Having read the contents of your recent review Aidan, it is disappointing to note the comments made within. I have carried out a detailed appraisal of your file as to how events transpired with the property you intended to purchase and spoken with individuals involved. Please note our internal file notes are recorded in real time as matters progress, outlining conversations by phone and email, and cannot be amended thereafter. When we secured instructions to sell the property you were purchasing, we acted in good faith, obtaining the relevant information from the seller. We had no reason to believe the detail was anything other than accurate and therefore proceeded to market the property. Whilst I can appreciate how frustrated you must have felt upon learning that you were not able to proceed with your intended purchase, this was beyond our control due to circumstances highlighted. We could not have predicted the findings of an independent property survey undertaken by a chartered surveyor. All our buyers are encouraged to gain independent surveys, and this was highlighted to you when our Director of Office addressed your complaint directly. The associated cost forms part of the risk when purchasing a property and when issues are identified, it can affect a buyer’s decision to proceed. I am sorry you could not achieve the outcome you desired but I am confident the office has acted in your best interests. Our sales team work hard to ensure they provide the best possible customer care, and they will be equally disappointed you were unable to progress with your purchase. Hi John, Having seen you recent 1 star review, it is naturally disappointing to note your comments made within. I cannot locate a file for you as I have not spoken with you directly and am unsure which one of our offices you may have dealt with? Whilst I do not know which property you wanted to view, I would point out that many of our sellers ask us to financially qualify potential viewers ahead of confirming viewing arrangements. Sellers want peace of mind knowing that people can afford to buy their property, should they wish to place an offer. Financial qualification with Flagstone Financial is free and there is no obligation to use the mortgage advisor. It is the buyer’s choice as to whether they wish to have further conversation about other suitable mortgage products and whether they can save money. From a buyer’s aspect, once they have spoken to our mortgage advisor, they will be in the strongest possible position should they wish to place an offer. Please understand we are carrying out our due diligence, as requested by the seller. This will be explained to every potential viewer who will be offered the opportunity to meet with one of our advisors or if they are unable to attend the local office, we will arrange an appointment via video call. If a potential viewer is resistant to speaking to our advisor, we will accept a current ‘agreement in principle’ from a lender, outlining the appropriate loan amount as evidence of borrowing. In cases where someone is also reluctant to provide this documentation, we will present the evidence to a seller. It is then the seller’s choice as to whether they wish to accept the viewing or not.
