GoogleI was debating on leaving a review because most of the staff have been lovely, however this accommodation is a huge joke for the money you pay.
One of the lifts has been out of service far too long and there is no access to the terrace either. There has been LITTLE communication via email about both the terrace and the lift. There are 200 or more students living here paying rent, I am having a hard time understanding why it has been almost four months. In regards to the terrace, there was no communication before we moved in that we would not have access. How is it right to advertise that there is a terrace we are paying for but can’t even use it? At least update your website instead of misleading people.
Our accommodation was honestly pretty filthy when we moved in too. There was damage on the oven, blinds and walls.
As for the students living here, if you’re an AUB student or a minority I would not recommend Oxford Point. I’ve had some pretty nasty interactions with the students in this building. A lot of them are loud and inconsiderate as well - as someone who is autistic it is really unpleasant.
I will not be staying here again and would only recommend it if no other accommodation is available. If circumstances change I would consider amending my review.
* Edit: The elevators were fixed, and unfortunately that’s the only good thing I have to say about Oxford Point. Also one of your staff, the elderly white male has made me and other residents uncomfortable in the past with passive aggressive behaviour and comments.
Do not stay here, what a waste of money.

GoogleArrived to a disgustingly dirty flat (sand in the sink, grease all over appliances, hair on the table, limescale on the metal everywhere, weird dark marks all over the bathroom, huge stain on the wooden furniture) with some furniture broken too. The response of the management? Dismissive “someone will clean it” followed up to returning to untouched kitchen and barely touched bathroom after said “cleaning”. Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting!
Edit: My flatmate was onsite when they did the "deep clean" and it consisted of going over the floor with the same dirty mop, not opening the wardrobes (the rodent excrements looking things inside my wardrobe was still there after they "cleaned" my room multiple times), the grease all over kitchen remained after they "deep cleaned" it twice post this comment. Mould and silverfish are also still here after numerous complains after 2.5 months. So yeah, if you are reading this, know that the management not only don't care about the residents and their experience but also lie publicly when they speak out.
Edit 2: In addition to this they do not provide adequate heating even though the bills are included - the heater turns off after 30 minutes of use and no timer option available, which together with bad window insulation means the room stays warm for maybe 30 minutes at a time before you have to manually turn on the heating again. Winter is just starting but nights in this accommodation are freezing already. So far management keeps saying this is a standard system and only offered extra duvets 🤡
So yeah, 0/10, do not recommend - university accommodations may not look like much, may not have the view or modern look, but at least they have heating and solve complaints rather then gaslighting you after you demand what you payed for.

Hi Daria
Thank you for taking the time out to provide your feedback.
We hold resident experience in extremely high regard and are saddened to hear this; however, we can confirm that all flats receive a deep clean before students arrive.
In an attempt to rectify this issue our site team attend your residence to carry out a further clean after your complaint was made.
We have taken your feedback into consideration and will be looking into this further.

GoogleDefinitely consider whether you want to move in to Oxford Point as it is so expensive for the facilities that work. I appreciate the helpful and welcoming staff, but there are notable concerns. They are really trying to fix things to better our experience, but havent got far in terms of higher ups. One of the two lifts has been broken for over a month, causing inconvenience for hundreds of residents. The second lift has broken this evening. The heating system's fixed 30-minute timer leaves us freezing in winter. At no point within the contract did it state that access to heating would be in on a timed manner. The parcel lockers which they fitted around September don’t even work, the drains are all constantly blocked. We have had many short term outages of hot water. A silverfish infestation is an ongoing issue, and the promised completion of the roof terrace by the end of September remains unfulfilled, leaving us paying for facilities we cannot use. Improvement is needed for a more comfortable living environment, and to make it worthwhile. Prices were raised from last year to account for these additions ie roof terrace, gym, study room. To continue charging at these rates seems entirely wrong and immoral when you are not following what you have set out to do.

Hi Jasmine, Thanks for leaving your review. There has been communications sent out regarding the lift that has been broken and the water has been fixed some time ago. Unfortunately sometimes plumbing issues do happen and were fixed within a timely manner. The lift engineer is on his way now . If you have anything that you need to report to the team please come to the team so they can help you, alternatively you have maintenance log which is for you to help keep us up to date with anything you need. GoogleI have a just moved back in to my 3rd year of living at Oxford Point and I couldn't be happier with how the check in/move in process has gone. Laura and the lovely reception team were once again extremely helpful when I got back and I'm very excited to be living in my studio. All information was given to me at the new reception area, as well as a hand with carrying my bag to my room. I was provided with a brand new mattress which is a lovely bonus too. Laura has been a saint these last 3 years and I cant imagine how this building would work without her. I couldn't recommend this accommodation any higher to any future students looking to live in Bournemouth

GoogleOxford Point is an amazing place to be. For student's I could not recommend any accommodation more than this. I am a 4th year Masters student and have lived at Oxford Point for the past 3 years. the building has everything you need and is in the perfect location. The atmosphere and vibe in the building is great and the staff who work here are absolutely amazing. They will help you with anything you need and always make sure you are ok. I could not recommend this building anymore if I tried. 1000000/10000!!!

GoogleAs an indecisive mature student, I was not sure if going to live in student accommodation was the right decision, especially for my final year. When I visit the different accommodations available to me, the sales agents were often pushy and did not highlight the faults, however, Ria showed me all the options available to me at Oxford Point, Ria understood I was a little nervous and then took care of everything. Ria arranged for me to move in early, which has now allowed me to have a break and settle into Oxford Point before the new academic year begins.
My apartment, well, it is much nicer than many of the new hotels around. The kitchen is a good size, the bathroom and shower are also a very good size. My favourite area has to be my study desk, it is huge, with plenty of space and storage and a view of the sea from my window on a sunny day is amazing. My apartment feels like home, the study room on level 3 is fab, and it is nice to socialise with other students who are studying.
The facilities are great, and the staff are awesome, the manager Caroline is fabulous, the atmosphere Caroline and her team have created inside this rather trendy building is what makes it so unique.
Thanks guys.

GoogleRooms are nicely set out, staff are great and always there to help and nothing is ever too much to ask. I like the social events that are put on. Noise is to be expected with many students but totally beats living in a run down shared house. Great location as has all bus routes to uni, close to town center and supermarket.

GoogleBeen trying to contact someone for 2 months now about receiving my £200 deposit back, I have email confirmation stating Oxford point owe me the deposit back and nothing has been done.
No one responses to emails or picks up the phone.
Update -
I have email this exact email many times, and do not get a response. I have even spoke with the manager face to face when I got my tenancy for 24/25 cancelled and he said he would send the refund that day. But it’s been over 2 months and I’ve heard nothing.

TrustpilotI would have rated no stars if it was…
I would have rated no stars if it was an option! My friends and I booked a four bedroom property last November for 3 nights starting today. I messaged through Booking.com for the check in details on Monday, Tuesday and yesterday and left voicemails too, I had no response at all. I took it up with Booking.com who have arranged a refund but my friends and I who all had our cases packed have been seriously let down!! I am very surprised that Booking.com still advertise for this awful company as it now looks like we were not alone. I do believe that we have swerved a bullet by the sound of it! Avoid at all costs!!!

GoogleAs a current female resident, NOT SAFE to stay at all. The 2 men came into my room without knocking (any prior notice) while i was asleep and was told they were just painting and fixing doors as part of their job. I reported to the receptionist and emailed them but got no reply for 3 days and no further safety or security concerns were raised. I feel very unsafe and so much disappointed with them. Please AVOID this at all costs if u are concerned about safety.

GoogleNice, clean and modern accommodation for my daughter. However, the laundry is overpriced in my mind, and the lifts haven't been working for weeks now. I'm so glad she's not on the 16th floor!
EDIT: 1st March 2024
DO NOT STAY AT OXFORD POINT!!
The lifts will not be repaired until after this year's students have left. Simply because the management company want to repair them via the insurance rather than just getting them fixed themselves.
I think we should get half our rent back!
Can someone from the building please contact me ASAP?
2ND EDIT
I tried to call after the reply below from Oxford Point. It just goes to voicemail. Then nobody rings back. Absolute shambles.
3RD EDIT
The lifts were fixed, one broke again the same day, but at least the other is working! Still waiting to hear how much compensation they'll award.

GoogleCurrently, both the lifts aren’t working. One hasn’t been working for months now. And the other broke down 1-2 weeks back but they still haven’t fixed it. And we still have to pay the full rent even though half the things here are not working. This is super unfair. And climbing up and down the stairs is not doing good for any of us. This has also increased anxiety in me and my legs hurt super bad every day. The only thing that they’ve been telling us is that they’ll get it fixed soon! Which they aren’t! I’m paying the rent for all the facilities included here! But I don’t have access to the lifts as they’re not working. It’s not worth moving into this accom

Hi, thank you for taking to leave us a review. We are aware of the frustrations regarding the lifts. The team have been sending regular updates about the lifts and informing residents that the lift parts required are specialist and can only be ordered through our lift company which they have been. So currently we are just waiting for them to arrive but hope that very soon both will be up and running. Please ensure you are checking your emails for correspondence and important updates. Also please remember to ask the team for any help and support you need with shopping or bags in the meantime.

GoogleLoads of mold in my bathroom and yet they ‘clean’ the flats before you arrive. The shower drain doesn’t work and regardless of how many times you complain in this building, nothing happens. For instance, circuit washing machine wasn’t working and when I asked for assistance, nothing happened. If not for my sister’s washing circuit card, I won’t have been able to do laundry. They didn’t even check up on that. Other students/ residents too had to sort themselves out with a circuit card. Fire alarms go off for no reason. There’s just too much bad stuff happening here. Thank the lord this is my final year. It’s like a Monet, fine on the outside but the up close… hmmmm…
Edit: I do talk to the staff, but most of my problems fall on deaf ears. You know when you have a problem with service, then you tell the staff and they are supposed to provide solutions. They do but often irrelevant to my situation and the situation ends up with them saying “I don’t know.” (There’s one particular staff that does this and I haven’t had much issues with staff like Laura before they arrived)
I’ve only stayed here because of it’s kitchens but aside from that like I wrote before ,it’s a Monet. Also money is spent on gyms or other social spaces, when essential facilities like the elevator always has issues. The heating system is terrible to the point I started sneezing blood and got a heater and even if I report the bad heating system, nothing will happen as always.

GoogleAbsolutely atrocious!! You have bugs everywhere you have one unprofessional staff member who blames you for everything even when it’s the company’s fault . They don’t provide you with the services they should be . They will fix anything in their own time which can be months . Bedroom windows don’t close . And rent is extremely expensive £3600 for what 2 months really and then expects us to pay £3300 after that . Really . Security are only people give a shit bout your welfare .
Edit 1
It’s been a year now and I got told I didn’t have a deposit right but I know I have a deposit on the room I had , I got told via email I didn’t but I know I put one down and I want my money back and compensation when I lived there as I barely able to use anything there , the gym was always out of use and on top of that I was disabled (I had surgery on my foot) and the lifts were broken for 2 months and no one helped me up the stairs or assisted me in any shape or form. So I want my money back and compensation or will get the council involved and get that place shut down .

GoogleLaura, richenda and Patricia at Oxford point are always working hard for the students here, any time I have an issue with anything regarding uni, accommodation or personal issues they always try their very best to help out and give solutions. The building is great and always kept clean and you can see it’s looked after well. For me safety in accommodation is very important so seeing how all the staff and security take their jobs seriously makes me feel at ease. They’re always willing to go a step further and even if they don’t know the solution to an issue I may be having they always manage to find one.

GoogleI am disappointed with this accommodation and cannot recommend it. I was not informed how to lock my door, which I thought was secure. The safety measures are lacking, and this information should have been provided upon my arrival. I realized the door was unlocked when someone entered my room, screaming for help, this was traumatic.
The staff showed little concern, and the security personnel left without assisting me on the night.

GoogleTruely the best part of living here is the staff who will do everything in their power to make sure you are comfortable staying here. If you are not a social person like myself, you will get noisy neighbours waking you up at all hours in the morning.
Although it is a bit overpriced, esspecially for the suites which is what I opted for, you are getting your moneys worth. The suites are a great size, esspecially the gold and platinums suites, great social areas and facilities.
Another plus, which I didnt get in previous student accommodation, is the great Wi-Fi speeds. This is a most if you are a student who needs to do a lot of research for their course, or just likes to binge watching Netflix.
Ultimately Oxfort Point offers you so much, great rooms, great social areas and great staff. The only thing setting me back from a full 5/5 is just because you will encounter some noisy neighbours and although the staff do everything in their power, there is understandably very little that can be done.

My son stayed here for about 2-3 months and paid £7000 . He was not allowed to travel to the accommodation due to the pandemic but the staff were not interested so basically it was tough and we still had to pay unless we could get someone else to take over the room !!! Which they are not going to do in a pandemic!
Staff are rather patronising in their phone calls and emails and not helpful and couldn’t really give two hoots about the students they were just interested in getting the rent !
One member of staff shouted across the room to my son that he was late with his rent in front of other staff and students!!! Not at all professional.
Also rooms are not that great really basic , lifts never work and place is generally grim.
Definitely overpriced, other accommodation have much more to offer
