Dee is an absolute star!

I’ve used Brand Vaughan on two separate occasions over the past 4 years and they continue to deliver exceptional customer service (from a renters perspective). I viewed two properties with Lucy who was extremely knowledgeable, punctual and a pleasure to meet with during my recent flat hunt! After viewing two properties, within a week I had my application approved along with a confirmed move-in date! I wouldn’t hesitate to use Brand Vaughan again in the future as the quality of properties they have on their books makes it a no-brainer for me.

Unprofessional behaviour, at first I believed they were amazing until everything went Pete tong!! I was total multiple different things and then I was told there was something wrong with my credit even thought I proved I had nothing on my credit file I was then informed they were keeping my deposit but I could use it on another property BUT when I fill in the details to view the property I get the confirmation email and then I am not contacted so they are now ignoring me and they won’t reply to my emails stay away choose another agency….

Brand Vaughan is an awful letting…

Brand Vaughan is an awful letting agency.I have been renting a flat from Brand Vaughan for a long time. Unfortunately, after many years of neglect by my landlord, the flat is now in an extremely poor condition.The problems are serious and include rotten windows, penetrating damp, and the associated humidity, condensation and mould.In legal terms, my landlord has been in breach of the tenancy agreement for an unacceptable amount of time. Despite the extremely poor condition of the flat, and despite my landlord's unacceptable/unlawful behaviour, Brand Vaughan (on behalf of my landlord) asked me to pay more rent.Then, after I referred two rent increase notices to the relevant tribunal, and the tribunal decided that the rent could not be increased, Brand Vaughan (on behalf of my landlord) asked me to leave the flat.Brand Vaughan is not innocent in this situation.First, Brand Vaughan has condoned my landlord's unacceptable/unlawful behaviour.Second, no-fault/revenge evictions are completely unacceptable and will be banned soon.Third, Brand Vaughan's behaviour is morally repugnant.

Dee made the difference !

We have just moved from Kemp Town and the only reason it has happened at all is down to Dee at MM. Dee is a tiger. We had problematic buyers to be polite, but Dee rose above it all and dragged the transaction over the finishing line. She is everything you could want in an agent, whatever she earns they should double it before she’s off to pastures new. Honestly, my experience with Brand Vaughan was terrible. The responsibility for this falls on them as the house I rented in my third year as a student was through their agency. The property on their website looked significantly better than it did in person; the pictures were misleading. Despite viewing the property in a terrible state, we were assured multiple times that the landlord and agency would clean it thoroughly for new tenants in September. We were encouraged to secure the property as “it would be gone by the end of the day” Feeling pressured, we signed contracts and paid deposits. The first day, However, upon moving in, the house was in an even worse state, filthy, with muck torn carpets, evidence of electrical fires, a flooded kitchen floor, and a toilet in a disgusting condition, most rooms thick with black mould. Every room had an unpleasant odor and the house was infested with mice, we would see multiple mice during the day and even more at night, on the second night we found dead mice under the countertops in the bedrooms and next to the fridges. During the contract we experienced countless issues. Despite numerous complaints, the agency refused responsibilities over maintenance, leaving us with major unresolved issues for 11 months. The house was pretty much uninhabitable and insecure, with doors and windows not locking or closing properly. The maintenance fell on the landlord, but the agency's failure to check the building after our complaints and their reluctance to help us contact the landlord exacerbated the situation. They could not get the landlord to carry out his responsibilities but if by mistake the rent was underpaid £0.32p then you would be harassed via phone and emails for days. Trying to move out, we discovered we couldn't terminate the contract without a fee or finding a replacement. Which proved difficult given the state of the house. Most of us had no choice but to endure this experience for 11 months. The rent was also ridiculous and for the amount of money they wanted the least they could have done was ensured the house was safe, and clean. This agency should not advertise student lets in such a state, as it reflects poorly on their reputation. I strongly advise against renting any student houses not maintained by the agency themselves.

My experience renting through Michael Jones & Brand Vaughan was horrendous. Throughout my tenancy at 3 Norfolk Court, I encountered numerous challenges that were never addressed by the letting agency. let alone being asked to PAY FOR THEM AT THE END OF THE TENANCY. Communication was a major issue, with important updates often delayed or overlooked. Despite promptly reporting maintenance issues and concerns about the property, the response from the agency, particularly from Rita Trohova, was slow and ineffective. Rita's lack of responsiveness and apparent disinterest in resolving tenant concerns only exacerbated the situation.Furthermore, the handling of the checkout process was AWFUL. The proposed deductions by the landlord has left us in financial difficulty, and despite providing evidence of pre-existing emails reporting the issues prior, the agency was unwilling to reconsider.Overall, I cannot recommend renting through Michael Jones & Brand Vaughan based on my experience. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and inadequate resolution of issues, especially by Rita Trohova, have left me deeply dissatisfied. I urge prospective tenants to thoroughly consider their options before engaging with this letting agency.

Amazing experience and very professional throughout. Lucy the estate agent that accompanied me for the flat viewing was very friendly, approachable and professional. She helped me with any queries I had throughout the property and gave me a good insight on upon viewing the entire flat. I have also been kept up to date from different staff members regarding any relevant information that I needed to complete my application process for the flat.
