Poor quality viewings and service

The Clapham branch sales negotiator was late for the viewing and didn’t ask anyone from the office to notify us (15 minutes late). He had also double booked the appointment, the entire booking was a bit of a disorganised mess. There was a fair bit he wasn’t aware of and generally wasn’t that helpful. The specifications I gave weren’t followed in the viewings. I was ignored when asked if I wanted a broker and my contact information was shared when I had asked for it not to.

Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service, they come across very professional when they value the house, but once its on the market the staff are unhelpful and take days to answer emails. The details were incorrect online as it was put live without us agreeing the details, the pictures were awful and the one thing we did make them change. There has been no effort to sell the house, only having one viewer in two months. Only to find out that the contract is for 4 months too, devastated. Stay away from this company.

Enquired about a rental property but got declined because of previous bad credit - relating to something that has been paid off for a year and 8 months. Not even willing to do a credit check, receive references from previous landlords or take into account income and expenditure. I understand the risks of previous financial problems but ‘previous’ is the main word of focus here. There should be more understanding and investigation towards why things have happened and the likelihood of it happening again. Don’t tar everyone with the same brush.

A big Thankyou goes to Tyler at the Boston branch who has kept us updated throughout and also allowed us to have viewings at such short notice. Excellent service and attention to customer service from Tyler Johnson,i recently sold a property on Boston Lincolnshire through Bairstow Eves in Boston, the house was sold with tenant in situ as the lettings department of Bairstow Eves had managed my property since 2008 so was happy for them to sell my house, as a property developer i get very dismayed with Estate and letting agent customer service on a personal level in these days of everything done online SO to have the professional and personal outstanding service from Tyler Johnson at this was branch was just amazing, he went over and above in constant contact with mine and the buyers Solicitors and making sure the buyer understood all that was going on spending his time with the buyer on a 1 to 1 in person by email and on the telephone, my weekly (sometimes more!) contact with Tyler was something i looked forward to as always professional and always happy!! something rare these days indeed, Tyler is a credit to his company and his personal high standards with in his role, i only wish other agents had the same commitment and drive, well done Tyler and a massive thank you from me you are the best, many thanks from Keith Elliott

DO NOT TRUST BAIRSTOW EVES, Property Rented Without a Valid Licence

I am writing this to warn other families. My family and I have experienced nothing but stress and chaos since renting a property through Bairstow in May 2026.After moving in, we discovered to our horror that the property was let without a valid property licence. When we raised this serious legal issue, the agency completely absolved themselves of responsibility, blaming the landlord. Under UK housing law, letting agents have a strict legal duty to verify and ensure proper licensing is in place before letting a property.The customer service at this branch is shockingly unprofessional. Particular staff members, Mehmet, Rejaul, and Exene, are completely evasive. They take weeks to respond to emails and refuse to answer the phone. On the rare occasion we do manage to speak to them over the phone, they make empty promises to send over details, only to go completely silent and ignore all subsequent emails.Avoid Bairstow at all costs if you value your peace of mind and legal safety. They take your money and completely abandon their legal obligations.

I have bought and sold house so I am no novice. The house I was selling this time was my mothers. Therefor we as a family were still grieving. Information was sparse, not clear and if we had all the information we should have had we would not have accepted the offer and kept the house on the market.
