GoogleI am a current tenant, If you are renting avoid Keating they do not run there properties well at all. When we first moved in the house was disgusting and so much was broken. I have had a broken bed for 2 months since day one of moving in, raised it to our property manager countless times and they have dragged their feet in replacing the bed, despite emails from the property manager saying that it needs to be replaced. Our roof leaks, broken blinds, disgusting mattresses, toilet seat not attached when we moved in. The list goes on, we have been here for 2 months now and despite Keating saying something will be done it has not. It is very poor and I will be looking into if there is any way we can take further action against them.

GoogleAvoid renting from Keating Estates at all costs!! They have failed to return our deposit and are using an inventory dated from 2008 for a tenancy that started in 2022. Whilst renting one of their flats we had contractors leave our flat fully open and unlocked, contractors breaking our window and replacing it with cardboard as well as a contractor putting their foot through our ceiling. The staff are impossible to deal with and can't provide clear answers to questions or conduct basic maintenance. You will notice all the good reviews are from Landlords and negative ones are from tenant and that should tell prospective tenants everything they need to know. Avoid at all costs!! You could not pay me to rent from these crooks again.
I am sorry to hear this feedback. As you are aware my colleague Sade in our Deposits team is still liaising with your Landlord to determine the Deposit deduction they wish to make. I can see that your Landlord has clarified the deductions today and these have been sent to the head Tenant on your Tenancy. The Tenancy for this property has been since 2008, from looking at the file there has been many name changes throughout the years and I can understand how there can be some confusion on the tenancy start date. However as explained to all tenants of the property we would have to work from the original Inventory from 2008. In relation to the Deposit Deductions, please note that Keating Estates do not benefit at all from any deductions made against tenants deposits and act on behalf of the Landlord regarding any deductions. If you are unhappy by the deductions put forward by your Landlord, please inform Sade and she will be able to advise on raising a dispute and next steps. I have also looked into the maintenance mentioned in your review, I can see that the window was broken by a scaffolder at the property, I can see that this was boarded up on the day and they attended the very next day to replace the pane. This was again the same in regards to the damage to your ceiling which was addressed within one day. As I am sure you can appreciate mistakes can happen and I believe that your Property Manager acted proactively to have this resolved for you and I do not feel the negative review is warranted in this regard. My son and his mates rent through Keating Estates. Moved in in March 25 and at the time of writing (End June 25), no window coverings have been installed (imagine the heat!). Also an ongoing problem with the boiler (everything off but radiators still hot) and issue with kitchen extractor fan. Obvious staffing issues at Keatings and left and right hand are uncoordinated.

GoogleVery happy that I'll never have to deal with Keating again. A labourious application process for a house we were renting that involved references that were sent multiple times to the same people and generally asked some ridiculous and intrusive questions. When we finally moved in, after paying extortionate fees, the house was different from when we're looked around, with all the furniture removed and the garden in shambles. We had to wait for furniture, which turned out to be the cheapest and most uncomfortable furniture they were able to find. All requests for specific things were ignored, and we were waiting for a month for curtains to be installed. Almost all visits from 'handymen' resulted in messes being created and left - in one instance, a plant pot smashed - and never once an apology from them. Issues were just completely ignored as we gave up trying to get them fixed. Deposit took over a month to return and of course they tried to charge us for pre-existing damage, despite already charging us a check-out fee where an external company writes a report clearly stating it was already there. There was also an attempt to charge us for cleaning, despite it being professionally cleaned at no small cost to us. Keating Estates employs some very polite people that are very happy to lie to your face. I'm very glad I'll never have to use them again.

GoogleA very negative experience with Keating Estates, unfortunately. Keating are blanket not doing any viewings during lockdown but are trying to pressure prospective tenants into signing tenancy agreements based on a WhatsApp video and little information. This is despite government rules allowing viewings, recognising their essential role in the housing market. Whilst you expect lettings agents to be economical with the truth, our agent (Allan) took it to another level by pretending one of the tenants was 'shielding' so we couldn’t view the property even without a letting agent. Thankfully, we were able to speak to a tenant who informed us that was not the case and one of us was welcome to view. We were glad we did as the tenants raised some serious issues with the property and its sloppy management via Keating Estates. We put these issues to Agent Allan who informed us it would be “sorted” but we included it on our offer form as a condition. Allan then tried to pressure us into increasing our offer over the asking price “as they’ve had a few offers in” but this was simply not true. Finally, Allan failed to contact us about the outcome of the offer at all, only informing us after we contacted him on WhatsApp that the Landlord had “gone with the other offer” which was another lie however as the property remains on the market. After this experience, I would avoid letting property through Keating Estates, especially during lockdown, and advise you to speak to current tenants for the undiluted facts.NegativeQuality, Professionalism
Dear Sam Thank you for bringing your observations to our attention. Having looked into the points you have raised I can confirm that we have for the interim period stopped conducting in person viewings wherever possible in order to protect our tenants, applicants and staff. We feel this is the responsible thing to do in the current climate and have found that the vast majority of reasonable people have appreciated this move and are fully supportive of our decision. We offer multiple mediums for applicants to have as much information as possible about a property before they offer and under no circumstances are any applicants put under undue pressure to make an offer on a property. It is completely their choice as to whether or not they wish to proceed with an offer on a property. On this occasion we did have multiple offers and in fact the offer which was accepted on the flat was at £505 per week. If you care to pop over to see me I am more than happy to show you the other offers (with personal details omitted for GDPR reasons) and proof of the final offer which was agreed. We have nothing to hide. We are also of course fully aware of and dealing with the electrical issue at the flat. This was brought to your attention and we have planned a void period to ensure these issues that came up recently are dealt with prior to the next tenancy commencing. I’m sorry you didn’t get the flat and may feel hard done by for that reason but I can assure you we always act in a completely open, honest and transparent manner.
