Efficient but unhelpful staff response

The sale process was smooth and there weren’t unnecessary delays in the process. Unfortunately we felt that our move manager was speaking to the seller’s interest all the time. We were glad we didn’t go for their In-house lawyer as the discussions could’ve been even more one-sided although we’ve been told that in-house lawyers are from a different branch. Simple queries from us were made into complicated, very difficult to follow answers with legal jargon and it felt very frustrating at times giving off the impression that it was being done on purpose When we raised any issues, it felt staff were taking a very defensive approach on behalf of sellers . when we insisted this be discussed with the sellers , we almost always got positive response from sellers. There seemed to be a natural inclination to take the sellers side even without discussing with them. I wouldn’t deal with this agency again if possible

Still awaiting news of our deposit nearly 6 weeks after tenancy finished. Only response we get when we call them is “we are waiting for landlord”. New tenants have already moved in, the checkout report shows there is nothing wrong in the property but they say it could be September before we hear! Tenant Deposit Scheme advises landlord should respond in 10 days. The agent is disinterested and as students we really need this money.

Lost out on a significant amount of money as the solicitors did not put through mortgage payment redemption in time. It's a shame that you have to constantly chase them to do what seems to be everyday parts of their role. Getting information from them is like extracting blood from a stone. If you're happy to email them every day then you should go with these guys as they did give us a decent rate in comparison. You get what you pay for.

Found a flat in the same building on rightmove and booked a viewing. Tommy then offered to show us the other flat in the building that they were also showing. We had a good tour of both the flats, Tommy answered all our questions and came across as welcoming and professional. A positive experience all round

Such a positive experience all round with Ocean. We purchased our house through them 10 years ago, and found them professional, helpful and honest throughout. We came back to them to sell, and the same was true as a vendor.
