This company is a strange and unethical set-up and many of the properties are actually owned by the individuals related to the agency themselves. Please read the bottom of the property advert, it'll be noted there. I lost around £7000 on a property which wasn't even mortgageable and I have to say that Zara even tried to imply that I get bridging finance. Honestly please do avoid this agency. I have also realised that many of OPA's properties are bought and turned into investment opportunities at overpriced markups, please do your research on whatever you buy.

Absolutely terrible experience with OPA Estate Agent. I was sold what was presented as a fantastic investment opportunity, a property advertised as having 5 en-suite rooms with a company ready to rent it at a fixed annual income. What they failed to properly highlight was that the property had no HMO licence, which is a huge issue for a 5-bedroom investment property. To make matters worse, the property price was clearly inflated by at least £50,000 compared to its true market value. I trusted their figures and assurances, which in hindsight was a huge mistake. The property wasn’t even ready at the time I paid my deposit. Despite this, I moved forward based on their promises. Then, after holding my deposit for six months, I was suddenly told that the company that was supposedly lined up to rent the property had gone into administration. Conveniently, the “new” company was not prepared to pay the same annual rent that had been used to justify the inflated purchase price in the first place. So not only did the rental income change drastically, but the entire basis of the investment collapsed. At that point, I had completely lost trust in the agency and had no choice but to pull out of the purchase, after already spending around £8,000 in legal fees and associated costs. The whole experience felt misleading, poorly managed, and extremely unprofessional. I would strongly advise anyone considering dealing with OPA Estate Agent to proceed with extreme caution. Do your own due diligence and do not rely on verbal promises. Very disappointed.

I have had an extremely professional experience with The Online Property Agency. Zara has been fantastic throughout, her communication is second to none, and she is very personable at the same time. She has been highly efficient from the outset setting a very good but realistic market value for the property and left me pleasantly surprised by having sold subject to contract within 48 hours of my instruction. Zara was always available throughout the sale process and helped liaise with all parties ensuring conclusion of the sale in a timely manner. Highly recommend The OPA

My property was under offer within 48 hours of going live, Zara was highly efficient and managed to issue the sales memorandum to both my solicitors and the buyers solicitors. Her attention to detail was second to none, communicating with both sets of solicitors to ensure the sale completed within the specified 8 week period. I look forward to building my relationship with this agency and have happily instructed them on a second property, if you want to get your property sold for the best price in a hassle free manner then use The OPA, the beauty of there sale process is they don’t charge you a single penny!

Smoke and Mirrors please stay away

I lost over £7000 by trying to a purchase a property, which wasn't fully mortgageable due to dry rot and Zara's attitude once this became apparent was despicable and rude. Please stay away from this strange set-up, some of the properties they have for sale are owned by the estate agent or associates, which they inflate with enticing yields or simple overpricing. Please do read the description of their adverts thoroughly as they state some of their properties for sale are owned by associates. P.S. Please stay away if it's too good to be true, then it is. This isnt a fake review, as per the response, please just stay away from this set-up. As parting advice, I would state always look at comparables in the area and understand that if anyone is pressuring you like Zara did to me, then please do back away. This agents approach might be legal, but no way is it moral or ethical.

These are very very dodgy fraudsters!! Stay away if you’re a buyer.

These are fraudsters!!! Something is not right with this company and I’m not sure how they are allowed to get away with this con! All they care about is their exclusivity fee. Once you pay this, you’re on your own really. They were so pleasant at the beginning and the attention and the way they appeared to be listening to my needs made them appear like professionals. I was receiving updates and calls even after office hours through calls, watsapp chats, emails trying to convince me to commit to the deal but the moment I paid that exclusivity fee, that was it! No one was ever available to take my call. My solicitor couldn’t contact the vendors, the lenders couldn’t contact anyone to book the survey, and deadline they set for the exclusivity came and passed. The whole experience was just unbelievably unprofessional! If you’re a buyer, please stay away!!! Update: Yes I have not used my real name but you know exactly who I am Zara Thomas! I lost £8,000 to you guys and I would strongly advise others to stay away from you and your fraudulent model of business where everything is dandy until you get hold of the person’s money and then you reveal your true colours hiding behind small print!

0 stars be careful with this firm. The upfront fee they push for is quite high when added to the actual property purchase they make it hard don’t allow viewings on an investment property. What happens if you need a mortgage survey they say pay the fee and we can arrange that yet you can’t see what you’re buying before hand. Basically you may as well go to an auction it’s better. They only push for the fee which you could quite easily loose.

WORST AGENCY

Do not deal with this company if you’re renting or buying. Rented a property with them and upon moving out they’ve decided to withhold my deposit for no reason. Reached out to them on multiple occasions and I’ve received nothing but silence on their part. I’ve had to take further steps because it seems as though this is something they’ve done and gotten away with before - but they definitely won’t be doing that with me. I’ve also realised that a lot of the “positive” reviews on here are actually fake. If you want to do anything with this agency please do your thorough research and be very diligent. Had issues with them from the get-go of moving into the property, ignored it, and now I regret having done that. If I could give less than a star I would.

I have known of OPA for some years and heard good reviews from some contacts I have in the property world. This year we have decided to sell stock and approached OPA. I had an initial call with one of the team Zara to review what properties we had available and our expectations. She was able to provide me with information of their sales processes, their marketing strategy and gave an indication of time lines based on market demand for the type of property we had available. fast forward 2 months we have accepted an offer on the first property that OPA took to market and have had a lot of interest in 2 other units.
