GoogleWe have just left a flat which we got through Lawton and Dawe, and there was a lovely and friendly atmosphere throughout the tenancy whenever we were in touch. Any issues were dealt with quickly. Would definitely recommend!

GoogleMyself and a friend moved into a property using Lawton and Dawe. We found them slightly unprofessional at the beginning but nothing that concerned us too much. However when it came to us moving out of the property the landlady tried to keep a large chunk of our deposit for so called 'damages' and 'repairs' and Lawton and Dawe fully backed her on these claims and even lied about things they had told us as tenants when we moved into the property. In the end I contacted the TDS who looked into the case, studied all the emails and documents and decided in our favour as they could see it was unfair that we were being charged for things that were ridiculous. After this my opinion of Lawton and Dawe was not a good one. They very much took the side of the landlady because she was a good friend and had used their agency for years and it didn't matter that what the landlady was asking was wrong. I expect if you are a landlord/lady then they are a good company to use but as a tenant I would never trust them.
Dear Karen, thank you for your feedback. In response to this, we pay to be members of the TDS, ARLA and the Property Ombudsman in order that should a situation arise that we cannot mediate between a tenant and landlord, we have professional services that our tenants and landlords can fall back on to reach a conclusion. ARLA and the TDS are voluntary organisations to be part of with strict codes of conduct, and qualification standards that an agent must meet and I would point out that not every agent does this but we feel it is important that our tenants feel as protected as possible when renting in an unregulated industry. My last point is that i am pleased the resolution service for the TDS worked well in your case, as yours has been the only dispute we have ever had as agency. Compared to previous agents that I've rented through and stories I've heard from others, I genuinely think that Lawton & Dawe is the best I have encountered so far. They have really catered to mine and my housemates' needs and concerns, are quick to respond and fix any issues, and they were also so great in being malleable with contracts and replacing furniture before moving in. Also, Pippa and Didi are such lovely people and so friendly! 10/10 would definitely recommend Lawton & Dawe!

GoogleLawton and Dawe - as the below reviews convey are a unique breed of Estate Agent. We rented a student property through them and they were both professional and empathetic throughout. They were patient with our registration and did not hound us for a holding deposit. They invited us for subsequent viewings to individually ask tenants what furniture they wanted in their rooms and they even retro-fitted the kitchen to increase storage space. Lawton and Dawe, alongside our Landlord have been fantastic and I would recommend them without reservation.
