GoogleHad a valuation appointment for my late father’s property cancelled at the last minute, with the agent telling me she had ‘the lurgy’ as though it was a hilarious joke, when I had travelled 2 hours and taken time off work. I explained that I wouldn’t be rearranging the appointment due to the circumstances, and asked for my details to be removed from their system. I then received an extremely self-important reply (in breach of GDPR law, at this point) telling me why they were in the right and I was in the wrong, and failing to express any compassion whatsoever for my recent bereavement. I can honestly (and thankfully) say I have never had an experience with an estate agent quite like this one.

It was very unfortunate that our branch manager was taken ill this morning and unable to attend our valuation appointment. I know that she left a message for you explaining why she could not meet you and she also sent an email to apologise for this before leaving the office to go home. We were also aware that you had travelled to meet with us and other agents in order to value your property today, and we did apologise for our cancellation. Obviously you have other agents attending, so you should receive a valuation from the other agents. We have have not breached any GDPR and as a courtesy I sent an email explaining the circumstances in more detail as to why we had to cancel our appointment with you, and confirming within that email that we would remove your details as requested. It is unfortunate that you have left this one star review and I wish you every success in selling your property with your chosen agent.

GoogleReally happy with everything with Bishop. I was under a lot of pressure from a lawyer to vacate my former abode, owned by my late mother (my home of 44 years) and was in a very emotional and anxious state when I first contacted them. I was made to feel very welcome in their office and Tessa helped so much to help alleviate the obvious worries I had as she allowed me plenty of time to explain my situation and talk me through my options. She has a very calming and kind aura, just what I needed at that time! Further communications with other staff to were a pleasure also and once I got settled into my accommodation I was just left to get on, but I knew they were there ready to help if I needed them. No problems with getting back my deposit either with the DPS after my 14 month tenancy after trying my best to ensure I left it clean and tidy on departure :)

GoogleI can’t recommend Bishop estate agents enough.
They are always so helpful and efficient. On the odd occasion there has been a slight issue at my house Tessa or Gill have dealt with it immediately meaning I don’t have to suffer the stress .
They are all extremely friendly and approachable and I actually like to pop in and see them for an odd chat when I am in the high street .
If I need to email them then I always receive a reply from Tessa almost straight away even when it is out of hours .
If you are thinking of renting out a property or looking to rent then they are the people to go to!!

Bishop Estate puts customer first based on my experience with them over the years and especially with the recent management style where they split their charges into two to ensures the landlord earns some money at the end of the month instead of taking their fees outrightly and at once but are considerate of the landlord and also manages situation with the tenant very well as related to handling and fixing issues.
