Chancellors manages my rented house. Whenever there are repairs to be done, I call up Franki (at their Oxfordshire Property Management operation), and she is always friendly, polite, and competent. If more management agents were like her, I think more people would want to rent!

I could not recommend a letting agency any less. It is not clear to me that anyone at Chancellors understands the seriousness of being responsible for people's housing and how stressful the letting process can be. They simply do not care at all about tenants and will treat you quite hostilely.

We were renting a property from chancellors that we then purchased. Over a month post purchase they still haven’t paid us back our deposit - they don’t answer us when we chase and still can’t give us a timeline even though the payment was agreed over a month ago.

My partner and I have found them really prompt and helpful, particularly Kian who has been handling the process of securing the property we’ve been looking at. Really good communication and polite during our viewing, would definitely recommend Chancellors if you’re looking to enquire about a property to let.

A review for Shelby Chandler-Wootton as she was our middle to last contact who helped achieve what we thought was the impossible. She went out of her way to make sure our buyer was getting stuff done. We believe between her and a 3rd party involved with the purchase of our new home, they got this done on time! We thank you so much for pushing our buyer because we soon learnt a few weeks after moving that they had absolutely no interest in living in our old home and have now LET this out thus confirming why it was more stressful waiting on them getting documents sent (they didnt really care it seemed, either too layed back or incompetent). We genuinely thought we were going to lose our buyer 1 week before Completion and by this point, both us and our sellers were already underway with moving and selling items. Shelby did what she could to get this over the line so we thank you!

Despite the negatives I got from friends regarding how less helpful the chancellor would be for me to find a house, was proven wrong through her and other team members i come across when I visited the office. GoogleGazumped 19 days after my offer was accepted - see if somebody else is also marketing the place (Update. I have now posted this review on multiple sites and at least twice Chancellors has posted exactly the same response as it provided below. I then respond to its reaction to me - as requested - and it tells me the issue has been dealt with or ignores me. This pretence of a response is more deceit on top of my previous experience) Chancellors played its part in transaction that ended up with me being gazumped 19 days after my offer on a place in Brecon was accepted. For 16 days of that period, despite giving every assurance that all was fine, the agent refused/failed to mark the property as Sold Subject to Contract. Given that the SSTC was finally put in place late on a Friday and I was called on Monday to say a higher offer had come in, I can only presume the SSTC was put in place for the second buyer rather than myself. From the start I heard all sorts of reasons and excuses for why the place was not marked ‘Sold STC’ and I chose, it appears foolishly, to believe that this was just inefficiency - something which the agent had previously demonstrated. And, after all, when an area manager telephones to say ‘don’t worry there will be no more viewings’ that ought to provide confidence. As buyers we don’t always have a choice who we deal with but I can suggest that if you see a property you like the look of being marketed by a branch of Chancellors, check and see if anybody else is also marketing it and then approach the other agent. If, like the vendor of the building I was buying, you place money over an agreement, you might be inclined to think this agency would be good bet to sell your place. As I say, if you are happy to treat a serious buyer in that way you might be right. But for the fact that this place had been on the market for two years starting at a price literally more than double that my supposedly accepted offer. Greed from vendor and agent was showing from the start and that’s never a good sign.
