Bad experience

I am deeply disappointed with the service provided by William H Brown. We were approved to move into a house managed by them, only to be blindsided nine days before our scheduled move-in date. Upon calling to confirm the details, we were informed that the landlord had decided to sell the house a few days prior, leaving us scrambling to find alternative accommodations. Not only was this lack of communication unprofessional, but it also caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. It's unacceptable that we had to initiate contact to discover this information rather than being informed proactively. Moving forward, I would caution others to think twice before trusting William H Brown with their housing needs.

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service. Having paid William H Brown to manage a property we were letting, they provided an extremely poor service and unbelievably poor communication causing stress for me and the tenant. We also paid for a property check before and after the tenancy. The before one was very accurate and professional, the after one was unbelievable and stated there was no dust and all was in good order. The flat had not been cleaned for two years, holes drilled through walls to run cables between rooms, and hang speakers. It has cost us a lot and a lot of time/effort to get the flat back to a good standard. While the tenant owes several month rent, we have had to forfeit the bond to cover repairs as the tenant is arguing that the flat was in a good order, due to this poor report. We took picture and are now putting an official complaint in as well as trying to seek expert advice on how to recover the money owed. William H Brown have caused so much stress and anxiety and don’t seem to care. Probably the worst company we have ever dealt with.

Avoid at all costs!

So this company is appauling to use to sell your house! They sent a couple of people to view it who actually stole products from our bathroom! They never sent anyone else or made any effort in the 3 months we were with them. I then told them we wanted to leave them as we were out of contract and by some miracle they said they had another viewing! They told me this on the Friday a week before he was due then on the day of viewing a week later they said he cancelled. 😑 TERRIBLE COMPANY AVOID AT ALL COSTS

No confidence

A gentleman came to give us a valuation on our house. He did not fill us with any confidence that he knew what he was talking about. He hadn't done any research into properties for sale in the surrounding area, I knew more than he did. He gave no information about needing an EPC certifcate or any other upfront costs. He also u turned on many of his comments during his visit. I will not be going with this company to sell my house.

Please avoid them if you can

Please avoid them if you can. I wish I'd known that before.Very poor service, not responding to emails at all or taking ages to respond. Neither letting manager nor the agent are responsible professionals, waste of my time to deal with them. When I came to collect the keys for the flat I was moving in, the manager was looking for the keys for 30 mins as he couldn't locate them, knowing that I was collecting them that day.Promise things and then never do them... I could write a long story about them!!

Absolute disgrace

In this company the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I am investor and this is a second time this happened to me with them. Tried to arrange the viewing immediately the property came to the market(Beginning of the week). I was completely flexible with dates and time. One of the "great agents"(lady) promised me to come back with the date once they check. But of course she didn't. I had to call day after to arrange the viewing. The earliest which they could do Friday(confirmed). On Thursday lady called me to a to arrange the viewing, of course she hadn't clue that I have a viewing next(which supposed to be in their system, if they have one) day. Bottom line they have cancel the viewing hour before my visit when I was already driving to the customer. I called to their office wanted to talk to their manager to explain this is not how it suppose to work. The manager said she will call me in a minute. Well this was an hour ago and the way they operate I don't think I even will get a call. Honestly just stay away from them. Absolutely useless, I don't even undestand why people choosing this company to represent their property..

Beware this company

After repeated phone calls and emails requesting a copy of the contract I signed with William H. Brown for the sale of my house it is still not forthcoming. I get promised that it will be sent immediately but there is still no sign of it. It should not be that difficult to produce a copy of this. I have never given a copy of this document even when putting my house on the market. I have tried to find what the percentage of the sale Wm. H. Brown take in commission. Apparently, unlike other agents they just work on a set sum. The commission on my sale works out at 2% and all I want is a copy of the original contact to confirm that the amount is what I signed for. The fact that I am still awaiting this copy is in itself suspicious. Beware of using this firm unless you have all the facts in writing.

Angie was fantastic, as first time buyers she made this feel easier and always kept the communication up to date. Really enjoyed meeting her in person when we finally collected the keys. Ricky was also brilliant at helping us with the mortage process, again made everything feel easier and less scary. Basically, lovely estate agency.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

I GOT HOME AND PHONED WILLIAM H BROWN TO BE TOLD THAT IT WAS NO LONGER WITH THEM BUT WITH ANOTHER ESTATE AGENT. I FOUND OUT THAT ON THE THURDAY CONTRACTS HAD BEEN EXCHANGED ON THE PROPERTY AND THAT THEY KNEW THIS ,BUT DID NOT BOTHER TO LET ME KNOW . Truly awful

I feel for anyone attempting to sell a house with WHB. This is based on my experience of trying to buy a house marketed by them. They don’t return enquiries about properties. They refuse to let you put in offers saying the offer is not high enough. When you withdraw offers because they say it’s not high enough, they then phone asking why you’ve withdrawn the offer. Then call you a liar when you give a reason. They do get in touch to pressure you into taking a mortgage through them stating that if you use them as broker, it will put you in a better light with vendors thus increasing your chance of being successful in purchasing the property. I feel this is unethical at best, not even sure if this practice is legal. Awful, rude and arrogant people. My heart goes out to all those who have property listed with this bunch of unprofessional operators. I will no longer enquire about any properties for sale with WHB on the basis that I don’t like being spoken to like an idiot merely for trying to purchase a property.

LYING RIP OFF COWBOYS

Do not go anywhere near this company. They give you an indication of respectable fees to get your business and then sneak in extras, add ons and anything else they can dream up. As it's deducted at source you can't get it back even though they will promise to on a daily basis. If you want lying to, robbing and generally treating badly this is the place to go they should not be allowed to be in business of any sort at all

Warning - Terrible Experience with WHBrown Letting Agent

I am writing this review to share my utterly disappointing experience with WHBrown Letting Agent. My encounter with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to warn others to avoid this agency at all costs. To start, the level of incompetence displayed by WHBrown is astounding. Their complete disregard for the well-being of their tenants is shocking. My attempts to address maintenance issues were met with negligence, as my complaints about moulded bathrooms, paint falling off walls, and faulty electrical work were conveniently ignored. Moreover, the racial insensitivity exhibited by WHBrown is deeply troubling. The lack of respect and condescending behavior from their staff members is not only unprofessional but also unacceptable. It is disheartening to experience such blatant disregard for human decency, making it clear that they prioritize profit over people. The final straw was when they left me and my children in a cold, uninhabitable house for a week. Despite consistently paying rent with no arrears, we have been treated with disrespect and utter disregard for our well-being.I implore anyone considering WHBrown Letting Agent for their property needs to steer clear. The level of service provided is abysmal, and their practices are not only unprofessional but also border on neglectful. My experience has been a stark reminder that tenants deserve better treatment and respect.Avoid WHBrown Letting Agent like the plague, and spare yourself the stress and anguish of dealing with such an unscrupulous agency.I have encountered them on two occasions at two different location and they are absolutely rubbish.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs, don't do what they say they are going to do, complete waste of time, told people viewing no need to remove shoes before entering my house even when they asked if they have too "just rude" didn't get the right type of people viewing one couple didn't even want this area they wanted about 5 miles away! Promised an open day that never happened. Now getting threatening letters about payment for an EPC they had already been given card details for payment, phoned 3 times no response just more threatening letters in the post, absolute shambles!

Avoid at all cost!

It took us over a week to get a viewing of a house that we planned to buy. On the day of the viewing we had agreed to meet the agent outside the property. It was obvious it was a house of multiple occupation because when the agent failed to turn up we knocked on the front door. The estate agent had not told us the house was occupied and had no good reason for not showing up to show us round. I would advise to avoid these people if possible.

Thank you to all the team at William H Brown, Broxbourne. Matt & Dan were always on hand to answer any questions but more importantly they were friendly & professional throughout the process of us buying. If we were ever to sell then these would be the agents without fail!!! Well done guys you certainly put the estate back into the "agents"

Don’t bother

Don’t bother, looked at a house that turned out to be rubbish anyway and they won’t leave you alone after getting details to see if they can sell you something or sell your property even if your not interested. They will call every week to annoy the hell out of you. Even kept calling when I was arranging my dad’s funeral!

Stevenage branch is a waste of time…

Stevenage branch is a waste of time recently a neighbour sold up and moved the new owners have decided to rent the property out for two years.Problems started to arise about a month after tenant moved in bins not put out prefers to hire a skip ( what do you pay council tax for) takeaways being delivered at 2am bright lights in my bedroom windows I don't mind people having a takeaway but show a little thought for others.Recently loud voices at four am then people coming to stay playing loud music very early in the morning ( two am)Being a shared drive parking in a manner that makes it difficult to use drive.Guttering falling down Stevenage branch notified months ago still nothing done in regards to this and other complaints now other neighbours have had enough and are complaining things like parking on the front lawn which now resbles a badly ploughed field.Landlord just as bad comments oh the tenants got issues it's upto them if they put the bins out (so rats are not a serious issue) loud music from car radios at two am is classed as anti social behaviour as stated if they want to eat takeaways about eight times a day that's fine but have some thought for the neighbours when ordering early in the morning this used to be the best area in the town with a five star rating now people feel their being pushed out by vermin.

I feel that I have to write a review

I feel that I have to write a review. I was asked to provide proof of ownership from the Land Registry before they put us on the market? I’ve never experienced having to do this with any other Estate Agent before? Felt it intrusive and unnecessary, and too personal? Is this ethical? Is it permitted? I thought this level of enquiry was up to the conveyancing solicitor, only on agreement of offer from prospective buyer. During the time with this company, not one person turned up. We did have several appointments just no shows. I know it can be a challenge when viewers may book but not follow through but we gave up with these agents.

Not trustworthy …

We applied to this company about a property we wanted to rent the day after it was advertised, when we finally got through to the office, they said they weren't arranging viewings at that time but they would keep us informed, the next day, this property was unlisted. We phoned the office and asked why and they said somebody had agreed to rent without viewing, how convenient!!!
