GoogleIf I could give less than 1 star I would. Stanfords Estates are by far the worst estate agency I have had the misfortune of dealing with. I would quite honestly recommend if you can possibly avoid dealing with them, for your sanity and security, please go elsewhere. They have zero professionalism, respect or courtesy. I don't know if there is just zero training provided or if you have to be rude and incompetent in order to be hired to work there. The internal processes they just barely follow are shocking and make no sense. There is huge focus on getting a property rented, but then absolutely no tenant care from property management after you are on the hook and tied into a tenancy. You are treated like a third class citizen in anything you need. I called the office multiple times looking to speak to someone only to be told they are not in the office and that nobody else can even possibly entertain the query - but then as soon as the phone is put down the person in question will respond to my 4 day old email within 5 minutes, meaning someone clearly verbally prompted them, and clearly they were in the office, just avoiding calls. Every email sent is either ignored or takes a week to be dealt with. If you call to chase it up, staff are rude and abrupt. You would possibly believe they were just busy if when you visited the office, the staff weren't all standing around someone's desk having personal conversations, instead of working. I would love to escalate some of my experiences to a branch manager if I wouldn't be concerned they were just as biased and manipulative. EDIT : Hi Michael, as for your suggestion that it is a fake review attempting to hurt your company, I would suggest you dig deeper into recent tenancy checkouts that Kirsty has handled before making that assumption, as she is doing the damage without the need for any external influence. This review should absolutely stand as a true and accurate reflection of the staff at the business - your immediate attack instead of being open to problems within your staff conduct, just goes to show how little you are open to hearing about it therefore there seems little need for me to call and further waste my time. I do however think it absolutely crucial people know what they are getting themselves into.
Dear ‘A Google User’ I am slightly confused by your recent review. We have no idea who you are or what department you claim to have had a bad experience with. You mention that you would love to escalate some of your experiences to a branch manager, I am here in our office every day and always available to talk to all our customers. If there is an issue, I will try to resolve this in a timely manner. I welcome you now to contact me so I can try to resolve any of these issues you claim to have. All the staff here at Stanfords Estates are trained internally and externally, sent on training courses to keep up with changes to legislation and customer care. If I don’t hear from you in the next 7 days, then I can only assume this is a fake review to try to hurt the agency for some reason and will be asking Google to have it removed. GoogleAll went well until the end of the tenancy, when the agency stopped replying to my email regarding issues my deposit release, despite multiple solicitations - which is ironic given the instantaneous message I received the one time I was late of 24h with my rent. It turned out that I could not get the deposit back as someone from the agency communicated the wrong email to the deposit scheme, so I could not set up the required account. Luckily, the customers service of the latter was much more useful than the agency, but I cannot say I'm pleased or that I'll be looking for their services once I'll move back to the UK.

GoogleMichael was fantastic from the very beginning. When valuing my mothers retirement property he was caring and respectful of her needs and wishes, it was this approach that led us to choose Michael as our agent. Michael knew my mothers building inside and out and handled all viewings with care, respect and excellent communication, which was greatly appreciated as my mother was vulnerable. He achieved a quick sale, above asking, which we accepted in the knowledge that the chain had been well vetted by Michael to prevent issues in the future. During solicitor delays Michael stayed in touch and chased to get things moving. If you're looking for a caring agent, with the skill to secure a quick and reliable sale I would highly recommend Michael.

GoogleI put my house on the market and it was under offer after one week. A combination of accurate valuation, great advertising and hard work from the sales staff meant it was a stress free experience for us. Michael was particularly helpful throughout the sale and definitely went the extra mile for us. If you want an honest and experienced estate agent we couldn’t recommend Stanfords enough!

GoogleGreat agency to be a tennant for, Rosey especially helped me so much with finding my place, was looking for a while and found a great well fiited large room in excellent condition with great location and great facilities, she made the process that normally is slow and tideous, very quick and easy, I had the keys within a couple weeks, always a pleasure to chat to, will look forward to be living in this property managed by them for the next 3-4 yrs

GoogleWarning! They will take your holding fee and find any reason not to accept you, ie the holding fee scam. I explained that my Guarantor was retired but owned 3 houses. They said that was fine, and as soon as i paid the holding fee they said my guarantor didn't earn enough money, despite have paid off 3 houses in full she didn't qualify. Judging by the reviews it seems its not the first time, on top of that they refused to offer any kind of refund, even the director of the company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

GoogleWe had a great experience as buyers of a property with Michael at Stanfords. Like most we’ve had our fair share of negative experiences with estate agents, but these guys were the exception. We found our purchase to be a smooth, pleasant and professional transaction. Michael was always in touch, contactable, transparent and when we hit a problem our side he was understanding and very human about it. We were very grateful and would highly recommend them.

GoogleI would highly recommend standfords Estate agents, especially Ryan. Me and my partner were looking for a flat to rent in Hove, we realise that because of covid it was quite difficult, not anymore until we contacted Stanfords. We had 1.5 week left to find a place before we would start our jobs in Hove, Ryan was extremely helpful and responsive. He put us in his priority list, he was clear and had good communication, he made sure that everything would go smoothly and he took 5 days to do all the paperwork. GoogleMy experience with this Estate agents has been amazing so far. We had Cara show us flats near the pier and her natural selling abilities and friendly persona convinced me to put a offer on a flat. She was a absolute star, I was shocked to find out she had only been working as a estate agent for just 2 weeks! With her knowledge I was sure she had been doing the role for years. I look forward to building a professional relationship with her for years to come. Also a massive shout out to Ryan who even though I did not get a chance to meet face to face was extremely friendly over the phone and another person from the estate agents I look forward to builing a long relationship with.

GoogleCould not fault our property experience with Stanfords... Ryan was top class, fantastic, responsive and most importantly a genuine estate agent. Very down to earth could have a chat about anything for ages. Ryan helped us find the perfect property and he was always making sure everything was ok! Kirsty was an excellent property manager, very efficient, easy to talk too helped us out a lot and obviously very good at her job! Anything that needed fixing with the property was always done promptly and within a few days. Thank you Ryan and Kirsty for the great service, both great professionals at what they do!!

GoogleI have just moved into my new house in Brighton after months of a waiting game due to awkward buyers down the chain. Michael, from Stanfords estate agent has been a godsend all the way and has shown total professionalism combined with great help and advice during that stressful time. He went out of his way to give me regular updates, chasing various solicitors and other involved estate agents up and down the chain, and I always felt he genuinely cared for my wellbeing during the whole process. Ryan was also a great asset to get things moving, from my first visit to the new place until completion day. The two of them are truly representing what an estate agent should be all about and I would definitely advice anybody who is looking to buy/sale/rent a property in the area to get in touch with them. They are human beings dealing with other human beings… not just a money making machine…
