I viewed a few properties with Chris from William H Brown Estates whilst I was looking for my first home. When I initially contacted them to book a viewing on a one of the properties, Chris was on the ball immediately, set up the viewing as well as an appointment with their mortgage adviser, which was very helpful. As well as viewing the property I initially contacted them about, Chris also wanted to show me another property that he thought I might like, which he was spot on with because I really did like it. The way things turned out, I did end up purchasing a different property with a different agent, but that said the service I received from Chris and the team from William H Brown Estates agents was second to none, and I would genuinely recommend them to anyone looking for a property in the future.

PLEASE STEER WELL CLEAR!!

Poor communication, false promises from sales, lettings and mortgage services. Started off great but once they've had your money they don't care about resolving any issues. Don't bother with the lifetime membership as you'll have to do all the work yourself. Don't bother with management services for letting a property either, they won't tell you about any problems and they'll let your tenants damage your property and steal from you without any reconciliation measures or compensation. I sold my flat over a year ago and I'm still battling with them and the Zero Deposit scheme to compensate me for my property being stolen and damage that I paid to fix for the new owner out of my own pocket. PLEASE STEER CLEAR, SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE!!

As a tenant this is the worst rental agency I've ever dealt with - expected more from such a big name

As a tenant this is the worst rental agent I've ever dealt with. 1) Difficult to get in touch with - they hardly ever answer the phone. 2) The property was dirty when we moved in, no inventory provided. 3) The property was managed by Sequence Ltd who have provided a very disappointing service - early on we were told (via a phone call and after several weeks of us asking) to arrange for repair of a maintenance issue ourselves and that this could be deducted off our rent afterwards, and that the landlord had instructed this. We never received the refund, they said because they didn't have records of that instruction. Several staff members had started then left during our tenancy which didn't help (we were there for 6 months). 4) We are now having to contact Tenancy Deposit Scheme to get our deposit back relating to a different issue, mostly due to our inadequate landlord who it seems is trying to claim a random amount of money anywhere he might get away with it (we left the property in a cleaner state than when we arrived to try to avoid any possible excuses for deduction from deposit). Sequence Ltd doesn't appear to know about or be bothered about the law and tenant's rights.

I want to thank Phil Miles for all his advice and continued support in assisting us with our mortgage. Phil responds quickly and goes out of his way to find answers to all our questions, there is never a ‘silly’ question or request with Phil and he even responded to an urgent query on his day off! During the whole process, there have been many unexpected events that have come up, but Phil is always there to reassure us and find solutions to overcome these ‘hiccups’. I would not trust these people

I would not trust these people, I emailed them to arrange a viewing on a tenanted property, no contact, after a couple of days I called them to arrange a viewing for same property, straight away the sales person tried steering me to another property instead, but I held firm, they said they would get back to me with an appointment, they never did, it’s now sold. They have preferred investors waiting in the background, other sectors would not get away with it.

All I can say is they are shocking

All I can say is they are shocking. They have a brilliant sales pitch to get you hook on using them to sell your property then once you agree the service they provide goes downhill from there. 99% of the viewings are time wasters as they are not vetted before viewing that they are even interested or proceedable to purchase. They promise open house viewing days but have never once done anything like that. Communication is poor and I'm always chasing them for everything. You get sent offers you accept them then they say the buyer has lowered their offer will you accept it.

We put our house on sale with another estate agent and 8 weeks later although we had a number of people viewing the property we had not received any offers. Having been approached by a number of estates agents we decided to advertise our house with William H Brown along with the existing Estate Agent. Whilst the initial process of getting people through the door was a little slow, they managed to attract a number of viewings. Prior to the viewing a member of William H Brown came over and made sure that they were familiar with the layout of the house. Every viewing was accompanied by a member of William H Brown and Matt was brilliant at showing people round William H Brown know the Broxbourne area well and in turn so not only sell your property but the area along with it, giving a buyer a full picture of their investment. We would definitely recommend using them

Keep pestering me despite house selling months ago

Came to our house for a free valuation before putting it on the market. We went with another agent because we felt William H Brown overvalued our house. We told them as soon as we decided that we wouldn’t be going with them. Since then, they have pretty consistently called me from various offices (local/regional etc) asking to co list with the agent we chose, trying to set up an appt with their in house mortgage advisor, asking if we have found anywhere else, asking how our sale is progressing etc. Our house sold in a week and we had an offer accepted on our new house the following week so we have absolutely no need for any input from William h brown. Yet still, three months later, they call me fortnightly to ask how everything is going, despite me asking them repeatedly to remove my details and any data associated with me. They are dogs with a bone who won’t take no for an answer!
