knew I could trust them, which was great!I stopped using them as my circumstances changed but, if I were to have another rental property, I would definitely use them again.
